Hi all,
As per my username, I'm not technically minded, so please accept my apologies in advance if I'm a bit slow on the uptake. I've just restored my phone back to stock through "mfastboot" as advised on another thread. Following this, I updated my phone to the latest version. I'm trying now to encrypt my phone through settings -> security, When I press to encrypt it, it asks for my pin and then there's a picture of an android with a green outline which appears for a brief second before the phone reboots itself. Nothing that I can see has changed.
Can anyone tell me what I can try?
Thanks
your recovery is stock?

It's not, it's TWRP. Is that the reason why?

Hello I recently had a friend of mine root my Mytouch Q (LG C-800) This process went perfectly. However after I began to remove the bloatware with titanium, my first attempt being 411. Upon re-starting the phone scrolls some command line looking yellow text with a little android guy jumping out of a box in the back ground. This happens rather quickly but I was able to read the text "cant mount system app: live sound" "aborting installation" "starting factory re set" "factory re set failed" and "re starting factory re set" this process will continue over and over until the battery is removed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
wrong forum.... but flash a nandroid backup if you made one or flash another rom. if you can find that .apk you erased you can try to push it with adb while in recovery.
Do be very careful trying to remove things you consider to be "bloatware" especially with these T-Mobile phones. They spend alot of time tying "their stuff" into the framework of the ROM and when it ends up missing your phone will just go stupid on you. If you REALLY know what you're doing go ahead using Titanium but my suggestion would be to use "My Backup Pro". It will do everything you need but at the same time, when it finds a "system" file, 99% of the time if you shouldn't remove it, it won't let you. There are a couple of social media apps that are like that on our phone. Just my 2 cents worth........
I am sorry I do not understand what you mean wrong forum. The phone would not show up when in adb and recovery mode via button combination yields no results either. Please advise the correct forum and I would be happy to re start the thread, thanks.

This forum is for the MyTouch 4G Slide, not the MyTouch Q. They are completely different phones with completely different hardware and operating systems. There is nothing in common with them other than the MyTouch name. Our phone is made by HTC, yours is made by LG.
I recently let my brother root my zte avid from metroPCS. He deleted some google files that included the setup file for factory reset. I attempted to factory reset my phone today and now it is stuck on the first setup screen, On the main Welcome screen, when you choose the language and press next it says "unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped." I took the phone to my metropcs coporate store and they told me i need to "backdoor" the device to "unroot" so that they can "fix" the original software. I am not familiar with "backdoor" or "unroot". They told me it was a paperweight till i reversed the root. He got the root instructions from this site. PLEASE if someone can help me resolve this problem it would be much appreciated. I apologize if this thread is posted in the wrong section. I am new to this and still learning.

So I am still running STOCK android rooted/ S-OFF/ TWRP Recovery, and have updated the firmware/radios per the thread in this forum. But I still have the OTA for 4.4.3 showing up every time I turn on my screen. I was wondering if there is a way to disable OTAs from popping up and also where the update file(s) is/are stored so that I can delete them.
Thanks again.

UPDATE: I know I posted in the wrong forum, I don't think I can move. Apologies.

Definitely wrong place for this but if you freeze or remove the updater apk an the HTC download plug-in settings will disable an remove software update from your settings. I would contact @tonstark to have this move asap let me know if that worked for you if he has moved thread pm me.
here is my problem, I work as a sysadmin however my knowledge of Linux (android) is sort of limited compared to windows.
I recently was brought an ACER Iconia B1-720 which has gotten infected with a seemingly vey harsh strain of virus, it keeps popping up lock screens, and if the tablet connects to internet the AD spam is massive.
trying to do a factory reset, didn't help, nor a hard reset since after the initial setup all the infected software is there.
also the USB debugging option is nowhere to be seen on the settings menu, and APPs don't have the uninstall button, thus after taking into consideration all this, I have gotten to the conclusion my best bet is to sideload from the PC into the tablet a recovery firmware using ADB, however ADB is not recognizing the tablet when I type "adb devices" and thus I m left at a lost of what should I do to recover this tablet into working condition.
can someone please advice me on what to do? or how I could restore the tablet? is there any sort of command line or software I could install in the tablet to manage and clean it manually?
I managed to disable most of the crapware and make the table usable WITHOUT internet connection, so I m assuming I can use the SD card to load some app into it to fix it manually, what app could I use?
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
Try looking through this thread and posting your question there, if it won't let you post it will be because you need to make 10 posts before you can post in a development thread. You need your stock firmware if it is in that thread among the variants of your model.

To get your 10 posts in you can go to one of the Off-Topic(OT) Forum linked below. Choose one the threads there to make your 10 posts then go post your issue in the first thread I linked you to.

hi,
I upgraded my phone to OOS10 and forgot to take precautionary measures. Now I don't have TWRP or root. I tried patching my own boot image and even tried the patched ones but the phone refuses to boot.
At this point I'm willing to try and return my phone to how it came from factory and start from scratch. What is the best way to do so with clean slots a and b and locked bootloader and take it from there?
Thanks for your help.
Edit: Apologies for posting in the wrong section, can I please ask a mod to move this to the Question section?

There is the .70 version of TWRP and you can boot the image and then flash full TWRP and Magisk.
