Note 3 Bricked? - General Questions and Answers

I have an AT&T Note 3 SM-N900A. I Installed X-Note Rom on it a while ago, but I recently have been having problems charging the phone and was going to take it to an AT&T Device Support Center to fix it. I tried to install the stock firmware N900AUCBMI9 using Mobile Odin, only to see the a boot up screen that says "System Software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone . Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest AT&T store for help." I tried to get the phone to connect to Odin on my Windows PC, but the computer will only say USB Device not recognized, and it won't show up in Odin at all. The weird thing is that it says USB device not recognized even while the Note 3 is off. The phone also stays on while in Download Mode when connected to USB with no battery.
I was wondering if there's anything I can do to at least ensure that the people at AT&T can't power up the phone and see this message. I should have just left it on the custom rom, this looks way worse. I'd rather have a hard brick at this point, at least they wouldn't be able to see it was rooted and flashed. I really screwed this up, if I knew I'd be having issues I would have never rooted it. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks for your time.

[Q] samsung exhibit frozen. for real.

after 2-3 hours of googling, trying odin, vol. up and power, usb, kies, seems like a million other things, i cannot get my exhibit 4g passed the "exhibit 4g by t-mobile" screen. i've let it sit, hoping it would boot, removed the batter and let it sit, tried booting it into recovery. i've downloaded every program recommended by every android site and now i'm at my wits end.
before i go any further, i did download rom manager and tried to cwm for galaxy s since that what rom manager detected my phone as. stupid, i know, but i'm pretty sure i told it to backup just in case i ran into a situation like this.
when i plug the phone into my laptop via usb, it's stuck on the little circle "thinking" image. my laptop dings like it knows something is plugged in but then it says "usb device not recognized" but i've downloaded and installed the driver from samsungs website.
i think this thing is bricked but i've read several articles saying a bricked phone wont turn on at all. my phone is rooted but other than that it's all stock.
any suggestions?

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SGH-T989

I'm a new member so please dont take it out on me for posting in the general discussion board. I was trying to upgrade my Gingerbread firmware into the new ICS firmware. I downloaded Samsung Kies and the phone couldnt connect for 10+ minutes. It finally connected and started upgrading, in the middle of it all, I lost connection and it said to turn off my phone and re connect the usb. I did that and the phone was stuck on "firmware has encountered an issue". After googling for hours I finally found a thread on here stating Odin could flash/boot the phone into the old condition. I proceeded to do that and then the connection stopped in the middle of that. My phone went blank and will not turn on. I bought a USB jig and had it shipped overnight for $30+ from Amazon and it doesnt work. Is there any other option I have other than slamming the phone into the ground or going to tmobile to purchase another pricey phone? I appreciate any feedback I am beginning to hit depression stage now hahaha.
Can't be that depressed with all those hahaha's
use Odin to flash the standard Samsung ROM which you'll need to download, put the phone into download mode
(hold power + home + vol DOWN)
It also sounds like you have a crappy USB connection. Either get another cable or don't move the phone when its doing these important changes.
Then you'll need to root it again (or leave it stock if you wish) you could then download and flash a rooted ROM

the hahaha's are a coverup. The phone will not go into recovery/download mode for anything. Ive tried holding the home+vol up/down+power and nothing happens. Im not able to do ANYTHING. It stays off and thats it. I ordered a new micro usb connection but im afraid that its too late for the phone. If I could get it to turn on I would know where to go from there with rooting but it wont even turn on.

Hard Brick - How did it happen?

I've been messing with phones, game consoles, etc for years so i'm not new to the modding world and have never ran into an issue...I've done android phones and tablets before without issue but looks like i hard bricked the phone.
Last night i was trying to root my USA samsung galaxy s3 i535 from verizon ... it was running 4.1.1 following this tutorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439
I was in odin and flashed this file to it VRALEC Bootchain... the screen went black on the phone and it just froze up odin and the phone never came back.
The only thing i can think of (if this was the correct file) was that it was some kind of physical issue between the laptop and phone via the usb cable? I was using win 8 but had the odin app running in xp sp3 compatability mode as an admin?
From what i've read i'm pretty much screwed except maybe paying for a jtag service... might just wait fo the S4 though.
Thanks...i did leave it plugged in over night, but it was the same usb cable i'll let it sit overnight with a different usb cable when i get home.
Like cvm said, if you get download mode then you're okay. But even if you can't seems how you said you have a background in modifying things, you can make or order what is called a USB jig to force the phone into download mode. Just google it and you'll find the post. I use the same procedure for rooting my phone and never had a problem. The only thing that comes to mind is are you sure you loaded the file into the PDA section of Odin? Because if you used any other sections that is what caused the problem.

I've left it charging for about 12 hours and still nothing, won't respond at all no lights, donwload mode, nothing...
I knew to choose the pda option and am 99% sure i did, but sometimes in my arogance I move a little to fast for my own good so anything is possible...
I thought the only way to recover a galaxy phone that won't respond at all is with the jtag and that the usb jigs were for soft brick recovery or if they can't get into download mode?
ive never used one but like you said, it is to push the phone into download mode. if you can get there then your good to go.

LG G3 D850 problems.. multiple.. very lost

Right, so I got myself an AT&T LG G3 D850 from eBay refurbished and unlocked. And I'm pretty much in love with the device, but sadly I'm having some major issues with it.
First off, it absolutely refuses to switch to MTP or any other mode when connected via USB. The USB configuration seems stuck in Charging mode. I've hunted through the XDA forums again and again for a solution, but none of the ones provided have worked. I've tried several different cables, factory reset, several ROMs with no luck. If you plug the device in while it's turned on, whether to a computer or wall socket it won't even charge. In order to get it to charge I have to power off the device, turn it back on, connect the cable on the LG boot screen, and then it will charge the battery. I'd assume at this point its a bad USB port, but why would it still be charging at all if that is the case? Which leads me to believe this is related to my other problem...
I rooted the device with King Root successfully, installed TWRP manager and flashed the latest TWRP for my device. Since then I get an error screen on boot that says "Secure boot error 1003". When the device is turned off, it flashes between a screen with a battery icon that has that same error message on it, to the battery charging screen.. shuts off the screen, then does the process again. So the only way for the device to charge is the above mentioned method.
Just today I discovered that apparently the bootloader on these devices needs to be unlocked before flashing (no mention of this was found in the rooting instructions I followed). I'm guessing this secure boot error message is because my bootloader is still locked? Could this be the cause of my USB connection issues as well?
Currently I have a CM 13 nightly installed with TWRP and other than the above issues, the device seems to work fine otherwise. Before hand it was on stock Lollipop. Between all the threads I've read about this, I am just straight confused and lost at this point. I apologize if this is a re-posted issue, but I can't seem to find any info about it otherwise.
As a side note, I discovered the cable they shipped it with is damaged and doesn't work. I'm using the cable for my old Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-i337 - Canadian model). Could that also be an issue?
Thank you so much for any help! I really like this phone and I want to get it to work.

Did I brick my sisters phone? Unresponsive.

Tmobile - Galaxy S7 SM-G930T
Firmware wouldn't update OTA and was stuck on 6.0.1. Wanted to update it to FW 8. Got odin and downloaded the appropiate files, Im not stranger to flashing other devices so I was being cautious.
The phone showed no progress as it was stuck in downloading... so I rebooted it. (I have done this before and it never went sour)
The phone shut down as it should and disconnected from the computer as it should.
Now the lame part is, I tried booting into recovery, download mode and just a plain old power on.
The phone will not do anything.
I connected it to the computer, no sign of life. Left it on the charger for 10 minutes, nothing.
Is this thing gone for good? It's my little sisters phone so I am kinda ****ting bricks right now.
USB Jig might save it https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-how-to-make-usb-jig-reset-binary-t1604707
