[Q] Paranoid Android Heads UP notification for Cyanogenmod 11 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know, they both have heads up but PA has better designed heads up with gestures like swipe up to remove it but keep it in status bar. I also like that its sticked up to status bar unlike on cyanogenmod where its almost on center of the screen. My question now is, is it possible to get heads up notifications like in PA on CM 11?

In PA it's called hover.
Why not just run PA?

Because CM have duped all the "noobs" into thinking that cm is the only/best ROM available.

I don't think CM is best ROM. I like cm features more then PA and it runs more smoothly

Yeah yeah

I'm not really here to debate, I'm just asking is it possible to get hover feature on cm 11?

And it really annoyed me on PA that it takes 3 seconds to open recent tabs menu on franco kernel and stock pa kernel, idk why. It's slow
Plus I was active PA user, but when they removed HALO it made me switch to CM

Yes it is. Set up a build environment (Linux Ubuntu or Mint), sync the CM11 sources locally, identify the Hover commits from the PA github repository, cherry-pick them, resolve any conflicts and build.

You don't need to "program". You need to know how to sync repo's, use github and build. Since this is a develoeprs forum, you're in the best place to learn.
If you're not wanting to learn, the quick answer to your original question is "no".

I think I have an idea. PAC rom has all features of CM, PA and AOKP, I can just install PAC and run all cm features + have hover? Am I right?

No idea. Have a read / ask in their thread. What are these "CM Features" that are so special?
Is it the ability to take the work of other developers and turn it into financial reward?

I'm used to some of their features which I got used to and I can't use my phone without them anymore. And CM is rom in which is invested over millions and millions of dollars. They are continuously trying to improve it.

Most features of CM are available in other ROMs. And half of CM's features are taken from other ROMs, or is their own implementation/variation of the feature from another ROM.

Btw, I'm really interested on a senior and experienced member like you, which ROM are you preferring?

Preference is a very personal thing. What I like has nothing to do with me being experienced or "senior"
I Just like what I like.

What do you think is the better ROM to flash (of the KitKat ROMs).
Omni, CyanFox, SlimKat, or CM11?
Also, do any of the above feature Screen Recording thanks to KitKat's ability to do so, without needing ADB?
Vote in the poll on what you like as well, so I can get an idea even from those who don't want to reply.
EDIT: Meant to post in the General Section; can a mod please move this thread?

No, omni will possibly be official in future. They already merged needed patches for our device and i9082. But the frameworks patch can't be included in their sources, so I need a native vibration fix first

[Q] How to add Halo notification to any ROM!

Hey there!
I'm sure that a lot of people has asked about this. I found a couple of threads that talked about this but without any complete answer.
I WANT TO PUSH THE HALO NOTIFICATION TO MY ROM
I know there is a way to do something looks like Halo by installing floatification app with some xposed module but i don't want that! I want a way to just flash or push or copy or any simple way that doesn't make me use github.
HELP ME PLEASE!!!
Sorry dude. If you want halo you have to compile it in with your ROM build. It's not just an apk, it is in the framework and your framework has to match the rest of your ROM....

Hey bro! I know that it's not an app, but i know that it's nothing but codes that i can add it to any rom. The problem is that I'm not a developer so i don't know how to add it to my rom all the lessons are for pro-devs! I want something easy!

Let me simplify this for you because it appears you don't understand.
You can't easily add it to any ROM. You need to compile the code into your ROM while you are building it. If you aren't a developer you have 2 choices: learn how to do it, or use a ROM that someone else has compiled it with.

Yes it's stable but not complete, for example; when I use immersive mode, some apps shows the nav bar without the icons of it! I faced a lot of problem, not much but they are in the important part of my usage..

I have no idea what that means but we have a bug tracker for tracking issues. You need to submit screenshots or ways to reproduce to the bug tracker. Expecting us to know every little use case is a little outside the realm of possibilities. How can we fix something we know nothing about?

Anything outside of that is considered a legacy device. In answer to your question though, build 4.44 is considered stable and 4.5alpha2 is, well. Alpha

aosp vs los

What is the main difference between Lineage OS based roms vs AOSP based roms. Which one is better? Technically aosp based roms should not come with alot of features but actually roms like Nitrogen OS, AOSP extended, Hyperunicorns, cosmic comes with alot of features. If i want a fluid smooth experience should i use aosp based rom or los based rom

There is no difference between LOS and AOSP , los is just a modded version of AOSP adding more features to your phone than standalone vanilla aosp would....... u want best of both worlds use LOS or MOKEE with custom kernel like boeffla ....... can tweak how u want it to be battery friendly or power .........

HI ,
what i mean in pure AOSP is a rom like what you would get on google phone ......all these so called AOSP roms almost 95% of them are based on LOS ( forked aosp ) with a little tweak here n there ..........closest AOSP rom non based LOS rom would be OMNIROM..........Now your question what was the prime difference between AOSP and LOS ........LOS has more built in security and is more customizable........if u download a pure AOSP rom you would actually see how bare bones those roms are.........hardly any features and settings .........
