Hi,
recently my Xperia SP came in immerse contact with water. I powered it off quickly, then dried it as much as I could.
I then turned it on, it was working for like 15 minutes, and then it suddenly shut down.
It now acts like the hard power off button is constantly pressed (vibrates 3 times when I plug it in/power it on/etc.).
Any help much appreciated!
Sounds like a water stuck between the button n the contact thingy (sry for bad english, not quite good at explaining things)
But i think theres still some water left there, should be fine after some time , water should evaporate on its own(wouldnt recommend having phone turned on cuz of possible short circuit)
Not an expert, but this sounds like the only logical explanation to me.
Hi,
Water damage such as yours is usually fatal I'm afraid.
Also, I see you are well familiar with your device section, so please ask there.

I dropped my Sony Xperia SP in the toilet. I wasn't able to turn it off right away because the screen went black. In the right light, I could faintly see it and I could still feel it vibrating, so I knew it was on, but I couldn't power it off. I finally managed to turn it off and put it in a bag of rice overnight. When I turned it on again, the screen was completely black. I could feel it vibrate and the light flashed to indicate that I had a new text, but the screen was black. Is there anything I can do to fix it or is there a way to turn it off so I can at least prevent any more damage until I can take it to be fixed?
Hi,
You can ask here for opinions,
> Sony Xperia SP > Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
But usually water shorts components in our devices and trying to fix it can get costly and usually ends poorly. You replace one component and find out something else is wrong. Best to save your money for a new device. In my humble opinion.
Good luck!

So I got this phone from my girlfriend, looks like a really decent piece of kit when it works, I would love to use this as a backup/secondary phone, but I've run into a really weird issue. I've scoured the interwebs looking for a fix, but so far seems I'm the only one.
Basically what happens is this. On first power-up, the phone works fine, screen looks good, everything is like normal. The problem starts when I try pull the phone out of standby after short-pressing the power button. Once the phone comes out of standby, it looks like the resolution of the screen halves itself, so I get all icons/graphical elements overlaid over each other. I have pictures of the issue, just waiting till I get my post count up.
I've flashed a ROM, hard reset, soft reset, cleaned connections, I'm sort of out of options here. Any ideas XDA'ers?
Cheers,

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
Even though your phone is IP65 and IP68 rated, did you make sure that all ports and covers are firmly closed (mentioned in Sony website)? For more specialized help, your thread will be moved to the Xperia M2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum. There are experts there who can help you out. Please note that in order to respond to any replies, you need to create a XDA account.

I bought a new tablet and the specs were great but there was a problem with it. It kept freezing every now and then. I talked to the seller and he insisted that do an upgrade which I refused to do because it causes a lot of problems. They refused to negotiate anything until I do the upgrade so I did it. Everything went well when I burnt it but once I put the sd in the tablet and the screen turned white then started fading into black around the edges until it all became black. After a while it turned off so I took the sd out and turned it on and I've heard the sound that plays whenever I turn it on but the screen was white and then black just before.
The tablet is on I'm sure of it but the screen doesn't show anything. It's not off though. I mean there's a light coming out of it. I tried the power and volume buttons but when it turns on the screen doesn't show anything.
When I connected the tablet to the computer it was normal. My previous data was deleted which means that the flashing worked I think because it looked like it was formatted. Everything is fine except for the screen.
I'm sorry for the long post but all the other solutions I found were related to dropping the phone or something and even the ones related to the firmware were different. I hope you can help me with this specific case. I can upload photos or a video if that would help.
Thanks in advance.

Dear people,
I need some help, i've tried googling it but i am not sure if i have the same problem.
There are a few similarities but i am not sure if i have the same problem.
Phone: Huawei ascend mate 7
OS: Android 5.0 or 6.0 i think.
Status: Not rooted.
Warranty: i might have a few months left if i am right.
Problem:
My phone have always worked. It's summer here and it is hot over here.
Before i slept it worked without any problem.
When i woke up, i've noticed i slept on it with my back and saw some sweatdrops on my screen(Not sure if it went internally).
It's fully black screen, I can call myself, it's vibrating. It is suddenly not recognized anymore when connected to my laptop (F instead of ascend mate 7 or something like that.
It seems when pressing the volume down + power button that it turns off as the connection to the laptop gets off and a few seconds later back on.
But still the same problem occurs.
The only difference i have noticed SOMETIMES when pressing a button the screen goes on. For like a second or two max, but then it's back to black screen again.
I've had a little scratch on my touchscreen but i never had any problem with it. It's also barely visible.
I hope someone can help me!
Kind regards,
Mr. sweatback.
