Guys.......plz tell me how to flash android l final preview on n5 safely my n5 is rooted and running slimkat rom i have few questions regarding this...?
since my phone's bootloader is already being unlocked is it safe to flash factory image directly......?
im running slimkat rom does it cause any problem in flashing the factory image of final preview android l
thank you,
Regards
Flashing a factory image shouldn't even require a bootloader unlock , as long as it isn't a downgraded version, so yes from my experience with my RAZR at least that shouldn't be a problem, are you flashing complete stock ROM or just restoring system using twrp?
Might want to try that website.
developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
It's an https://
Sorry I can't post outside links yet
Does that answer your question at all?

Ask yourself, why do you think there might be a different procedure from one image to the next?
On the download page there are multiple images for multiple devices and only one set of instructions for all of them.
Thanks
well i knew in my mind its the same but still had a little bit doubt because i messed my phone once. so i just wanna be 100 % sure....
Thanks a lot guys...
Hi,
I am currently running a stock but rooted nexus 5 on kitkat 4.4.4. I want to do a clean install to stock but rooted lollipop 5.0.1. What is the best way to do this? Any tutorials? I am running a mac - As I mentioned I want to do a clean install so I am ok with losing everything.
Thank you

Tutorials as much that you almost can't handle with.
I believe you are saying I should look for tutorials - got it thank you. case closed! unless I run into a serious problem.
If u have any specific sources let me know, (xda-dev forum or just google?)

No. Flashing the factory image will overwrite any kernel you have.

Hi. Is it possible to update my Nexus 5 currently on KitKat (4.4.4) directly to Lollipop (5.1) ?
If you are rooted, then, yes. You can just flash a 5.1 based rom.
Or if you can find a system image of 5.1, you can push that to your phone directly.
First post in this thread has instructions if you need em http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/android-5-1-upgrade-error-load-img-t3053984
Make sure you know what you are doing first before proceeding

http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217 - You need to read this thread.
Since I'm not sure what build are you currently running, you should look at "5.0 LRX21O-from-4.4.4.x" OTAs:
5.0 LRX21O-from-4.4.4 r2 KTU84Q: http://android.clients.google.com/pa...Q.67fdc56d.zip

All my old devices, I burner only root without changing versions or boot device ..
Well, when you downgrade just exclude data, you will get FC's but that just whilst you are on the lower firmware, once you root, install recovery and flash a pre-rooted zip (Again, exclude data) you will be fine.
Or (For the third time) look in the general section to see how to root lollipop
