Call Recorder app. that works on Z3 ? - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know a call recording application that is proven to work well on Z3 or Xperias in general?
I come from HTC phones where Call Recorder https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder
works perfectly and records directly trough kernel (root required) and records perfectly clear audio WITHOUT use of the built in microphone as most applications do.

I use "Call Recorder" from Clever Mobile and have never had an issue on Nexus 5 or Z3. Once I knew it worked, I paid for it. Wish it had OneDrive instead of Dropbox but it's solid.

Thanks for suggestion. Does it record other caller equally well? Which setting (recording option) do you use to get calls recorded on Z3?

I've found it records the other party just fine. It's a little fainter the my voice, but you can hear it all just fine. It's not perfect but definitely adequate for what you need.

It sounds like it uses the microphone to record other party, that is why it's fainter. That is the major issue with most call recording apps. I will need to test it, thanks for the tip.

Yea it does... I worked with a mobile ISV who did native and which worked much better, but their problem was device compatibility...via the mic covers more devices but isn't as clear. Trade-offs I guess!

Z3 DUAL D6633 try this

http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/mod-call-recording-mod-t3102277

I'm using Boldbeast and it's working fine on Z3 (D6603 & KitKat) and it's not using the mic.

Call recording problem in Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5301

Hello,
I tested a lot of recording calls apps for Samsung phone S5301, unfortunately none of them work properly, when I play recorded files back they're like fast forwarded sounds, but voice recorder app works great without any problem, also I installed and tested all custom and stock ROMs from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291865 but same issue exist, any help?
Thank you.
I'm experiencing the same issue here. I think it has something to do with audio drivers messed up by Samsung.

do you find any useful app for call recording?
There is a problem with call recording.
Most modern Android devices block the option for direct call recording.
The sounds you can record are through the external speaker.
So actually call recording only records your own voices, and the other side voice is recorded through the external speaker which has a very poor sound quality.
So it's not a problem of a specific app, but a problem in the device itself.
Maybe a combination of a specific ROM with a specific voice recording app can be a solution.

[Q] Recording phone calls.

Hi.

Any progress on this? I still can't find a single app that can record calls using any option within any app.
I'm using ACR now, so far is fine, but sometimes cannot record either of party voice, but over 90% of records are OK.

Working Call Recorder FOUND!
Call Recorder by Skvalex works 100% of the time for incoming and outgoing calls and uses the line (not the speaker) for recording. I have tried numerous call recording applications, but this is the only one that works for the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G (SGH-T699). This will require root.
1) Install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder (costs $10, or test it first using the time-limited trial from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21317161)
2) In the application, click the Menu button, go to Settings > Recording > Device menu, select the Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset.
In the future, our phone's model may be put in this list for convenience, but choosing the chipset is anyway functionally equivalent.
3) Select CAF as the "Recording Method". (This option requires root)
4) Disable the "Delay before start recording" for Incoming and Outgoing calls.
4) Enjoy.

Best App to Record Calls?

Hi, I've tried using many apps but they don't seem to be good at recording the person on the other end of the line.
The app I'm currently using is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.callrecord&hl=en
In the recordings I can only hear my self speaking perfectly, not the person on the other line.
Are there any apps that record both people perfectly?

I use Call Recorder by Skvortsov. It works great for me, but your phone has to be rooted. I have tried several others but this the only one that worked. If your phone isn't rooted then there aren't any apps that work with the nexus5. Hope this helps.
I'm on lollipop. If I root it will it cause me issues receiving updates in the future?

I've been using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder&hl=en It doesn't feature any particularly elegant design, but it has worked reliably for me every time. I don't think there's any recorder that will be "good" at recording the party at the other end -- but this does catch them and, if you pump the volume a bit, they're clear enough. This one is also free.
Best call recorder
The call recorder I spoke about in an earlier thread does great at recording both sides of the conversation. There are several settings for it. The phone can either record all conversations or you can have it ask you after every call whether you want to save or delete. It is really an excellent app. I've been using call recorder apps for my last two android phones. My last one was a Note 1. The problem is Google did something to Kit Kat that doesn't allow these apps to work properly without rooting the phone. I wish they would correct this problem. The main reason I root my phone is for the call recorder. I need it for business.
You will still get updates if you root the phone, but you will lose root on major updates. There are ways not to lose root on the lesser updates like small fixes to problems in the software. But you will lose it on the major updates. I haven't updated for KitKat to Lollipop yet because a some of the apps I use a lot don't seem to be working with the update. I'll wait until it gets fixed.

[Solved] no more call recording (without root) on marshmellow?

hey, it used to work perfectly in Lollipop.
do you experience the same thing?
does sony disable the call recording in marshmellow (or google) by default?
thanks.
UPDATE: skvalex's app has been updated to support z5 and now it works again, using WAV format !
No one has faced this problem?
I have the same problem.
I am using a z5 Compact
with Call Recorder Pro from Appliqato, With soundSource Voice Call.
it records sound when using SoundSource Voice Communication but that gives really bad sound quality. So it is not a usable option.

Works fine w/o root here
Z5 Compact E5823 (Customized CE1) w/o root:
On 5.1.1 skvalex's Call Recorder was fine.
On 6.0 skvalex's Call Recorder records only my side, the voice of the other party is barely audible.
On 6.0 Total Recall records the other party much better but there is sometimes a warning that the recording was unsuccessful. Still testing if this app is stable.
(update: regardless the warnings the recordings were OK)
same issue here.
After the marshmallow update on the z5 premium, skvalex call recorder no longer functions properly.
Used to work perfectly fine without any root before the upgrade.

Christ, Skyvalex's app is a touch pricey!

Call recording.... jOnePlus Tools does it work on OP7 Pro?

I absolutely need Call Recorder on OP7 Pro... coming soon from Poland
jOnePlus Tools is still working?

Any other solution?
Tks
this is a great question
Last time I checked, Pie disables the ability to record your conversations using the earpiece and microphone but still works using the speakerphone. I record my conversations as well using the S9 Plus on Oreo. When I upgraded to pie, the recording stopped. So I had to downgrade and find another solution to have the latest software and the abilityto record. Another way to record using the earpiece and microphone audio source is through unlocking your phone so I heard. I couldn't unlock my S9 Plus as it's the Snapdragon variant can't be unlocked for who knows what reason since it is my phone.
The play store updated its policy as of March 2019, forbids apps to record/gather the caller ID. This could be corrected by installing a version of the app before the policy took effect
Does the built in screen recorder capture call audio, I wonder... ?

Maybe some mod or trick ...
I'm using Call Recorder from Skvalex, and also enabling built in call recording with the adb command worked also. But +1 for the Call Recorder app.

I tried Cube CR ... It works a bit, but mostly it doesn't record when a BT headset is connected ...
I think Skvalex also has the same problem.
Do you confirm enabled the native call recorder?
Is the ADB procedure the same as OP6T?
The OOS Magisk module works like a charm (GM1913 Op7Pro). Simply install, reboot, enable auto record in stock dialer app and done :good:
(Edit: only tested the phone earpiece/mic, no Bluetooth or other ways tested).

Have not yet tried bluetooth, but is not a problem for me, I use bluetooth very little. But will try bluetooth later.
I enabled (and tried) native call recording once, but not anymore.

Be patient, it's my first OP.
You could explain, step by step, from the beginning what should I do?
Or some links for any tutorial.
Thank you very much.
Call Recorder from Skvalex here too.
BT recording works, but you can hear mostly your voice, and the remote party is more like a white noise. Also, I installed the version from official site, because play store version can't show numbers due Google's new policy.

Anyway I have enabled the Native call recorder, via ADB procedure. It works flawlessly...

This will also be coming as a toggle-able feature in an upcoming custom ROM.
It will basically enable to built in call recorder in the OnePlus phone app which you can then just enable in its settings.

Hopefully in the next few days.
I'm just a tester for the ROM but the good work is done by @mwilky. You can have a look over his ROM (Renovate ICE) in the OP6 and OP6T forums to get a sense of the types of things you can do with this specific ROM.
Fun times ahead!!
