Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000), running cm-11-20141005-NIGHTLY-n7000 (KitKat 4.4.4), with pa_gapps-stock-4.4.4-20140930.
OS is set to use Dalvik runtime. Time zone database was updated to the latest version (2014f) using the "TimeZone Fixer" app.
I have set a Israeli timezone, which is a GMT+2 standard time zone, but DST is in effect till 26/10/14, so these days the effective timezone is GMT+3.
I'm experiencing a weird problem with the time indications of some apps.
The clock on the status bar shows the correct time, as well as the clock & weather widget I have on my home screen (widget is part of the "Beautiful Widgets" pack).
However, some apps are incorrectly showing GMT+2 timestamps. Some apps that I noticed were exhibiting the problem: WhatsApp, Google Now, Google Calendar, Hangouts. For example, when I send a message in WhatsApp, the message is immediately shown in the log with a -1 hour timestamp.
Changing the timezone to another one, e.g. Helsinki (Eastern European Summer Time), which is also DST at the moment, fixes the problem. So apparently there is some funny business going on with Israel timezone.
I have already turned off "automatic network provided time" and "automatic time zone" when the problem became apparent to me, but it seems that this had no effect on the problem.
I can work around the problem by maintaining the EEST timezone, but it is obvious to me that it is only a workaround, and that there is some problem here.
Any advices? Ideas?
Thanks in advance.
The problem occurs in stock 4.4 firmware too. I haven't seen any solution other than the Athens timezone workaround. If the problem is common to all timestamps in apps, I would suspect an Android issue.

Neither my wife's TP2 nor mine appears to be able to update weather. Both are running the stock 6.5/2.5 ROM.
When I try to update weather I get the "Connection Error" popup as if I didn't have internet connectivity. However, I have no trouble at all updating the Stocks or Twitter tabs, using a browser, etc.
I've tried 1x, EVDO, Activesync, and WiFi (each by itself with all other access methods disabled). This leads me to conclude the problem lies either with the weather server or with the HTC Sense weather application itself.
Oddly, my weather last updated around 10PM on April 22nd but my wife's updated until 7AM on the 23rd. Both are set to update hourly.
Neither of us has installed or updated any software or changed any settings in the last several days. I think the last time my wife did this would've been shortly after the 6.5/2.5 update came out.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, has anyone identified a solution?
Hello,
I have searched this forum and others. I may have missed the answer.. I see where others have reported similar problems with Sense Home page weather not working. But have not seen a solution to the issue.
I am running
Windows 6.5.5
Manila version 2.5.2
Radio 2.23
On VZW with mightyrom relased on 5/1/2010
I noticed that "my location" weather was not updating on another rom. I flashed to MightyRom and for a day my location did update. But stopped after that. If I add a near by city (columbia, sc) it does update fine. GPS on my phone works via garmin and google maps. If I enable WiFi "my location weather" updates fine. I have removed "forecast_cache", without any fix.
Does anyone have a suggestion? If I missed the solution please forgive.
Airave will ruined it for me; as soon as I leave the house or turn off the Airave all is well, but I doubt that applies to you. Sprint confirmed this for me last night.
did you double-check to make sure Location service is on, not just 911? there are separate Sense and WM settings, check/toggle them all, followed with a reboot.
try to update it frequently in 5-10 secs interval
apologies for the thread ressurection, but...
anybody ever find a solution to this?
"my location" weather doesn't work in my home area, but I've travelled out of the state, and it works fine everywhere else.
01/30/11 is the last time it updated in my home area.
GPS works fine, weather for manually entered locations works fine
Verizon says its HTC, HTC says its a local Verizon problem.
have done a hard reset, and even flashed a new rom, no changes
Hello,
I am having strange issues with Motorola ES400 with WM 6.5.3. Sometimes the internal alarm clock starts an hour earlier. Then, when I go to the alarm settings and re-activate the current alarm, it starts again at the correct time. The system is in English, the timezone is GMT+1, Sync to current timezone is selected, regional settings is to Czech.
I tried to set time zone to GMT+0 but after sync with PC it changes back to GMT+1, which is logical, but this shall not be the reason, I guess.
Any suggestions or experience?
i am also having this issue .please help
today it happeden again and I thing it has some relation to the fact that the phone was on the charger during the night. I'm gonna test this.
Hi Guys
I have this issue too, I work for a Moto reseller but even we haven't had much response. I wil definitely share what I get here though as I have some calls logged in now.
Please also get back to the thread with anything you find. This is really frustarting.
Can I ask what SIM cards you're both using and which country you're in?

Hi!
I received my new Nexus 5 last week. Great device!
Unfortunately, I have a small problem when connecting my N5 to my car's nav (BMW 3series 2012 model, new NBT sat nav) system.
Battery drains quickly, because the Bluetooth connection prevents a deep sleep.
In particular, I get a StartingObexMAPTransaction wakelock.
I made some screenshots to illustrate the problem (Screenshots are in German, sorry. But I hope you get the idea).
Is there anything I can configure on my Nexus 5 to circumvent the wake lock?
I will inform BMW of the problem, but I really doubt there will be a fix anytime soon.
What i also observed is, that the nav system cannot display e-mails from my N5, although the MAP profile seems active. Just text messages are displayed. This worked with my previous phone (Galaxy S2 I9100, SlimBean ROM with 4.3.1).
Has anyone an idea?
Thanks for your time!

I've had this exact issue with my 2012 Prius since I got my N5. It has persisted through all OTA updates and roms like CM/Omni. I am using stock right now. I've done factory resets periodically whenever I switch roms and the problem is always there. I haven't tried 4.4.3 yet. Just like OP my phone stays awake the entire time I am driving and BBS shows StartingObexMAPTransaction for that exact amount of time.
My workaround is to pair the phone and deny it access to text messages when it asks. I give it contacts and call history but deny the SMS popup and the problem goes away. The downside is you lose SMS access on your headunit.
I don't know why reports of this are not more prevalent. I suspect it only crops up on certain cars/headunits.
I have the T-Mobile version of the Gear S2 Classic. So if I use the wake up command to set an alarm on the watch, let's say its 4:00pm and I want to set it for 5:15pm (one hour and 15 minutes later). It will set the alarm with the proper day highlighted, but when I check the alarm app, I find that it has been set to the next day at that time. Anyone have this issue?
I have chatted with Samsung support who recommended factory resetting the watch, which didn't work. I went to my local T-Mobile store, explained the situation and attempted an exchange. I updated the software right there in the store and it did the same thing.
To update, I found another person who also has the S2 Classic (wifi version), and was able to replicate the problem right away. This looks like it's a software bug. What is the best way to contact Samsung about this?
I noticed the same problem today. It's the first time I tried using S Voice to set an alarm. I couldn't figure out why it didn't go off, but when I checked the alarms it was set for tomorrow instead of today.
Found similar problems reported by others: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/Gear-S2-Classic-3g-Verizon-won-t-set-an-alarm-for-later-in-the/td-p/4301
I verified the same problem. While totally inconvenient, you can "fix" it by going into the alarm app, then deactivate and reactivate the alarm. It will correct the date, and fire the alarm when it's supposed to.
It's a bug, and the likelihood of Samsung acknowledging it is about nil. I've seen a consistent pattern or utter denial regarding real S/W bugs, pretending like it needs rebooting and other such nonsense. Real software engineering would have duplicated the problem immediately, logged the bug, and acknowleged it to customers with a promise it will be fixed in the next update.
