[Q] Android SQL client :: SSL error - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
So i am trying to connect to a PostgreSQL DB from my android device.
I've tried it on my nexus 7 with TabSQL app (paid), on my HTC one X with same app and on my LG G3 with both TabSQL and Connect2SQL apps.
These apps have support for PostgreSQL databases.
the problem i'm getting is:
When ever i check SSL on, i receive the error: "SSL error: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException : Trust anchor for path not found"
The db that i am trying to connect to is from my school, I know that i pass the right host,port,... cause it works on my computer.
I suspect that i have to add an SSL-certificate ? I wouldn't have a clue on how to do so though.
Thanks in advance...

Com port config app for Google Maps

Here is a port selection utility I wrote to configure GMM and other WM5 GPS API based applications on the Smartphone platform. Unzip, copy to your phone and run to select comm port for GMM to use.
Tested on HTC S620 but should be ok for DASH and other WM5 smartphones.
Enjoy!
NOTE: Changing the "enabled" state requires a phone restart to take effect including the initial run
Very nice work. If I hadn't already done it on my dash i'd test it for you. But I don't see why things would differ.
Good job, this should be very helpful to others.
Great job, it works on my dopod C720w. Thanks a lot!
thanks a lot worked like a charm i had done all the registry work but still without success but used the program to set to com6 and gmm finally saw the bt gps. thanks for the little program.

This app is for WM5 Smartphones.
PPCs have GPS config exposed in the settings page.
Thanks! Works fine on my SDA.
works great
Just thought I'd note to any n00b's out there that you need to have your phone app unlocked to make this work (due to teh fact that you are making registry changes). Don't ask me how I know
works on my tmobile dash, love it
Need Help
Hello folks!
Could someone please let me know how to setup the application - like the details on how to choosee the COM port?
I have installed the GoogleMaps and while installing the GPSCOM application, I had set it "Enabled" and selected 'COM6' and saved. Still, when trying to connect from GMM, I am getting the message, unable to locate the GPS device.
Any Help?
Thanks.
Try this on WM6
Hi,
What is the worst possible scenario in trying this on WM6?
working with the blackjack
I have a blackjack and the registry is locked for editing. When I ran this program I got an error along the same lines.
"
GPSCOM.exe
ExternalExeption
An error occured creating the registry key.
RegistryKey::CreateSubKey+0x65
RegistryKey::CreateSubkey+0x8
Form1::ctor+0xec
Form1:Mail+0xa
"
Is there a way to unlock the registry?
My Q doesn't run executeables (exe). Did I miss a step to run GPSCOM.exe on my Q?

If I recall there was a forum member with a Moto Q that reported it worked for him/her. Check back near the start of this thread and perhaps try contacting them ?

You need to set up a new outgoing com port to your GPS device.
Go into the communication manager.
Select settings/bluetooth settings
Menu/ COM Ports
Menu/ New Outgoing Port
Select your bluetooth device and make the port number the same as you used in the GPSCOM app (I think it defaults to 6). Then when you run google maps and track location (GPS) it should totally work.
Doesn't work with my dash for some reason.
Am I missing something?
Where exactly do I put the file? Because when I execute in my Dash, here's the message I get.
Error

Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.

ExternalException

RegistryKey::CreateSubKey+0x65
RegistryKey::CreateSubKey+0x8
Form1::ctor+0xec
Form1::Main+0xa
Can anyone please help.

You need to app unlock to run unsigned software which needs to edit the registry. See the first link here:

Not working on Q
I had Mapopolis working with my Route66 BTGPS on my Q but really like GMM. Installed GPSCOM set it to Com1 (also tried com9) and now both Mapopolis and GMM lock up just after the select device screen.
Help, please

As a Sys admin myself you can use an RDP app.
in the app use your login credential domain\username and then the servers IP and port (most likely 3389)
The interfacing of how to use it can be a little slow, if you need help PM me

Htc sync? I have a nexus one and I've saw that it's not compatible.
Any help please?
HTC Synch has nothing to do with SSH. You must have an ssh app for android and ssh services running on pc. may need root as well, not 100 on that though anymore.
Something that is a little bit different, but may be of interest to you... You could always try out teamviewer? I use it on Windows and connect with my Sensation and it works a treat. Also has Linux support.
Unfortunately I cannot post links just yet, but just Google (or Bing ) 'teamviewer'.
Google "ssh passwordless login", then figure out how it applies to your software. My setup uses OpenSSH on both Androids and PCs; Dropbear and ConnectBot is also possible, as is a sshd for Android..
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
download sshdroid in your android, then use any SSH application on your PC.. (e.g. WinSCP)
To do this without entering a password, you would use an unprotected private key. I do not recommend this.
You'd also need to add the associated public key as an allowed key on the PC.

[Q] BubbleUpnP Server issues

Got a new Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 for Christmas and trying to connect it to my PC so I can watch my videos there. Complete ignorant on the topic... Apparently BubbleUPnP is this app that would let me do this. Had to install the server on the PC first. Did this, but after install I get an error message: ERROR: Cuannot connect. Check that the public host name is valid and that port 58050 is opened on your router. Tried to open a "virtual port" on my router without success. PC is Windows XP, using Google chrome as my browser. If anyone can enlight me, I would be most appreciative!!! I need clear, simple instructions... Please.
can't connect to bubble upnp
Installed new server upgrade (aug 13); now cannot connect through internet. get error message; can't connect, check firewall, etc. Never had a problem with previous server.
please help.

I don't have an answer, but you can try AirDroid. Its a free app that lets you wirelessly send things to/from your phone or just access the phone's memory in general.
