it seem MIUI6 has disabled the option to clear default in Launcher thus make it is not possible to change the default launcher to other Launchers. Is there any way to set default launcher ?

Settings -> installed apps -> default apps (the little gear icon on the bottom of the page).
There you'll get a list (launcher, calls, messaging, browser, ...) and you can choose another app as default app.
Settings > Display > Default Launcher

I accidently set my launcher on my Galaxy S to the default android laucher. I cannot figure out how to get the ADW launcher as the default launcher again. Could somebody tell me how? BTW i didnt "crack" my galaxy S my friend did. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

Or you can go into Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications, select All tab, then find and go into the stock launcher app and press the Clear Defaults button.
Hi I just picked up a new CX-803 II and found that anytime I install a new launcher or video player act. I do not get the option to change the default app even if I try to force the change in apex launcher ect. The option won't pop up and it drops back to the home screen to further annoy the launcher resets the wallpaper to the one included in its themes anytime the stick is restarted. Can this be changed/fixed?.

Unortunately I already have done, it seems that this stick has disabled the ability to switch "intent" apps, like video/music players, launchers ect. i'm not sure if there is a way to re-enable it. I picked this device because it has 2GB of onboard ram on it and and external antenna, but not being able to switch launchers or even have it use my own wallpapers is a real drag. almost wondering that if there's no way to fix it if swapping out the launchers apk with a different one would work or if it would just brick it.
it's funny that this thing comes rooted out of the box but doesn't allow changing of default apps.
Well with some experimenting I was able to change the launcher by placing a copy of trebuchet in system/apps rebooting using launcher changer to set trebuchet as default and then renaming the default launchers extension to .bak. This doesn't address the bigger problem of not being able to change the default intent apps though.
But it is nice to have my aquarium live wallpaper as the background on my TV now

What do you mean by it doesn't work? If you mean that it won't be set as default, make sure you have the Google app installed. If you have that, set Google Now as the launcher by opening Settings, Manage Apps, Default App Settings (it is on the bottom bar), then Launcher. Select Google Now.

Hi All,
I've recently upgraded from an S6 to an S7 - have also rooted but can't seem to get the alphabet app drawer CSC setting to work. Normally I would have to set the "Enable View By Alphabet As Default" setting to "true" then reboot the phone, but am still on the current layout with the A-Z button at the top.
Do these settings no longer work for the S7 or is there an alternative way to get the app drawer to automatically sort from A-Z?

The stock launcher blows, anyway. Just use a 3rd party.

obviously I was referring to something different, because the three options offered by the stock launcher are not satisfactory, since even with the third option they are always too small.
Basically I would like to do what you can do with a custom launcher, but with the stock launcher. Is there anything you can do with root? Magisk module, etc etc

A third party launcher is MUCH easier, as well as safer, than trying to root your phone just to get larger icons!
