You will have to go back to stock before you will even be notified of the update. When I had my droid 1 it took a week after the release before I received the update to 2.2

here is another news story on it.
Anyone updated yet
I have tried on 2 stock roms (rooted) and neither say there is an update available - before going back to stock via the 11 step process, has anyone actually updated their device yet - or am I just not patient enough and the update is actually rolling out slowly and not available manually? Any help is appreciated, since I would hate to blast phones to get the update (i would rather wait on a rooted version, but would love to get a better experience than the current ROM provides!)

I too would rather wait for a rooted version but I'm too excited to use Gingerbread. I will roll back my rom to the original tonight via Moto RSD Lite and then try the update, I will report back if all goes well... or not, hehe.

try *#*#checkin#*# or the other way around, i forgot.
My wife has the D2 Global on vzw. running the orig 2.2 not rooted or bootstrapped.
No update notifications / plus the software update says the phone is up to date.
*#*#2432546#*#*
Checkin works fine, still no update atleast in the Phoenix Metro Cell System.
Just tried checkin as well and no gingerbread love here, either. In Columbus, Ohio. I believe the update is still in it's "soak-test" phase, which means only a select few will actually receive it just yet. My guess is we're sstill a week out from actual release, but don't quote me on it. Only wishful hoping at this point .
Nothing here in NC yet.
Ive tried the *#*#checkin#*#* also no go.
Anyone got it yet? I wish we can find the SBF so we can just flash it ourselves
will being rooted prevent me from getting the update?

If you have a custom ROM on your rooted device then most defiantly. I went back to the original stock using the 11 step process without a problem, but you will most probably have to wipe/factory data to get it to work.
I'm still waiting for the new update though
Root, etc.
Just got a Droid 2 Global from Assurion (brand new) as a replacement for a stolen Droid 2. Pure stock, never been rooted; no update. So those of you with no update don't need to panic over whether you ran Z4ROOT or not; the update is NOT yet here, at least on my phone (California) and it is pure as the driven snow.

I'm pretty sure it would be an update.zip file, not an sbf file, but all the same it would be nice if someone would just copy it to their pc before updating so we could all have it already.
It looks like Coby Germany has released an ICS update for the 7022 | 1125 | 1126 | 8127 Kyros tablets from Coby.
Video:
Apparently I can't post links yet, being new here so here is the youtube code (just do a google search for the following, it should be the first video link) :
rBWeo_rEdcU
Coby Germany Link:
Again, I can't post links so just go to the main cobygermany site, it should be on the front page.
Let me preface this post by stating that I'm a bit of an android newb, so take everything I say here for what that's worth.
The update requires a serial number for the device, mine did not work so I tried the serial number trick (stepping up from the one shown in the above video. The original in the video is 101110010351 if any one is interested.) It wouldn't install until I completed a factory reset in Android 2.3. but ICS is now installed on my Mid1126.
Ok, now for the nitty gritty, HDMI is not working, and WIF is a bit flakey. Also, I can't get the Market to install using this ( youtube s2oXEhqCgcU ) method at least. Also, none of the standard Google apps seem to work, Gmail, Google +, etc. Using any of these I get an error message "Unfortunately, Google Services Framework has stopped"
Anyways, I just thought I'd share this with you all. Looks like Coby has a way to go yet before this version is actually ready for prime time (at least on my mid1126).
Is there a way to revert the device to the stock GB?
i have the same Q.
but there is one more problem, a bigger one. after installing ICS onto Kyros MID1125 I lost the possibility for 3g, for whom I have the hardware for. so how could i fix that, any possibility's for a downgrade via flashing with ODIN?
EDIT: to be more specific there is no option for APN or any kind of mobile network settings, just WiFi .

I install on MPMAN 827. It work very good.
I can give you files for this, I flash with CWM recovery.
I rooted and install Google Play.
Still waiting for an update...
Looks like Coby is dragging it's ass on the promised update... ready next week three weeks ago... Yet I still maintain hope. The current ICS is useable, but just barely.
The Coby German site says -
Tablets with Android 2.3 are now updated with the yet ready patches already included. If you updated your tablet earlier with an update file not containing the patches, you can downgrade to Android 2.3 and update to Android 4.0.3 again. Please contact our support for a description of the procedure. Alternatively the patches will be generally available in a few days.

This is a really confusing block of text... does this mean that 2.3 fixes somehow magically carry over into an ICS upgrade!!?? Would downgrading to 2.3 again and then upgrading to ICS fix everything..??!!
2.3
I reinstall 2.3 again
I don't like ICS, on my tablet is working good
Rooted and with Google Play is Ok.
I waiting the update from Coby Germany.....
Coby Updates
Ok, looks like somewhat good news... this is a Youtube comment response from the dude from Hotodi.tv (from the original 4.3 upgrade video on the Cobygermany.de site) Note: It's a German machine translation, he's not retarded.
----------------------------------------------
"Hello. Yes, even if it is "unfortunately" not currently looks from the outside, it moves very much at the moment. THe test images look very good out there will not be long that they can be published FINALLY. Video playback is WORLDS better, HDMI works, memory cards and internal memory are displayed on the PC / Mac right wifi much better performance, better on Tablet already 4 days, no freeze ..."

So you flashed ICS update fom a zip via recovery, or did you follow the installation process from Coby Germany ?
And to go back to 2.3 have you just restored your nandroid backup or is it an other process ?
Thanks for your help.
EDIT @pixelpump : I can't find update page on coby's website anymore, where did you see this message ?
EDIT2 : no probs anymore, update page came back

ICS Update (v1.1.0025) works fine
I have updated my sons MID7022 like it descripted on the german coby website.
The new Android 4.0.3 version (v1.1.0025) works really fine.
After updating the tablet I rooted it to install the gapps. Now my son is happy to use the play store, gmail etc.
Exclamation on Reboot
Does anyone know how to overcome the problem of the update stalling on reboot with the exclamation mark? I had read that it might be because of low disk space on the download but I did a factory reset and came up with the same problem...
How did you achieve this?
I googled a lot, but didn't find a good "how-to" or I was unable to download the necessary CWM. Do I really need to root to install gapps?
Thanks for your help!

Helpful for me was these thread at Android Tablets. Maybe you can use these description, the long way.
I'm using CWRM4, with version 5 it will not good work as you can read her.
Without root you can't install the gapps. Try these description.
Thank you very much, I'll try that.

And? Have you succes?
Unfortunately no.
CWM wouldn't work, although I have some experience with Android rooting (HTC Sensation). So I decided to return the tablet.
This was my second and last try on a cheapo tablet (first one was a Odys Vision, whos build qualitity was poor, would be a really long list ). I'm going to wait for the Google Nexus or perhaps the Windows 8 Tablets (as replacement for my Laptop).
But again thanks for your effort!
[Q] N8010, OTA 4.1.1, with device status as "custom" when nothing has been modified
Hi,
I have a N8010 (I'm in the UK) which recently updated OTA to 4.1.1. I haven't rooted or modified it in any way, however, when I went to check if 4.1.2 was around yet, the update dialog told me "your device has been modified. Software updates are not available". It's also showing "custom" as the device status. I tried a factory reset, reinstalled everything, and at first it seemed OK but now has gone back to this "custom" status.
I want to keep the software as the official edition until 4.1.2 comes out OTA in the UK - can anyone shed some light on why this might be happening?
Many thanks

Nope, as far as I'm aware I haven't installed any apps that try to modify the tablet system, and definitely haven't got an adblocker app.

Thanks for your reply - No, I haven't installed the fix. I'm pretty flummoxed by this!
Where did you buy it from? Was it open box or factory sealed? You won't get any OTA updates while that is showing so if I were you I'd just download the ma5 dbt rom and flash it via odin (which is the equivalent of samsung flashing your device anyway!). There's loads of guides on how to do it but if you need any help just ask

Hey, I bought it new and sealed, and haven't seen this problem until after the jellbean 4.1.1 OTA update.
However I've been doing some research and have found a possible cause - it seems that, since the 4.1.1 update, if I turn my tablet on with the SD card in place it thinks my software is custom...if I remove SD card and restart, it's coming up as official! No idea why this is happening, but at least it means when 4.1.2 comes out OTA in the UK (which hopefully it will soon!) I just have to remove the SD card and reboot to get the update.
Strange!
Thanks for your advice, guys
Updated to JB back in January and since then I was very disappointed with decreased performance and lag.. even factory reset did not help...
So I have made decision to flash back to ICS 4.0.4.. Everything went fine and my Note is like new The only problem is that it auto downloaded JB update again and it's nagging me every couple of hours to upgrade (which I obviously don't want to do).
ICS doesn't seem to have option in settings to disable updates.. Or at least I am not able to find it...
Could somebody hint me how can I delete downloaded JB firmware update and stop Note from downloading it again?
Thanks
DrLamok
ps: I was trying to find similar topic here on the forum but failed to find solution.

I don't know if this will work but if you just root your tab, samsung update will see it's modified and you never get updates again.
If you later wanna do updates just use odin.
Hope that helps...
I know the newest update isn't a big deal and it only helps Canadians but I still a. want to update and b. Just know for future updates. I have my phone rooted via saferoot and I tried unrooting and updating and it failed. Tried updating while rooted and failed. I'm running android version 4.3 and VRUCML1. Any help would be apprecaited.

I am having the same issue. I don't really care whether the update is applied or not. I just want the annoyingly persistent update message to go away. It is there every time I turn my phone on. Can the update either be applied somehow, or if not, can it be disabled?
Thanks.
