The dump will be online soon, special thanks to the members who helped me get the dump! Without the help of them I wouldn't have do this.
I wanna thank these guys and to all who have posted here..

and especially rob243 who will host the dump for the developers to download.
I hope Windows Phone users will benefit to this!
Please check back here in a few days for the dump.
Meanwhile, the engineering HTC 8X loaner device will have to go back to the company soon, too. I would appreciate a little donation from the generous ones out there. Buy me a pizza? Buy me my own 8X? Just hit the donate to me button on the left under my username, or here.
Thanks all!

Lucky you, check the hspl/spl to see if it's locked or unlocked. If unlocked, contact the user, I mean The Living Legend called COTULLA and tell him about your phone. Actually, just contact him, he will tell you to do a few things and if someone can help in here, it's him. We owe him the HSPL for HTC WP7 1st and 2nd generation phones and the 1st Titan custom rom (DFT) among other things.
Thanks for sharing!

Check these screenshots, especially the 3rd one.
okay, from the app titles and about phone screenshots- this is most definitely an engineering/test unit. bootloader entry built into the OS? wp bld lab? how did you come across this gem?

I do, that's why I created this thread so I can help somehow, even by a bit.
EDIT: I found a setting that lets me developer lock/unlock the device (even without registration). If you want me to test or run apps that will help you guys let me know.
EDIT 2: I tried tapping the Enter Bootloader option but it does nothing. Maybe I am doing it wrong?

You can try holding down Vol Up, camera, and power, or Vol Down, camera, and power to get to the bootloader.
Is there a way to access the file system?

I tried doing the volume down, camera, and power combination and it displayed something like a BIOS screen very quickly, around 1-2 seconds and then continues to boot up. I only managed to read the 1st line which says 'Security Unlocked' or something. I'll try take a photo.
EDIT 2: Regarding the file system access, I found these on the phone. Will any of these help?

Security Unlocked probably means UEFI is off, or otherwise the bootloader is unlocked. Could be very wrong on that, though. Either way, doesn't matter since we don't have a 8X ROM to cook and modify.

This is so very serious and huge news...if it has the UEFI unlocked like an ES is supposed to be. Can you access the file system/mount device in bootloader mode?
Also, could you try and install a WP7.* xap file ( just download an app/game xap from xda or this one from here, not a sys messing one) on it? Just copy it inside phone's int meme and click on it, the installer ''should" handle the xap...
BTW,if tha XAP installs and runs I could say that phone is worth its weight in gold...cough...cough...for us and MS.

Email it to you as an attachment and try to open it on the phone.
Also, depending on your time and availability, you could contact E:V:A by PM or posting in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934388 so you could dump whatever is on that phone.
Wow, this is real HW porn! I posted partition dump instructions in that thread, but I now see that this could be even more useful in the future, for allowing us to have unlocked bootloaders with all engineering features intact. So if you could somehow get us, either a full "disk image" or preferably all of the individual partitions, that would be awesome!
All the tools needed can be found in the links of my footer. It could be that you need to install some additional USB drivers as well.. But we'll see.

My brains! Is it possible to do that via TeamViewer or something like that? So you would control my PC?
EDIT: I got into the 'bootloader mode' (not sure if it is). I plugged it into my notebook and it installed Windows Mobile Device Center (forgot the exact name lol) and the 'Serial' mode changed into 'USB'. ?

It's not that hard and it can't be done via remote support unless you have two machines ( you need one running linux and the other one with a IM that has video also). Your best shot is to find a friend that knows Linux and has a Linux distro installed and "beg" him to do it for you.
Also, it would be wise to keep secret the rest of the info about the device. It's been known that MS roams XDA and this thread isn't good news for them, just let me put this in another way : it's like you've got a WIN8 key generator in your hands ( though this is not a solution to activate W8). Stick to PM the devs.
Gracias

Hello guys,
A few weeks ago i bought a samsung s4 clone 1:1 copy.Last days ive been reading allot on the forums but as a noob i cant see the trees through the wood ...im stuck... i did manage to root my divice but only after trying 10 -20 times.I used mtk droid tools.
My question is if anyone can tell me if there are other roms for this Phone and what Phone did i buy.
I hope someone can help me out. thanks .
Most people figure out which phone they are buying *before* handing over any money. Good luck.

Maybe a photo of the phone's rear side (without cover and battery) could help.. usually there is some sort of model code printed somewhere that you can google for.. hope this helps.
Thanks guys.
Sublimize, dont get me wrong but i have an original Samsung S3 and S4 and both are still under warranty.I just wanted a cheap android Phone to play with I looked on the internet for a Phone and found this one as the best S4 1:1. I do have to admitt that i didnt know anything about the specs of this Phone except what the shop wrote about them. http://www.cheaptech.nl/samsung-galaxy-s4-kloon-clone-android-1-op-1. its a dutch site. I just opened the Phone to look for anything to reveal about this Phone and i took some pictures about the inside.
now with pics i hope
Not sure if it'll help, but seeing you're rooted, you can use your file explorer and go into the folder "proc" and copy your "config" file to your PC (or you can open it in the file explorer.
This is the config file they used when compiling your kernel. Now, if you look, you may get a clue to what hardware they compiled it for. Maybe.
Seeing it's a MediaTek cpu, you probably could have use the "framaroot.apk" method for root.
use quadrant standard
download app named 'quadrant standard' from Google playstore. although it's a benchmark related app but it will tell you about your phone in detail.

Naw, it's a clone, and quadrant will take info from the build.prop which of course is false also.

Thanks for the replay. I did what you wrote but couldnt find in the proc folder any config file. So i just started opening and reading anything what could have some info, such as driver system cpuinfo and other folders. I found allot about Media Tec hardware parts inside the Phone and "CHMOD" to me that must be China mod if im not mistaken. I will continue reading and hope il find more info on t he Phone. The Phone works good but that isnt the reason why i bought it for Lets hope il find what i need or maybe someone else finds anything about it.

Actually, CHMOD stands for "Change Mode". It is a shell command used most often to change file permissions.
As an example of how we would use this command/tool in a terminal:
Code:
chmod +x your_file.ext
Good attempt with "China Mod" though. I like that

Get root permissions and try to delete it from file explorer app like ES File Manager.
Else, take a backup of your data and perform full wipe operation from recovery.
Is it actually affecting your phone in some way? Taking up storage? If not, does it really matter?

Ok, but if you don't know what it is or what it does or why it's there, then maybe removing it isn't the greatest idea. It could have a function.

this is normal, it happens sometimes with my computer as well after connecting the phone via usb cabel. It is a bug because there is not any drive in your storage. In my case it show more than one drive sometimes dont worry about this and leave it as it is.

Your posted image doesn't show a secure storage--it shows a windows shortcut.
The secure storage you see in your file manager I'm sure is a CM file manager FEATURE for you to make an encrypted folder or what-have-you. There isn't really a folder there until you create one by clicking on it and providing a password, hence--it can't be deleted. I dont' know if it will even provide a folder that's deletable after you click on it and provide a password.
This is something you can prolly learn more about from the CM11s people who made it.

Unfortunately I think you're out of luck. The whole idea of encryption is that the password you create is the only password that will unlock it. Forget the password and you have no access.

I'm guessing you created a protected drive with the CM File Manager (stock one)?
To remove it, open CM File Manager, from the drawer enter settings by tapping the gear. In settings tap Storage option.
There should be an option to delete it.
Hello good day,
I have read alot of tutorial but have found none that will help me. I saw a malware installed on my device which was eating up my ram and internet data. I tried to uninstall it most of the times but it keeps on installing itself anytime i enable my data or wifi. I later found out that there was this new files in my phone system storage, that wont allow me to delete it even if am root. i tried to change the permission and still cant . I tried to move all the files in that folder to a different folder leaving the suspicious ones. after moving the ones i know was not a malware to a different folder. my device froze and i couldn't do anything but to restart the device. i did so and that was it. My device always get stuck on the htc logo anytime that i turn it on. Please i really need help on how i can fix this issue and get my phone back to its normal state. I think is not booting because i move all files including the systemUi to a different folder.. the folder was located at (system/app) I created a new folder called appa in the same directory. thinking if i move all the legimate apps to the new folder. i will be able to delete the whole app folder which i left the malwares in. so i can rename the folder i created back to app. But after the moving was successful. my phone froze and thats it.. unless you have some sort of backup, or can find the stock software to put back on, you will not be able to fix it.
next time before doing such a activity like this you should make a nandroid backup and store it to a safe storage that you can restore.....

I have no experience flashing HTC devices, but the process is usually the same, just the files used change.
There should be some program common for HTC devices to flash.
I would look on some more popular HTC device and see if you can find a guide, and just substitute your firmware instead of theirs.
Thanks

There is but I don't know the proper commands. I think it's something like adb push (push location) (file name)
You may be able to move the file with pc while in twrp by Normal means. I can do it on my phone like that. Internal shows up on pc just like it does when it's booted.

USB debug is not needed for flashing. If your pic don't see the device in download mode, you will have to look around for some proper drivers. I don't know if adb works in download mode, so there may not be an issue. You need to get the proper flash tool and see if that can connect to your device. Trying to connect with anything else is a waste of time.

follow the advice that i gave before ^^^
there is no "best flashing tool" for these situations. there is usually 1 or 2 options of software provided by the manufacturer. one of these you must use, because there is no options, such as tools made by the community.
i have never owned a htc device, so you are going to have to do some searching and reading to help yourself out, unless someone else comes along who can provide specific help.
Hi everyone I just found out a way recently on how to unlock the bootloader without losing data and root Oppo A71 Cph1717 ,but just in case please i encourage you to backup your phone before doing this, i tested this with my own phone and it works so now lets start!!!
1) download and install latest python (ensure to tick the checkbox Add Python x.x to PATH) ------>https://www.python.org/downloads/
2) download and install preloader driver -----> https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9...dUE/view?resourcekey=0-TN-5Ipeegh7SowX4sduz_g
3) download the latest MTK-client zip --------> https://github.com/bkerler/mtkclient
4) unzip the mtk-client and open the CMD or Powersell inside the extracted MTK-client folder
5) enter the first command -----> python setup.py install ,and wait until the process is done
6) after the installation is done enter the second command ----> pip3 install -r requirements.txt ,wait until the process is done.
7) Now this is the part to where you are going to unlock the bootloader of your Oppo A71
8) enter command -----> python mtk da seccfg unlock it will wait for the phone to be connected
9) Now power off your phone, connect the small part of the usb cable in your phone, hold both up and down volume button and connect the another end of the usb cable to the computer and you will see the process starting after the process is done boot up your phone and the VIOLA!!! you have unlocked your bootloader without losing any data!!,when you see a warning ( your device has been unlocked and cannot be trusted , your device will boot in 5 seconds....) dont worry its very normal , Now lets hop in on how to root your oppo a71 .
Second Rooting your Oppo A71 CPH1717
1) download latest magisk apk and install it on your phone
2) download your stock rom in your PC -----> https://oppostockrom.com/oppo-a71-cph1717
3) and extract the stock rom in your pc
4) now go to developers option of your phone and enable usb debugging and select the type of connection and select MTP while connected in pc

5) now open magisk app and select install (you can select Preserve AVB option if you want ) then select next and press the Select img and select the boot.img that you copied fron the PC and then press lets go option
6) wait until the patching is done
7) after the process is done, now copy the magisk_patched.img in the pc ( you can find it in your internals download folder)
8) now create a folder in your pc name it Root flash
9) move the magisk_patched.img in the folder that you created and rename it boot (no extension and other things )
10) copy the scatter file, preloader.bin from the extracted stock rom in to the folder that you created (root flash folder)
11) download sp flash tool ------>https://spflashtool.com/download/ ,and unzip it in your pc
12) open the sp flash folder and open flash tool.exe
13) now see scatter-loading file option and click choose go to the created folder( root flash folder) and select the scatter file
14) now untick the preloader but not the boot
15) click the download button , power off your phone ,connect the small part of the usb cable to your phone ,hold the up and down volume button then connect the another end of the usb to the Pc
16) wait until the flashing is done you will receive a green check in the screen ,disconnect your phone from the pc and turn your phone on and VIOLA!!!! your Oppo a71 CPH1717 is now rooted you can check the magisk app if its installed or install root checker

as i can see in the video its legit he really unlocked, root and install twrp(which i have it too) in the oppo phone but the only thing thats difficult is he uses a test point and to do that you need to open the phone and some tools to do that which is hasle and hard while in my method i directly unlock it you can see in the vid he uses something to activate the test point but in my case i didnt, i just connect my phone and enter the commands and let the tool do the magic we both use the same tool but the only difference is he uses gui version and im using only command prompt version both version of tool is good but for me command prompt version is stable

thats kinda normal ,well yeah im facing the same problem right now but apparently there is no way we can remove that thing i searched every where but no luck but there is a method to remove that but the requirment that it needs doesnt met by our phone, this method needs Edxposed with we cant use because we need our phone to run in android 8/8.1 or higher i tried it with xposed framework but no luck i cant open the app because its not meant for the phone for now im thinking to to build a custom rom to fix this problem i dont know if this is possible but i found something in internet that got my attention im thinking to build (Resurrection remix 7 android 9) because it has a source code but it might take a while because im still studying it for now my twrp is on stanby for flashing and trying any rom that would fit for my phone

you can fix the unknown baseband easily using Zarchiver grant root access then go to ROOT/data/nvdata then delete all the files inside it then after reboot them check if it work because it works fine in me while in the case of the null imei you can only fix it using tools like SN writer or Modem meta
