Has anyone noticed that the Hula cases sold on the Case-Mate site look different from the ones on the Moto site? The secondary/accent colors on the cases at Case-Mate complement the base color, whereas the ones on the Moto site are black or grey. Can those of you who own one of these let us know where they bought theirs from and which secondary/accent color they got?
Also, how well does this case protect the front and back of the phone? Any scratches/scuffs down the back? I have the chalk (matte white) colored back so this is an obvious concern.
Thanks!

I bought mind on the motorola site, and i have the navy one. The secondary color, royal blue, complements the navy color of the bumper.
As for protection, don't expect it to help protect the back or front a lot. There is a lift when placing the phone down. If you drop the phone, it will protect the edges, but if the back or front part of it lands on rocks or debris or whatever, then you better cross your fingers nothing cracks or scratches lol

What color is the back of your X, Navy or Royal Blue? Also, does the Royal Blue part of the bumper blend well with the Royal Blue trim of the phone? It's a little hard to tell from the pics.
Thanks!

The back is navy. The trim is royal blue. And the hula case does blend in nicely to me. My favorite color is blue, so my opinion may be a bit biased

Awesome, thanks! I just placed my order. I'm biased on blue too.
I ordered the cabernet bumper to go with my chalk back/white front phone. The cabernet bumper has raspberry colored acccents but definitely did not appear that way on the website. I ended up returning the chalk back for a slate colored back so now the bumper is useless because I don't like the way it looks with the slate.

Your pictures made my color decision so much easier. LOL. I ordered the exact same color
Ordered one on 12/1 and this morning got a cancellation email as they are out of stock. Pretty lame as it was clearly in stock when I ordered...
For those that have this bumper, how easily is it put on and taking off?
The first time I put it on it felt fairly stiff to try and squeeze the phone in, and I was sure I'd never get it off again when I tried. However, if you just push one of the bottom corners off it pops out fairly easily, and after a few attempts it should slip in and out easily enough. It certainly isn't going to come off by accident at any rate.
Another Black/Navy/Blue combo with Navy Hula Case. Ordered with the Cyber Monday code.

i really wanted the white one, but it was out of stock. i ended up purchasing the teal one for my white/bamboo phone and the pink one for her black phone. IMO the pink one looks decent on the black, far better than the teal looks on my bamboo model. the light teal color looks nice, but the dark muddy teal accent color looks dingey/dirty IMO. it looks good on the screen side, but when i have it bamboo side up, i don't like it.
with the bumper i expected it to feel better in my hand, based on the reviews i read online. to me the phone feels much nicer to hold without the bumper on it. i'm not sure if it's because it makes the phone a little wider, or if it's just not as comfortable because it feels like i'm only touching the edge when i hold it now. it seems like the naked moto's ergonomics are going to be hard to beat.
i'm contemplating buying a thinner soft clear case of some sort and converting it into a bumper by removing the back with an xacto blade. seeing as i've broken 2 screens already i definitely need something on there, i don't think this bumper is it though.
edit: i added a third picture. it just dawned on me that i own a signshop and i can wrap the bumper in whatever color i feel like for the day. it took about 5 minutes to make the teal on the bamboo into white. tomorrow i'll try black or maybe a dark silver to match the bezel around the logo.
I'm using the defender and diztronic case and I like both but they both take away from my leather back

Black is in stock on case mates site! Just ordered mine.
I'm thinking of returning my x and going back to ios now for some reason
the soft bright teal on my case posted above now looks yellowed and dingy. i tried dish soap, windex, and 409. it still looked dirty, so i moved up to real chemicals. first mineral spirits, then denatured alcohol, lacquer thinner, and brake cleaner. it's better now, but the teal still looks yellowed.
has anyone found a product to clean the hula bumper?
Black is in Stock on Amazon too. Just got mine. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00NR...5_QL70&keywords=case+mate+hula+moto+x+2nd+gen

I highly recommend them. They worked flawlessly on my Evo. And I had the Full Screen Protector and Carbon Fiber on my Evo. And I plan on purchasing for my Epic too.

I hear that Phantomskinz are easily scratched. I know that they will still protect the phone even if they do get scratched, but then you still end up looking at a scratched skin for as long as you have it. Have you had any problems with that?
PS' site labels the product as "self-healing" from scratches, but from what I've read it seems as though even a moderately large/deep scratch manages to stay put. Other than that, PS skins are supposed to be great, but that was the reason I was initially turned off from them.

They are self healing. I had 2 scratches on my Evo from dropping it and they disappeared in like 2 or 3 days. And whenever it looked a little blurry I would just use some polishing compound and rub it and it came back to a new state.
I have tried many of these covers and phantom skinz are the best in terms of not even noticing it is on the device. Also they are slick and generally you just forget they are even there. Bestskinsever and invisible shields almost always have a slightly bumpy texture or graininess that I could never use.

does it protect the screen too? i watched some of the installatioin vids, and it doesnt look like it covers the screen...
just curious to those who ordered, which skin did you get? the black carbon looks cool because it blends in with the black, i noticed on the white carbon that it does not cover the entire back with some black spots showing.
i hate applying skins on phones with curves its a pita

I did it on the Evo and it looked AWESOME. So I'm guessing it will look nice here too.
I personally went with the Matte one because... well, matte is a great finish and I'm hoping it's a cut above the clear case when it comes to glare/reflections. Oh, and the chromatic are just too ostentatious for me.
Haha I got the carbon fiber though now I want other colors when they come out.
Has anyone managed to get the bottom back corners on in any satisfactory fashion? I guess I must've stretched them out trying to get them to go down...took me a while to realize I'd have to prioritize the outside edge and let the inside flatter stuff overlap or hit at weird angles if they have to.
Has anyone used gadgetwarranty before? If it really is as easy as they make it seem, I like knowing that if this falls off in a week because of some raised edges that I can get a new one for $3 + stamp.
I got my back on nearly perfectly, however I'm noticing what I think are stretch marks from using their application tool Luckily, the internet special gave me 2 skins so I get another chance! I'll probably apply the second back today with great care and see how it looks.
On a side note, I bought the matte finish skin and applied that to the screen as well. To anyone thinking of buying this finish, it's wonderful but DO NOT apply the matte screen protector. The skin kit comes with 2 matte and 2 clear screen covers as well as 2 full body matte covers. I suggest using the clear ones as the matte screen covers massively distorts the beautiful screen.
For $18, 4 screen covers and 2 full body covers with lifetime warranty is a pretty great deal!
chromatic skin
heres the lime green skin that i purchased from them and i really like it. im gonna try out the carbon fiber next time. here are some pics for you guys to see.

Really after a case to keep my phone in pristine condition but seeing as no shops in town have accessories yet I don't really want to buy completely blind online.
How many people have bought a case for their Sensation? If you have would you be able to give a link to which one you bought and a quick review of it?
Mobilefun has just got 2 different case-mate options in stock, I was thinking of going for their 'barely there' case for £15.95 - anyone ordered one of those yet?
My other two options are either waiting for the official HTC TPU case to come in stock or mobilefun have their own case which looks quite good for £10 - just called 'frosted back cover' but not sure if that'll be as good quality as the others.
Any recommendations?
I'm after something a bit rubberised but not floppy like silicone ones, quite a moulded fit round the back of the phone and preferably without adding too much bulk.
Bought mine from ebay, gel case under 2 quid. I am satisfied with it.

I do put them on Amazon but I only have US shipping options on there. I had done worldwide before but Amazon gives customers an estimate of I believe 14 days for First Class Mail, and in my experience MANY packages take longer then that to certain destinations depending on customs. This causes customers to be very upset when they dont have their case after 14 days. Not good for feedback
Looks nice, but I'm in the UK, preferably after something with more of a matte finish too

Are you the maker of those? I just bought one on ebay. I love TPU cases.
Interesting. I have a very similar looking case (but not an official tpu one).
Mine doesn't have any of the small circular cut-outs near the camera and the speaker on the back, nor for the double small holes near the bottom of the case.
What am I missing out on?!
I've bought an official one on Play but at this rate I'm thinking it's going to be closer to Christmas before I see it. I'm more interested as to whether it will actually add something to the phone and make it easier to hold. The phone just seems too thin and slippery at the moment; I don't trust myself holding it!

You guys should be careful with these hard tpu rubber kind of cases. I bought on from eBay and I thought it was perfect
It fit really nice and felt good but when I took it off and looked at my phone
I saw some very very small almost invisible scratches from the edge of the case where the lip touches the edge of the glass on the phone
On my phone on the thin black piece that goes between the glass and back casing.
So I decided to buy another case but got a soft silicon case just to make sure it wont scratch my phone

Should have left the power button covered. I like it better keeps the button finish from wearing. too bad I liked the case but oh well.
Hey guys,
I'm just wondering if there's any advantage of getting a case for the sensation at all?.. Since unlike other phones, the battery cover of the sensation is practically the shell itself. So why not just get a replacement battery cover for ~$50 on ebay when your original one is scratched and save all the hassle?

Just received my case today. It's looking really great and feels good.
In my opinion the volume rocker is very hard to use, I can't press it like I used to. There seems to be a certain position where it can be used easily, may take some time to get used to.
Also the power button is a bit hard to reach. having it covered, like the volume rocker, would probably have made it easier to press.
What was the reason that made you choose a Black One S instead of the Grey one, or vice-versa !!!
Was it the looks, the coating ......... ???
I want to pre-order the One S but did not have the chance to see the phones in real to make a decision. ( release date in the Netherlands 25-27 April )
I only got Grey because thats what was sent to me lol. But i like it, and if i had a choice i probably would have chose grey.
It feels really nice and smooth ( a bit too smooth) Its hard to keep a grip on it, I really need a case for it, I can see me dropping it within the next few weeks.
But i think grey is the better colour, It has the blue camera ring which looks awesome. The coating is like Gun metal its just the best IMO.
Black with the red camera ring is just pure eye candy in my eyes.

T-mobile Germany simply doesn't have the grey ones - so I had to order the black one. Got it and started loving the way it looks even switched off. It's still a black beauty.
I had to take the pic without flashlight so its not too good.
Maybe I am not the best person to answer your question cos I don't have either black or grey one yet, but I did play with both of them couple of times already.
Black is, simply awsome IMO, perfect colour nice feel in hand, only downside is the material chipping problem so waiting for a final solution before getting one.
However, if black is not an option, grey is not bad at all, personally I don't mind the colour of the body just the ring colour of the camera looks a bit not my style but I am sure I can be used to it.
Yes, due to differnt material, the grey one is a bit slippery in hand indeed so may need a case unlike the black one which just sticks to your palm.

I thank you all, for the reply .
The One S and X are the first phones since the Desire ( I had some and seen allot ) that brought back the feeling:
"I want this mother f...... "
The HOX is to big and I don't have much trust in T3, so I've decided for HOS.
This is the impression I get from the photos.
The grey one looks more stylish on the front view. The black screen pumps out the grey corners which is really eye caching and more stylish.
But I don't like the back. The difference between the alu. body and the plastic covers ( top and bottom ) is to big , while at the black one is more in one tone.
And than is that MAO "thing", which I hope that HTC will get the grip on it and fix it.
Anyway, I decided to wait two more weeks to get one. The release date here, or the 28th when I go to Germany.
Thanks again.

Which one do you like better in terms of feeling and overall look ?
Initially I ordered the black ceramic but changed it to the grey metal version when I heard about those chipping problems.
Mine will be shipped at the end of April (27th) , so should I risk to take the black one ? For me colour doesn't really matter, as long as it's durable and feels good in the hand...
Both look good, but the black feels more like plastic...
Are they both grippy and fingerprint-free or is there any difference?
The grey one on those pictures looks really weird, I thought the metal was more like dark grey instead of light (brownish) grey.
Maybe its the pic itself, Its like a gun metal grey, I have it and i love it..
I prefer it over the black one, Because it looks more rugged. As said above the black feel a bit 'plasticky'
As for fingerprint, The screen is just like any other really, It does show up finger marks, But the back doesnt.
Ive got a screen protector on mine, Its 'finger mark proof' It works well too ! A screen protector is a must have for me for any phone. I dont believe anything is 'scratch poof'
The Grey version is a little too smooth, Its hard to grip (well it is for me, My palms dont sweat - a result from a previous operation)
I dont know how the black feels in hand but overall the grey is the better version
At first, I wanted the black one (I like the design of it), but then I heard about the problems with the micro arc oxidation, so I decided to take the blue one. The performance is very good, it fits well in my pocket, I like it
I wanted the grey one from the start. I know how anodized aluminum feels like and I love that type of material.
But the store that I went to only had the black one and I just couldn't wait. Like others said it feels kind of like plastic. That soft rubberized plastic that they also used on the HD2.
Only when you knock on it, scratch your nail on it or when its cold, do you know thats its metal.
I'm not sure I'm just getting whatever T-Mobile gets first.

I have a grey but the wear problems people are running into with the finish scratching off the back and it looking worse on the grey have me thinking white.

Yeah I've noticed that the grey shows oils and such a lot more than the white one.
The best part of grey is that it hides the sensors and speakers making the phone look sleeker. The camera lens surround in brown makes it less prominent. The display and body both being dark also makes it look smaller when you compare them side-by-side.
And a warning since the international version's been out longer, the matte finish does scratch and can be worn away by friction letting the shiny base material show through. This is a phone that needs a case.

does the white show the same shiny wear?

Eventually, yeah. But less noticeable.
Just get a case.

Gonna apply a little logic here. If you use a case to cover up the matte that you don't want to lose, whats the point? You keep it covered so you don't get to enjoy it, ever.. Then one day you sell it and some other person gets to enjoy it?
Just use it. When it gets ugly then cover it up.
The white version looked really cheap to me when I played with it in the store. I think the charcoal looks a lot slicker.

I have the grey one and I do think it looks slick, but there's just something about that white one... it's sexy as hell. The only reason I got the grey one is I know that over time the white one is going to get scuffed up, especially with the way I toss my phones around. I hate using cases.
there was a white Beats by Dre headphone on display at AT&T that had the same finish as the white HOX. Couldn't of been there longer than a few weeks and it was filthy!!! I wanted white but dang it is going to look nasty in less than a year.
Guys guys guys... best wear prevention you can ever invest in, is a simple pouch for the phone to rest on when it's on any surface and for it to hide inside of whilst in your pocket. That's what I did, and I haven't had even a bit of the finish come off and I've been playing with it nonstop since last Friday. Very cost effective to, the pouch I got was literally 3 dollars shipped to my house from HK

My girl ended up getting a One X as her upgrade from a 2+ year old BlackBerry. It was between that or the iPhone and I think she made the correct choice! Anyways, she has the grey model and I have the white one. I'm usually a white guy myself when it comes to phones but I must admit the grey one looks really slick. Something about it just looks better than the white one to me. Almost makes me wanna switch.
What do you guys think about the grey model? Am I just trippin?

I have the grey model, and I agree, it looks better than the white. I'm coming from a white vivid so it was a pleasant change for me.

I'm pretty sure the white matte finish isn't going to wear off or scratch -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z137PoI6eWI&feature=youtu.be
Pretty cool vid.
I think the best option for either grey or white is the full body invisible shield from Skinomi. I actually think it makes the phone look even cooler, which I had previously thought impossible.

I already have a bit of wear on my grey one on the natural wear points (about a quarter inch to the left and right of the top edge of the speaker). Really only noticable when I'm intentionally looking for the scuffs but doubtless in a year they will be quite worn down.
But really, who cares. It won't be new forever and some wear gives it a bit of character.

Any idea if the feather case has a raised edge to stop the phone from lying on the screen when it's face down? I have a few of these for my current LG G2, and they do, but the one for my wifes iPhone does not.
Already ordered the octane frost with black bumper to go along with my black front and charcoal wood back X on pre-order.

Dam just black? I bought a white one and would like a grey one...

Wait if you want more colors, they will be out there... Personally for me my phone isn't a fashion statement. It is about functionality and the case is about protecting my functional device. When not in use it spends 99% of the time in your pocket, so whats the deal. Anyway, I ordered 2 of the DualPro's for the wife and my phones... Super stoked, cant wait to get my new Pure edition!
today I received tracking information from incipio stating that the Octane translucent smoke / black bumper will ship today Sept 8th via USPS First Class.
It is a shame the Spigen and Ringke will not make cases for the Moto X Pure, i love Rinke Slim fit on my Nexus 6 that covers the top and bottom side unlike Incipio's Feather case.
Will post pictures of the Incipio Octane smoke / black. Hope you cannot see the dust that accumulates inside the Octane Frost (see through) back.
Yes, I would like to see pics as well of the frost/translucent back, I have the Charcoal ash back and I'm still looking for a case that displays it well. I would ideally like a clear gloss TPU or polycarbonate case, but if the frost can highlight the wood back, I might just get the Incipio.

I'm getting one today, and the phone on Monday. I'll let you know. The last few Incipio Feather cases (2013 Moto X, DROID RAZR Maxx HD) had this lip. Love the case.
I love their cases as well. Can you tell me how slippery this one is? The ones I had for the G2 were both pretty slippery.

Will do. My drmhd had a great soft touch back and was grippy. I got the feather shine with my Moto X. It was a disaster. Thinking this one will be grippy again, otherwise I may return it.
@Squez I got the case and it is definitely the soft touch grip that I remember. It is a little slicker than I remember, but hard to tell without the weight of a phone in it. Holy smoked this phone is going to be big... I'll let you know how it fits the phone when I get the phone on Monday.

Thanks for the update! Just as you replied, I finally got the email that mine just shipped! Good timing!
The octane frost, is the back transparent? Will it show my moto x pure white back clearly? Thanks.
I just ordered the feather case because it add less bulk then the other designs. It cost $21.25 with the discount code and free shipping.

There was a pop up window on the Incipio website that gave me a discount code for signing up to their Facebook page.

Just posted the pictures of the Incipio Octane Translucent Smoke with black bumper.
I do not have the Moto X Pure (not even tracking when I ordered Sept 2nd at 2pm) so I inserted a dollar inside to show how translucent the Smoke version of the Octane is compared to the Frost (see through) version. I like it because it will not show dust particles trapped inside the case yet you can see the finish or color of the back. Very solid construction, does not bend easily and is not soft like the TPU cases
@Squez the front of the case does do farther than the screen, so it doesn't allow the screen to touch the table when face down.
It also just barely keeps the raised speaker grills off the table. I didn't expect them to be raised.
