Does anyone know how to get the HTC people widget back on Cleanrom 3.0? I tried to restore it from titanium backup but it kept failing. Thanks

I just tried a Nan restore. I had LauncherPro set as default before I ran the backup. After the restore my system booted into LP a lot was missing. I launched Sense and it also was messed up and gave the tip screen you get on initial out of the box startup.
I tried another backup with the same result. I finally used a third backup that was done before I installed LauncherPro and everthing was fine.
Can anyone explain this. Is there anyway to get my later backups back now?

Can you elaborate on what rom, kernel, and what was missing?
Also you should be able to do a backup which will create backup with the current date and time. This is so you can later restore to that point to fix potential errors.
I backed up my stock rom with LP running as default over Sense.
I flashed to Virtuous 3.0.1 with adrynalyne kernel 2.6.32.15
I was missing my custom wallpaper and most home screen icons in LP. When I launched Sense same thing plus it acted like an initial out of the box install by showing me the pinch screen tip, etc.
I'm guessing but it seems that booting into LP on a sense rom caused the problem. As I said I went back to the previous backup, at which time I was also using LP and had the exact same result. When I went back to an even earlier backup, before installin LP, everything went fine.
I mentioned this on another post but then posted it as a new thread since it was off topic there and my post problem was resolved. I am told by another member that what I did is done commonly by others and the problem cannot be with the Nan backups. Can't think of another explanation though. Unlikely to get 2 corrupt nandroid backups, especially considering CW checks the md5.
When others restore to LP default has it been with Sense ROMs?
Just glad I had a lot of backups.

Wow this sounds like dejavu lol exact same thing happened to me too with virtuous rom and launcher pro, I had 2 back-ups that were totally borked with the exact same problems you described, I thought it was only me seeing I was the only one that seemed to have this problem so I didn't report it. I saw my sd card was almost full and just assumed that was it.

Well that's good to know. I'm still thinking it is flashing a Sense ROM and then not booting and loading Sense on initial startup. I don't know enough to know if this is reasonable, I'm just looking at the behavior. I can't think of another explanation.
I wonder if there is any way to get my later backups restored. Maybe something can be manually changed before boot up to put Sense back as default.
So I have my tablet exactly the way I want it. So what can I use to fully back up the tablet so if something happens I can restore back again?
Is that even possible?

Yeah, I have that..But it seems like it just backs up the individual programs.
Does it back up my widgets, etc so if I restore, the widgets will reload?
SGS tools kinda works for android 2.2. dont know if it works for 3.2
Do a nandroid backup from recovery (assuming you are running a custom rom). Otherwise if you flash a new rom or wipe and try to restore your launcher app the widgets wont reload. For some reason widgets are tied to an specific install and dont work when restoring them in a new rom.
a few months back i rooted and installed a rom (cyanogen9) for the first time, ive use titanium to backup my apps and setttings and seperately used myphoneexplorer to backup sms etc
im liking the look of the fallout rom, can i still easily restore apps once i switch roms?? or will the fact im changing roms cause problems?
hope that makes sense
thanks
If you use Rom Manager then you can create a backup so that if you are unhappy with the Rom you next install or just want to go back to your previous one you can easily restore the backup and it is like a system restore point on a computer so everything will be put back to how you had it.
I did this earlier to try out Fallout, love it and dont think I'll go back to my old Rom
Edit: sorry misunderstood your question, I've restored apps with titanium and had no issue at all, but those were all on Sense based roms no idea if it would create an issue from a non Sense based rom
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA
You might tin into issues with some apps that might not be compatible with ICS. Better to try if it works for you.
Recording apps is fine cont try restoring system data
Sent from a Desire S waiting for Kernel 3 sources. WAKE UP HTC!!!!
Hey people. I am running CM10 with apex launcher pro on my skyrocket. I was wondering, when I update my phone for the next nightly, is there any way I could have the transparent contacts and messaging without having to push install it and not have to keep restoring it? I tried backing it up with Titanium but when it restores the apps after flashing the next nightly, it goes back to the original non-transparent contacts/messaging. Thanks for any help and I am sorry if there is anything wrong with this thread.
Hey guys quick question, is it a bad idea to do a app+data backup of my apps using TB on 4.4.4 ROM and firmware and then upgrading firmware+ROM to 5.0.1 and then restoring my apps+data? If it makes any difference I'd be going from CleanROM 3.0 to CleanROM 4.0 with a full wipe. All feedback is welcome and appreciated, thanks!

It's hit and miss. I let apps reinstall from the store and then only install Data to the one's that really need it. LP may have a different directory structure than KK. I attempt to do App + Data restores for those that are missing but find Data does not alaways work. I then have to back and redo Data. The apps highlighted in green and yellow are usually safe to restore and contain Data (settings) from System apps. That normally works to restore BT, WiFi, Accounts, messages, and call logs, etc.
Others swear by MyBackupPro and Ultimate Backup. I am just used to TiBU. If an app has its own backup, I always try to use that. One thing for sure, it is absolute PIA.
