[Q] RootCloak - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anything like this that is available for CM or aosp ROMS...?

This is simply an application that hides root from other apps that reject rooted devices, correct? Try 'Hide My Root'

Securing stock/Slim ROM

I'm looking for ways to bolt down security on the stock Sony ROM or the slim ROM. I'm on slim 4.9 right now. I have all the standard security items in place)(Pin protection, malware scanners, FOSS apps when I can) but I'm looking for some more specific things. I'm looking for a feature that's in cyanogenmod. I want the ability to deny apps the capability to access things they don't need. For example, if a messaging app needs my mic, deny access to that.
Is this doable with xposed? I know next to nothing about the xposed framework.

Yes, that's also possible on stock or stockbased rom's, regardless of the device. And yes, you need Xposed (and of course root for that).
Install Xposed Installer by rovo89 (you need xposed-v80-sdk22-arm.zip [you need to install it via recovery, e.g. TWRP] and XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk for your device).
Right after flashing the zip, wipe cache and dalvik/art, then reboot. After the reboot, install the alpha4.apk (don't forget to enable "unknown sources" in "Security" of the "Settings" tab before). Right after that, open "Xposed Installer" app tap "Framework" -> "Reboot" and confirm the root access.

3. Install M66B's XPrivacy module

Good luck!

Has anyone made a list of root apps that work with the Pixel?

Newly rooted and, search as much as I might, I've been unable to find a list of root apps that are working on the Pixel. Does anyone know of one?
If not, what apps have you installed and found to work?
I'm running Greenify, root explorer, betterbatstats (working halfway until we can flash as system app).
Titanium Backup, Adaway (special version for Nougat), Root Explorer, SD Maid, Busybox. That's all I've used so far with no issues.

"Cannot Create Work Profile" Error

I recently downloaded an app called "Island" from the google play store and stumpled across this problem:
"The security policy prevents the creation of a work profile because a Custom OS has been installed on this device.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 (7.0)
Rooted with Unofficial Xposed Framework (by PurifyOS)
Also have Superkernel v2.70 installed.
Is there a way to bypass this using an Xposed module or other rooted applications?
You can try xTouchWiz Xposed module which has a function to fake the system status as Official instead of Custom under the security hacks section.
Alternatively you can use Magisk which should hide everything but Xposed from apps.
What worked for me was connecting the device to wifi or putting in an activated sim card before doing the work profile setup process.
Same problem here (S9 Soldier Rom), did someone made it work?
No one yet?
Has anyone gotten this to work?

I don't have Xposed but I recently rooted with Magisk. And MagiskHide is not working for this. Do we have to hide system apps as well? I actually get this error when I add my Gsuite work account.

Rights for root access and visibility (admin vs normal user)

Hi, are there some ways to have control of root access just for a person who knows some "root password" (for an administrator), and limit/disable root access for a normal user?
E.g. to change superuser or root access password? Set-up/change the root login password? Or some other ways?
Also what do you think of SuperSU, Hide my Root, and similar apps for this case?
I need to setup security/make limitations on "super user", or at least disable root temporarily when a normal user is using the device (and reenable root when an administrator needs to make system/app changes etc.)
Also: what is the way to hide (as much as possible) root access (and the fact that the device is rooted) from Apps and the normal user?
ROM is LG G3 d855 RESURRECTION REMIX 7.1.1_r9
