Hi fellow relayists. I found an app that can bypass the lockscreen on keyboard open.
It looks like developed for Android 2.x, but I've just tested it and it works.
Hope you find it useful too.

actually, it doesn't work completely to my satisfaction. sometimes it misses the keyboard open event

Seeing as how you were able to add multi touch & auto rotate to the default browser, how hard would it be to rip the onscreen keyboard from chompsms & add it to the default messaging app?
I don't like chompsms cuz I get a lot of force closes with it & it doesn't always give me the notification. Also there's the problem that it doesn't work with MMS. I'm just curious if this can be done & maybe if someone is up to it, it can be their next project?
Im not either of them but the auto rotate and multi touch support was already in the source code but was made to where it would not be used. they just found the source code and made it to where it would be used.
it would actually be easier to get the onscreen keyboard from cupcake and rewrite it to work then for them to break down the chompsms program to see its code and to modify it. y would they waste time copying a iphone clone the to modify whats already out there in cupcake. the are trend setters so they probably wont stand for copying chompsms when they could be the first to enable auto rotate and onscreen keyboard in the default messaging app.
they might actually be working on it as we speak

Email the developer with your problems. They actually respond to feedback. I can't wait till the t9 keyboard comes out!
autorotate can be added with droidsans app for root users (market)
So i as i was sitting outside smoking a cig i got to thinking, how difficult would it be to implement some of the gestures i loved from the pre? the epic has the necessary hardware..it'd just be a matter of writing the code to acknowledge your gestures and implement them into actions
forward/back: theres 4 touch capacitive buttons on the bottom of the screen, if your finger is detected hitting one button then 1-3 more can a forward/back be implemented?
closing app/screen unlock/show notifications: if you move your finger from one of the 4 capacitative buttons in an upward motion onto the very bottom of the screen and up can closing app/screen unlock/show notifications be implemented?
There is no support in android for the "gesture area" so you'd have to write code for all of that, integrate it into android and then create something functional out of it. In laymans terms it's not happening
Be positive

So how do you know this guy isn't the baddest coder you've ever seen? Don't be so negative
Because we gots hardware and capacitive buttons that makes gestures useless... plus every app would need to be coded to respond to the gesture... so, yeah, its not happening.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
buy a pre.
Take a look at Gesture by Google in the app market. It works wonderful, but could it be implemented in the OS itself, not in just the app?
Hello,
I am developing an application and I want this always accessible, specifically when it activates the lock screen. How I can program a launcher from the lock screen? or Maybe, need to create my own launcher?, also hope that this Android 2.2 +
I recommend you
thank you very much
Hello all,
I'm currently trying to port some applications and games to the Android Wear platform, and there are several that work very well with one exception - they rotate the screen. Is there any way I can decompile the APK and remove screen rotation? Or is not that simple?
Hi
My mother's S7 phone on stock Android 8, Samsung Experience v9.0 is missing this option and she finds her ihome screen cons are constantly moving or disappearing, presumably because she is long pressing the icons by mistake and then swiping them.
Is there an app (or less preferably ROM) which provides this functionality? All the ones on Play just lock the screen and not the icons.
I asked on the Samsung forum and someone just said to upgrade the phone - doh!
Is there a way to use a different home screen UI is the Samsung one is not modifiable by apps?
It's frustrating that developers are not catering to more senior members who are much more prone to doing this thing. Not everyone has young nimble fingers!
