[Q] S Health synchronization - Samsung Gear 2

Hi,
Today my phone reported that S Health is not being synchronized (from my Gear)
When I check on the phone S Health app, steps shows 0 and none of the health apps are being synchronized.
On the Gear Manager settings, there's a S-Health setting button.
When I click it, S Health settings for Gear opens and automatic sync is selected.
But it is greyed out and I can't change it (to try off-on)
Also "sync now" button is greyed out.
What may be the problem and how can I solve this ?
My phone is Samsung Galaxy S5 and the gear device is Gear 2.
Has anyone noticed this on their device ?
Thanks.

anyone sharing same issue ?

Same here with the Note 3 & Gear 2

Same here with gear 2, and gear 1 on Tizen. It use to work with gear 1 on android. Tizen botched it all up.

I removed the data of Samsung Gear app and then repaired Gear 2.
It is solved now. I can select the "sync now" button.

Didn't work for me. Any other suggestions?

[Q] S Health "fitness with gear" Samsung sync issue

Has anyone else had issues with when you select the fitness part of gear manager and select any of the items (heart rate, sleep etc) it then asks to link with your Samsung account. After you select link it gives me a privacy policy but no I've read or accept button . There's nowhere to go from there . Anyone?

Mine works perfectly. One of the first things I tried on the watch was the heart rate sensor and I don't recall it asking be to link anything. I did have to set up a profile (DOB, height, weight, etc) and I did setup Gear Manager and logged into my account before playing with the watch.
Thanks. I went back and deleted gear manager and gear for fitness etc etc and when I RE did everything it worked.
you means that you can sync S-health with your GEAR 2, or you can just use it with fitness for gear.
I would like to use with S health because FfG sux..
No I was referring to the Fitness with gear app. I am still stunned that Sammy doesnt have it work (yet) with the standard S heath app. I just tried again and it says I have to update the gear manager, but I am already updated.

[Q] S Health Walking Mate Sync

I use my Galaxy Note 3 (v4.4.2) to count my steps with the built in S Health Walking Mate. In the top right it has a sync button to sync with Galaxy Gear. When I select it, I get a message that says Gear Manager needs to be updated. It then takes me to Samsung Apps app where there is no option to update Gear Manager, it only says Open. I have Gear Manager 2.0.14041404 which I think might be the latest version.
Any idea how to get S Health Walking Mate and Galaxy Gear 2 to sync with each other?
Thanks.

After playing around with this for several hours I do not believe they're working together properly now. I think we shall have to wait for an update to have it work correctly. I even tried downloading S Health 3 and that did not work properly either. For the moment I'm using Fitness for gear.
I completely agree that there appears to be no connection between the up to date s health and the new fitness for gear app we are forced to install from the gear manager app. I also have been searching for a solution because even the fitness for gear application doesn't sync with the watch correctly. Actually, the app is awful, slow, dependent on the cloud for no reason and innacurate (why does it report different step counts than my watch, its only data source...). I really hope Samsung fixes the app, or s health or both ASAP. I am very upset the watch and our phone don't work in unison the way Samsung advertises it to. I am also very upset Samsung has no real customer service to complain to.

Pairing issues

Recently I started to have problems pairing my Gear 2 with Galaxy Note 4. Whenever I start Gear Manager app and trying to change Gear 2 settings, the app closes.
I tried unpair Gear 2, then pair back, which led to the factory reset, I tried to re-install Gear Manager, nothing helped.
Then I found this reply on Galaxy Apps store by Samsung customer rep:
"Thank you for being a Samsung customer. We are sorry for you are having difficulties with using this app. As we've tested out with Gear2, S5 Active, they seem to connect normally. So, please follow this instruction to sync devices again.
1. Go to Settings on the smartphone → go to Bluetooth, unpair all of bluetooth which are paired by pressing the cogwheel.
2. Go to Settings on the wearable device → Check the 'Make visible' check box, scan on Samsung Gear Manager app of the smartphone. Click the wearable device that you want to connect.
3. The wearable device will be reset and connect with the smartphone. For your information, if your smartphone is rooted or on developer option turned on, or if optimizing app is running, this application could work not normally. So make sure not to be on rooted/developer mode, or optimizing app run on. Hope our reply would be helpful."
So in my case disabling "Developer Options" helped. Maybe I didn't have to mess with re-pairing. I hope this will help.

RedMi Note 3 Pro & Gear Fit2 connection

I own the following devices.
Xiaomi RedMi Note 3 Pro
android 5.1.1LMY47V
MIUI 7.5.1.1
Gear Fit2 SM-R360
software R360XXU1BPG3eChO
I installed the
Gear 2.2.16101261
Gear Fit2 Plugin 2.2.04.16111741N
Samsung accessory service 3.1.26_161116
I perform the pairing proccess from gear app where it normally sees the request and then the gear (app from mobile) is closed without any message and gear fit2 stays on screen writing "setting up" where nothing else happening and at the end sent message that "the setting has lasted more than expected. Do you want to try again; "
For the above issue I have tried the following:
1)
Remove all Samsung app's
cache cleaning
Factory reset gear fit2
Reinstalling app's
2)
Remove all Samsung app's
cache cleaning
Factory reset gear fit2
Reinstalling previous versions
Please HELP
My pebble kept disconnecting. I think it was due to permissions. I'd recommend making sure the gear fit app can autostart, use Bluetooth and stay active.

Gear 2 connects to bluetooth on LG V20 but not to the Gear App

I have a LG V20, and a Gear 2 Neo.
The Gear 2, screen says “To connect your Gear, first download Samsung Gear via Samsung GALAXY Apps on your mobile device.” - done… I have the Samsung Gear app on the phone.
From the Samsung Gear app, I try to “Connect To Gear”, and after the searching process the response is “No Gear devices After you turn on your Gear devices, they will be shown here. If your Gear is powered on properly but not shown here, go to Settings > Gear info, then select Reset Gear on the Gear to reset it to its factory default settings.” - done…I have reset the Gear 2 to factory settings multiple times, however the app is still not connecting.
The phone Bluetooth and the Gear 2 bluetooth pair with zero issues.
I have also attempted to go through the ‘download’ process from the settings on the Gear 2. This ‘downloading’ processed for about 9-10 hours and did not finish. I had to turn off the Gear.
How can I get the two devices to connect? From the internet, I believe that that Gear 2 should work with the LG V20.
It's annoying.
On my Moto DT2, I found I had to completely unpair my phone from my S2 using the phone's Bluetooth settings, reboot and start completely from scratch.
I cleared all data from all Samsung apps, uninstalled them, rebooted, and then just followed the prompts from the S2 and then the apps.
If you pair your phone with your S2 first BEFORE using the apps, it won't work.
With the latest app updates, I don't have to go through that process as often.
I do lose my connection more often, but just pressing Connect in the app restores it.
Hope that helps.
