Any Chance we'll see Lollipop on the TF300T? - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I haven't seen any mention of Tegra devices getting Lollipop. Just curious if anyone thinks it will be possible.

Only time will tell .... But I would not hold your breath .....
Thx Josh

Just thinking here. The original Nexus 7 is a Tegra 3 T-30 and the TF300T is an under clocked T-33 right? They are in the same family and the original Nexus 7 is rumored to get 5.0. Just trying to keep the hope alive :fingers-crossed:

Just to say. ..Nvidia shield is a tegra (4 )device too

Nexus tablet?

Whatever happened to the nexus tablet? There is no word on it anymore. Has it been scrapped? Any other tablets coming up soon? I'm in the market for one and was wondering what tablets are lined up this year.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I remember reading that it was supposed to come out in or around July. Supposedly being built by ASUS and with a $249 or lower price point. I have so far been completely underwhelmed by every Android tablet to date, but at $249 I would pick one up just for the heck of it.
There's the Asus MeMO pad. High specs at $250.
I'm also waiting for this. I hope we hear something soon.
Waiting for this as well

I believe the MeMO pad became the Nexus Tab. Last I heard, they were ditching the Tegra 3 in favor of a cheaper dual core SoC, and aiming to to get it down into the 149-199 range to go toe to toe with the Kindle Fire. Haven't heard much since though.
I think they r trying to keep it on the down low and surprise everyone. Rumors were June iirc

It will probably be announced at Google I/O in the summer
Tablet.
Oh I cant wait. not wanting anything else but an android tablet but it seems hard to pick the right one. I hope the Nexus Tablet ends all that.
I'm definitely getting a tablet soon, but I'm not really interested in Tegra devices. I guess I'll wait for something with an Exynos quad, but I guess I'll have to wait in that case, Samsung will probably make it an exclusive of the S3, at least for a while. I hope I'm wrong tho...

Actually, the Miezu MX Quad has been announced with the same Exynos chip even before the S3. I doubt Samsung would keep it exclusive...

Uh, you have to be more specific. What do you want to do with the tablet? Are you an Apple person, or an Android person? 7'? 8.9"? 10"?
you can try the galaxy note tablet
I'm looking for an android tablet. Either a 7" or 10". I was looking between the galaxy tabs 2 both in 7" and 10". Kinda read mixed reviews.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I would YouTube galaxy2 tab vs galaxy note and use spec difference. My personal opinion the note would be my choice because galaxy tab can be hassle with fc even in basic stock. But you gotta find the difference there
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I have a tab 2 10.1. It hasn't had any fc or problems. It also doesn't have very much dev support. It runs well for me, it's rooted, and I use it for watching movies and surfing the web.
Look into the note tablet and the nexus 7. Those are better tablets as far as specs go. They probably also have more dev support. Up to you though, the tab 2 works just fine for me.

Just got myself a nexus 7. Can't give a review or anything as I haven't even unboxed it yet. Personally, I wanted the nexus 10 but its just not in my budget right now. Little brother has an account through newegg so settled for that. Same price as it is through the play store too.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda
I've had a nexus 7 for a few months now. I love it. The constant android os updates are a huge plus for me. There's pretty good dev support, too. For the price, I'm shocked at how much I like it.
There are a few bugs with the screen. Some users report a horizontal line of burnt pixels developing, and other users report blurry edges. My nexus 7 developed the horizontal line last week. I made a three minute phone call and a new nexus 7 arrived two days later. Not bad at all. I've read the screen issues have been fixed as of now.
Oh, it's also easy as heck to root and maintain. Rooting took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish.
Edit:
It depends if u really want a similar experience as the skyrocket. I imagine the Samsung tablets may be a good pick. I found the uber clean stock Android 4.2 system on the N7 was simple enough for me to bounce and forth between the skyrocket and not go bald or blind from stress.

I looking to get a new android tablet that will last me a while but am not too sure what to choose. I really like the Asus Transformer TF300T-A1 and am thinking about getting it. I don't understand. Please help me out. How can everyone recommend nexus 10 when there are so many problems with it? I bought mine about 5 days ago and its already crashed over a dozen times. I came here looking for something I can replace it with. I'm having many issues and so are others. People were expecting an update months ago. I don't even think Google acknowledges all these bugs. Did someone figure out a way to stop these crashes or something I don't know about? Please help. Why should I keep it?

This is how it is. Most people keep talking about the specifications which a device boasts. But in reality, there are numerous things to consider. Nexus 10 is an amazing device, but as you said, it does have its own issues. One should look for something from Samsung as even though little expensive, they produce better devices.
in dealextreme there are a lot, and very cheap
Nexus 7 is a really good deal. Or Nexus 10.

Sadly, that is always the case.
Hey at least we get to extend the life of our phones to another flavor of Android!
In any case, shame on Verizon in advance...

That's good news. If it comes out on one of the US variants a port will bring it to the other versions.
Either way it's good news all the way around whether if T-Mobile, Verizon, or At&t get it first.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't it easier for devs to develop on official OTAs rather than porting something over?

Actually it is easier to develop from AOSP. It is also easy to port from the same phone but different carriers. The difficulty comes from porting from one device to another.

We don't all want AOSP. We know its easier because devs get full control of the ROM, unlike having to deal with an issue on touchwiz.

Planning to Buy Core - Some Queries

Hello all
I am planning to buy Galaxy Core but I have a few queries.
1) What are the chances of Core getting 4.2.2 update?
2) How is the game play? I mean does game like Subway Surf, Temple Run etc run Smoothly on this phone or there is some lag?
3) I won't install many apps (max 12-15 notably Temple Run all 4, Subway surf, Facebook, whatsapp, Truecaller, etc), will I still face random redraws of the launcher? Asking as I read some reviews of users facing this.
4) How is the battery life? It will be used mostly with 3g on all the time and about 20 minutes game and 30 minutes of calling and of course whatsapp, will it last a full day? Say 8am to 11pm.
5) Any other good alternative to this of reputable manufacturers only (please no micromax or any china brand)
I have to get it tomorrow only so quick comments will be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards

Can't wait mate and don't have good experience with Sony Phones plus where I live we don't have service center of sony anywhere near us.
For every small issue we need to send it for service which take nearly 20 -30 days to get back.
It's also out of my budget mate. I need to buy upto 12.5k only.
