This cradle/charger for the G3 looks great:

Any idea if it will work well with the Nexus 4?
If its Qi Wireless charger, Do not see why not.
Yeah, in theory it looks fine, but with all the issues related to Qi-charging, I'd love to know if someone has actually tried it before I buy...for example, a similar cradle made by Nokia constantly disconnects the Nexus 4 according to one review.
So i offer you to ask in LG G3 forum, I think you have better chance to get answer there.
There is already a thread on it in the G3 forum, but no Nexus 4 experiences posted so far...
Which one is Better Nexus 5 Official Wireless Charger or Nexus 4 Wireless charging orb.
Ended up answering this question myself: bought this charger yesterday and so far the one issue with it is that at some point during last night it stopped charging...I might have solved this by replacing the adapter that I had (the Nexus 4 1.2A one) with one from my Nook HD+, which provides 2.1 - on the charger it stated that I should use the LG G3 1.8 A charger, so maybe the issue was because of this. Will find out in the morning, I guess...if this issue could be resolved, it would be a wonderful solution - costs less than 30 EUR, works as a dock, no slippage issues...
Another night, same issues...looks like it won't charge all the way if left by itself. Oh well...

Probably is not the best forum to ask, I recently got this wireless charger for my Nexus 4. It looks slick and price wise is very affordable. Should really work fine, but I am having this issue where it says it is charging but after a while, is not charging any at all. I tried it aligning with the induction coil in many positions but so far no luck.
However, my phone is indeed charged with a LG wireless charger. So it is not the phone.
Has anyone use this charger with the Nexus 4?
Possibly not supplying enough power. Compare out power specs of ur stock charger with the new one. Should be on the devices. Could be the plug itself

Did you fix this issue?

Hi,
So, I'm one of the 'few' users which the USB connector on my nexus became loose to the point where doesn't charge anymore. One of the connectors inside broke (shorter then the others), I tried to fix another connector (successfully) but I can't do much about the broken one.
With this I'm left with 3 alternatives.
Send to RMA, logical, but would take at least two months since I'd have to send it to UK (was bought there) and I don't wanna be that long without it.
Order a USB connector and mount it myself. I'm actually considering this... But moving on...
Order a wireless charger, this seems the most fast option to get it charging. Now choosing this option leaves me with some questions. Considering that the official wireless charger is way more expensive than those QI ones, I checked the specifications and seems like the mA/output between QI chargers and official wireless is the same, so, do they take the same amount of time charging? Will I have any issues with another brand (considering it should work on nexus) ? Any big pratical differences between official / other brands if the technical specifications are the same?
Someone care to shed a light on this matter?
Thank you so much in advance

I use a choetech qi charger. It works perfectly. Charging time is a little longer, but it works awesome

Since charge faster than others. Some get hot, ie the tylt. I use the Nokia dt900 chargers. They are cheap, charge fast, don't get hot, and just work great.
Well if the USB connecter doesn't work you really should get it replaced, not just work around it by getting a Qi Wireless Charger.
How will you ever use fastboot and adb?
Anyways, it doesn't matter what charger you get and the price tag attached to it, as long as they adhere to the standards they should all charge at the same speed and should last the same amount of time. Better to get a cheaper one and save a few bucks.
Check out the RAVPower wireless chargers. Have one of the round-shaped models, works perfectly with Nexus 5.
Hi,
From last few days, the charger for my Nexus 5 is charging my phone very slowly (around 10-15% in an hour). I tried using my friend's charger (Nexus 5) and it was working properly.
I called Google Play support and they asked me to perform some troubleshooting steps (like running phone in Safe Mode etc..). I performed those steps and issue was still present and I responded them the same. I also conveyed them about phone being charging using different Nexus 5 charger. After that, they replied me with steps to be taken to replace the product. But they have specified to ship whole device i.e. phone alogn with all accessories.
Has anyone replaced any of their phone's accessory before? Here the issue is clearly with charger only so why do I need to ship the whole device?

I'm was facing the exact same problem with my nexus 5. I was also told to pack up everything and ship the device. So i called google and they told me that, I'll get the brand new device even if my charger is at fault. I dont know why they dont just change the charger instead of giving the whole new phone.
PS: My device was just picked up by courier and i will get the new nexus 5 in 2 days :fingers-crossed:
If I were you, I would throw away the stock charger and get the official nexus charger from the playstore (if you think it's worth it) or the blackberry folding blade charger which you can find in the accessories section. It's really not worth swapping your perfectly working device for a new one just because of a charger and seeing that the Nexus 5 is prone to some issues, I would certainly think 10 times before replacing it.

Agree with you completely. But the official nexus charger is too expensive for me.

Well, the folding blade charger mentioned in the accessories section looks different. The amazon product page also doesn't specify the charging speed of the charger. Looks fishy to me.
Why don't you order it from the ".com" website?
funny, my charger also started doing the same thing (charging ridiculously slow) about a week ago. Didn't bother about warranty though.

I got my replacement & its not a refurbished device! Its a new one. :victory:
PS: It has no issues. My previous device had display bleed on left corner, but this one is perfect ^_^

I think the one mentioned in the thread is currently showing sold out on '.com' site.
Don't RMA for a charger when your phone is perfectly fine. The stock charger is slow,
http://www.amazon.com/BlackBerry-AC...8-4&keywords=blackberry+folding+blade+charger are the chargers we're talking about they're 1.8A.
http://www.amazon.com/BlackBerry-AC...8-4&keywords=blackberry+folding+blade+charger would be your best bet. The others are $5 for 1.
You can read about these chargers for http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo.../hands-best-fastest-cheapest-nexus-5-t2729066 ... I have these chargers, they work great. Got 2 for $5.
Anyone planning on or tried wireless charging yet? I see some decent reviews for the model below on Amazon. Just curious if it will charge quicker than my current phone (Nexus 6)?

The Pixel does not support wireless charging. You would need to install one of those stick on QI compliant receivers that plug into the USB C port.

I don't have first hand experience, but I see a few problems.
First, the USB C factory charger charges the phone to 70% in 15 minutes. It isn't like previous devices where you would throw it on the QI charger every spare moment because the battery took forever to charge. Second, the voltage output is not device specific and would take longer to charge the phone than using a standard USB C cable/charger.
I guess what I am saying is that yeah, any of the QI compliant stickers would work, but I ask, are they useful? I lived by QI on my Nexus 6, but seeing what type of battery life I get now, coupled with the ridiculously quick charge times, I no longer see the merit.
I don't mean to thread crap, but it took me a while to get over QI when weighing my options to upgrade. I honestly no longer miss wireless charging. I miss my dual facing stereo speaker and my almost 0 bezel from my Nexus 6, but not QI.
I hope this somewhat helps.

Definitely helps, and yes I too am struggling with just getting over wireless charging. It's just hard to cast aside all the wireless accessories (for 2 phones, my wife has one as well).
I think once there is an external DAC that has inline charging I'll happily dump the wireless charging idea haha!

Hello everyone, please could somebody help me which charger should I get to get the quick charger working again? When I got the phone, it wasnt working at first, later it started working, from 0-100% in 1 hour! Later it stopped and started again, now its not and I kinda miss it, it was really useful when I was in rush, any idea which one to buy? I am still using the original charger! Thats the one not working full speed, original stock.

...although it depends on the cable you use.
Maybe you only need a new cable for your current charger?
Also have you checked you haven't got any fluff/dirt in the charging port on your phone?
Hope this helps?
It was the cable. I tried the power bank cable and it works as its meant to, charged in about 1 hour. The phone says turbo chargo. I think I will get the anker charger though.
