Hello,
I didn't want to start a thread for this but I looked around and I didn't find anything.
Whenever I press the menu button on Google+ or Photos, they crash, and I don't know why. All I did was install Android L, no other tampering whatsoever.
Also, Google Play Services constantly crashes, and the app manager does not let me uninstall the updates, it only lets me to clear the data.
Anyone having these problems? So far it's those were the only problems I've been having with Android L.
Thanks!
All android l discussions should go here.

How do I bring up and shut down recent apps like I do on my phone?
Tia
You can't close apps from the recent apps list, if toe want to close apps, go to settings, applications and then running services, there you can close running apps. But why would you want to do this? Android usually manages this automatically.

Its running a bit slower today so I figured it would help
In my experience this happens sometimes when to much memory is in use, and usually disappears a while later as Android does it's magic house keeping. Clearing up memory manually might work but I usually just reboot if it irks me.
Of course, it could always be an application on your system, or hardware.

I share same account on phone & tablet & both my devices are listed on google play as supported but on both the devices I have noticed that apps are not found they get uninstalled randomly, it could be any of the app, today MX player was removed from tablet & whatsapp missing from my phone.
When I reinstall these apps all the data & setting remain intact so I cant figure out if the apps indeed are being uninstalled or they stop showing in app drawer, shortcuts don't work either nor they show under installed apps in play store.
Both tablet & phone are rooted & using stock roms on both if that matters. Also some apps are moved to SD card on both devices to save space on internal sd partition (no SD card swaped)
Found this another thread reporting the same issue but in that case its about paid apps but in my case its all about free apps doing the same disappearing act.

In my case 2 devices are using different launchers both launchers cant be doing the same goof up, could they? As per suggestion I restarted AWD launcher on tablet but the shortcut to apps don't work giving error the app is not installed, neither the app is visible in app drawer.
Goof up seems to be related to google play store in my opinion but not sure.
Hey everyone I figured out a workaround for the whole Facebook forcing you to use Messenger app. This is for Android only so sorry iOS...
Go to Settings > Security and check Unknown Sources.
This is important because you need to download the apps from the web.
**BTW in case something bad happens to your devices which I'm almost positive nothing will I'm not responsible.**
Okay now delete your Facebook app.
Then go here: http://facebook.en.uptodown.com/android/old
And go all the way down to the bottom of the screen and download the oldest version of Facebook. Install it and sign in.
Now keep installing every version of Facebook from the bottom up and make sure just to click on the messages tab to make sure it works on every version of Facebook. This will let you keep the messaging option in the default app for the newest version! When an update is available I recommend you update from the website rather than the Play Store. Haven't tried it yet because there isn't an update and I don't know if it will still work.
Hope this is useful! Good luck

thanks. Im gonna try that because it really bugs me when they do that. Right now Im focusing on figuring out how to keep my sync settings for my google account from changing on their own all the time. Its driving me mad.
Thanks! I'm sure my friends will be glad to hear this!

I just use Messenger. I've been using it for as long as I've had a smartphone. I'm not afraid of the permissions. Samsung's stock SMS app requires all the same permissions as Messenger and more.
I've noticed one annoying problem with youtube. If I am not watching a clip, just browsing through my subscription list and switch to another app and back to youtube, the list just defaults back to top to the first clip. Every time. It's as if there is no multitasking of youtube.
Sometimes after watching a clip and going back to the list the same thing happens.
Everything is stock, Z3 unlocked version.
Anyone has this problem?
I've found almost every app I used restarts barring games.

Go to google play, my apps or anywhere, go to main menu of phone and go back go google play with multitasking you will see that you are back at top..

I downloaded an app through a website on my android and when it had installed it turned out to be an app called 'FIle Manager'. Its now locked into my phone. Iv tried going to settings-apps and clicking on the app but its not giving me the option to uninstall or even forcestop. Iv run various malware protection apps but its not picking it up. And adds keep popping up on my phone. Im considering rooting my phone so i can use the bloatware apps.
Before i do that, does anyone know how i can go about removing this app?
My phone is Sony Xperia M2 Aqua and its running on version 4.4.4
Thanks.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. If you Harry a really bad app on your device is return it to stock and start all over. That way you'll be staying with a like new device. Backup anything like pics, music, sms, etc that you don't want to lose of your device first. If you have further questions see your device's specific fork here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2. They are the experts on your device.
