When I repeatedly press the vol + and vol - buttons, the phone will vibrate. If I then try and use it, it goes really slow... Then a few seconds after starting to use it, it will triple vibrate and be back to normal. Is this some kind of "feature" or what?
I'm using CM7 and tiamat kernel, but I think it did it with the regular CM kernel.
Just confirmed this happening with my CM7.1.1 Stable and Tiamat 1.1.5 too.
Can't imagine they put a 'make phone dead laggy' feature, probably just a bug, but one not everyone is likely to encounter in normal use. Holding both volume buttons and then holding power button does a hard reset. Perhaps it thinks you are about to do that, and when you don't press the power button, it backs off. Just guessing of course.
Report it in the CM7 development thread along with aLogcat and Nexx will be on it very quickly.
I have the stock gingerbread ROM with the latest update on my MT4G. When I am using my phone, the power option prompt will randomly appear. I have to cancel it to continue. Sometimes it will reappear repeatedly.
Anyone experienced this issue?
Your power button is giving in.
This may sound silly, but it happens to me all the time when the phone is in landscape mode, I hit it and don't even know it. I say this because you mention that it only happens when using your phone. If it were a power button going bad, it would happen when the phone its not being touched, but unlocked.
Had to send to HTC for repair. It fixed now
Anyone else get this?
Every so often randomly I'll press the power button to lock the screen and nothing will happen. Press it again and it'll work with a buzz. Then a bug report pops up
Presumably for it to pop a bug report it must be a software issue?

Vol up and power button will start a big reporting
Hey, I recently had my friend flash the unofficial CyanogenMod10 ROM onto my HTC Desire C (Non-NFC version)
I am encountering an error where about 80% of the time when my phone is asleep, and I press the power button to wake it, it will flash on and then go back to sleep.
If I press the power button as quick as I possibly can it will still happen, however; if I hold it down it will stay on until I let it go, at which point it will definitely go back to sleep; I honestly don't know what's happening.
It sometimes also occurs when I've taken a screenshot; it has a high chance of going to sleep when I take my finger off of the power button, same as when I hold down to view the power menu. (That shows reboot, turn off, airplane mode, etc.) and when let go of the button it usually also shuts off, what's happening, is this a problem with the ROM, or something I may have changed?
Also this issue only started occurring about 2 days after the initial flash, whereas until the point everything was working nice and smoothly.
This issue is really annoying...
P.S: Would I be better off using the newest JellyTime ROM rather than the vanilla CM ROM on my Desire C?
Thanks!
Hello everyone,
I was flashing MIUI official on my nexus 5, and I was in bootloader, and I was just simply press power button then devices just turned off and
wont start again. after turned off, device dont start using power button, then I connect power source, device just started and rebooting again and again, without power source device dont start, and when it starts on power source, device just rebooting continuously,
Service center said you need to change mother board.
It is necessary to change board or this is just a problem of power button stuck inside
Any sujection?
I suggest removing the motherboard. Then, quickly press and release the power button several times in a row using more pressure than normal. Not too much pressure as you don't want to cause any further damage.
If that doesn't solve the problem, it could be a battery issue.

I have not flashed my phone but have kept it up to date. I have version 6.01 build MMB29Q. I have had the issue during the last two weeks with it restarting but then just going off again. I have a separate Nexus 5 I user for parts for these situations. I replaced the motherboard got it up and running, everything seemed fine but then the power would just go off for no reason. The only way I could get it to restart was by holding the volume down for 10 seconds and then selecting the power button. The difference with this motherboard is that it will at least start up. I did change the battery as well and that did not make any difference. At this point I am thinking about flashing with a different OS to see if that fixes it. I unfortunately do not have a fix but I am at least at a point where I know how to keep it functional. Any further fix suggestions would be appreciated. I think my next step will be to flash it with a different OS to see if this issue persists.

I tried that bro, I searched on google I tried everything, hold power button for 10 seconds, and more pressure and lot of things, I think I have to check power button and battery, I will give my phone in shop not in service center xD
Thank you

I am confused, its battery issue or power button issue, I will try to repair my phone in shop not in service center
Chances are that you have the same problem I had with the power button.
My N5 had this behavior and was about to be replaced when I found something that worked. Try this: press and hold the power button several times with more pressure than usual. If no luck, smack it a few times (no kidding) in a table - I suggest you to do it with a cover. The main problem is with the switch soldered on the motherboard and the above steps is to 'unlock / release' the internal parts of this switch - the main culprit.
Several people had this issue and the spank showed to be useful: LINK
My N5 is working just fine, almost two weeks now. Good luck!
