Great work! Thank you

can mobile odin (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068667) flash ur latest cwm???

Hi, I am a newb.
I just rooted my Galaxy Tab 2(P5113) using Philz Recovery 6. I really don't know what I'm doing. I have spent hours reading and trying different things.
The device is now 'rooted'. I can get into Philz Touch 6. I don't think it installed correctly though. When I choose 'Install Zip' and 'Choose zip from /storage/sdcard1' and select a file like(philz_touch_6.57.8-p5110.zip) It says 'E:Can't open /storage/sdcard1/philz_touch_6.57.8.zip(bad)'. I have tried many files (5.00.5, 6.07.9, 6.57.8). Not sure which file I should be loading, I assumed the latest. All the files say p5100, mine is a p5113 but I think that's right.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Wiij

Make sure you are properly rooted and have the latest updated custom recovery of your choice. For your P5113 use P5110 zips not P5100. Good luck!

@wiij your file seems corrupt. Maybe try flashing from internal storage. Also make sure you are useing P5110 recovery!

TWRP decrypt doesnt work
Hi there,
I need help because my encrypted tab doesnt decrypt in TWRP.
I am running my P5100 with CM11 (nightly from September) and TWRP 2.8.1.0. I've encrypted the tab a few weeks ago under CM11, but when I boot into recovery, I dont get a decrypt prompt (which differs to the behavior of my nexus7_2013 with the same rom and twrp recovery). A manual mount of /data does not work (still no prompt or something similar) or I am doing it wrong.
Because of this, I am unable to install a rom update.
Thanks in advance for any help.

TWRP on GT-P5113
I had the same experience (and frustration) on my GT-P5113
Once the device was rooted and CWM recovery installed, I downloaded Android-Andi's GT-P5110_TWRP_2.8.1.0.zip (saved to external storage), rebooted to recovery mode, then installed from zip.
I also (sucessfully) tested installing TWRP using Andi's GT-P5110_TWRP_2.8.1.0.tar.md5 image from Windows 8.1 using Odin3 v1.85.exe.
I was attempting to post this message (links to Andi's files on AFH removed) in reply to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57880315#post57880315 (this is where XDA dumped me).

Decryption isn't support because i don't use it and don't need it.
You can try official TWRP, maybe it supports it http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/147

1. Sure, I'll do that now.
2. No, I did not... I usually wipe/format everything, including internal storage with switching ROMS (CM11/SlimKat), but not when flashing a new recovery (CWM/TWRP).... Is this recommended?
BTW, are you planning on building TWRP 2.8.3.0 for the P5113/P5110?
Thanks.

@mentat2 i am in contact with Dees_Troy in hope to.solve the issue:
" Next step is to get a log of a failed decrypt
adb pull /tmp/recovery.log while still in TWRP"
Edit:
About 2.
No not needed while switching recovery.
It only would be interesting if this works because of decrypt. Our data is stored in /data/media Internal storage).
About 3.
Yes, sometimes later.

Hi Andi,
It appears that I am having major issues with my laptop right now (I can't seem to make a connection to the tablet from any of the USB ports)...
Perhaps we can call on @drohhyn to provide you with a log of a failed decrypt?

@mentat2 i will upload a new recovery for you which might fix adb not working in recovery. Give me some minutes.

Please try attached repacked TWRP. Sometimes for me Windows also does not detect my device in recovery...depends on the installed driver.
The repacked version might work for you to get a connection on ADB work.
Edit:
Re-uploaded, used wrong ZIP

I see no reason why it shouldn't work. I flashed the p3110 TWRP 2.8.1.1 and repacked a ton of recoveries in the past. If something went wrong you can flash back using Odin. Maybe @tetakpatak can test the repack first if you feel more safe.

You can't flash images from recovery, only zips. You need to use fastboot to flash a system image.
So there isn't any way

Actually, looking at your screenshots I might be wrong. I'm still on 2.8.0 and there is no option to flash images, only zips. But it looks like the version of TWRP you're running does have the option to flash images. I've never seen that before, you learn something new every day I guess. That being the case, I don't know why you would be getting that error. Are you sure you're trying to flash the correct image?
EDIT: I just checked out the TWRP thread, and according to the OP, you can only flash boot and recovery images, not system images. So I guess my original post still stands. If you want to flash a system image, you need to use fastboot. Otherwise, flash a ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47108907&postcount=1
What's the big deal? Why not just use fastboot?
Thank you sir
did you know if anyone modified system.img to .zip ?
just system file without data
for don't delete my app
and again sorry for my English
Fastboot flash system system.img is all you need

What do you mean you can't flash any ROM? Please try and be as clear as possible- if I don't understand what's going on, I can't be of much assistance.
What situation are you in? How did you get into your current situation?
So is your original system wiped? You can't boot into android anymore?
I'm so sorry sir
I have multirom manager , and by mistake I install Miui OS on the primary OS , after 10 seconds i stop it , so the primary KitKat system wiped.
Thanks to god I solved this problem by flash system.img from laptop and flash another recovery by (NRT toolkit ) than open multirom from the primary OS to reinstall last version of kernel and TWRP recovery
If you have the latest twrp you can flash img. If there is an error then the system.img must be corrupt (maybe bad download). Is your multirom up to date?

It was my understanding that you can flash any .img other than system.img. At least that's what it said in the OP of the TWRP thread when I read it the other day.

So are you up and running then?
And FYI, stop using toolkits. You should have flashed recovery the same way you flashed system.img, from your laptop with fastboot. Toolkits can cause a lot of problems and if you rely solely on them, you'll never learn how to fix any problems that you may encounter.
Oh, never actually used it, just knew you could flash img files.

Thanks for the news, we've been waiting for this! However, I've a question. I've installed another recovery that works with the phone and a bit easier to install and works both on 350 and 838. Here's the link:

Should I switch over to this since for some reasons I'm not able to activate Xposed after flashing through recovery.

I do not wish to overahadow this thread with another issue. Though, for the sake of information:
1. Uncompress the file and change the name of the folder in which you have the recovery files to anything you like.
2. Move that folder to your desktop
3. Now on your phone, enable USB Debugging and Unknown Sources.
4. Connect your device to computer and run the .bat file in the extracted folder on your computer.
5. Press any key when prompted. The phone will reboot into recovery if successful.
6. You Now have CWM based Recovery on phone.
First two steps aren't necessary, but the folder contains special characters that may interfere with ADB. At least it happened in my case, thus the precaution.

Johnny, I've tried every possible combination to no avail. The bridge is installed but not activated. It simply refuses to work with or without modules, or no matter how many times I flash before or after installing the Xposed interface apk.
Any suggestion would be great!

the time can be set in the settings /or the advanced menus (i really forgot where)
but i cant use the mtp and the usb storage function in the recovery
i consider this a real bug (until u help me) in the recovery
But thanx anyways for the awesome TWRP Recovery
twrp
how can i use the back up?
cwm flash permanently
first flash cwm via odin then flash super su and then download root explorer pro from onhax and visit etc>install-recovery.sh and rename to install-recovery.sh.bak and now again flash cwm
Not working, pls help! (GT-S7582)
After flashing TWRP, got a PASS message in Odin.
And when I press Vol up+Lock+home TWRP interface doesnt appear,
instead No Command screen comes and then Android system recovery (3e) screen
comes up...
Tried CWM, but same result!
Please help! I've been googling it for a couple of days...!!

Extracted them from the B383 update.
But im wondering why there are 2 Recovery files, both are the same size but they give back different md5hash sum, that mean that there is something different about them.
But here you are:

I got an issue with an P9 [EVA l_09] after upgrading from latest Marshmallow C432 single SIM to Nougat via SD Card update.app and restart. I did similar updates on 5-10 different devices w/o an issue.
Fist part went fine, but with the second [HW_init] it went into this:
http://www.derjackistweg.de/img_20170601_142722_resized_20170601_022749113
I was not able to flash ANY different update.app after that via SD card [weather Marshmallow 1rst or later version]
The device is stock - NO change in Bootloader
I do not have any recovery from before or whatever.
I do want to use this device in whatever Firmware!
PS: I cannot post by myself. Though my account is 11 (!) years old - I am not experienced enough Back in the day I had more posts of course, XDA made changes over the years.

[Recovery]TWRP for the Galaxy C7 [SM-C7000]

TWRP has come to the SM-C7000!
In order to install this, follow these instructions:
Enable OEM Unlock in developer settings
Enter download mode (Press and hold home + volDown + Power when powered off)
Using Odin, click the 'AP' tab and select the recovery.tar file you've downloaded.
Flash the TWRP image, then hold home + volUp + Power
Congratulations, you are now booted into TWRP!
Remember, on the stock ROM, dm-verity is enabled. What does this mean? If you swipe to allow system modifications, you must flash something that disables dm-verity (such as magisk or a dm-verity disabler.)
Also, on the stock ROM, you MUST format /data before performing any actions, due to the fact that it is force-encrypted by default.
BUGS:
None, as far as I'm aware of.

Thank you very much @wzedlare..
TWRP Recovery for Samsung Galaxy C7 (SM-C7000) was being waited by lots of C7 owners. We hope you fix all the issues and make it a flawless file. You can also collaborate with @javad0644 to make it even better.. He had developed a root file for C7 before..
Keep up this good work..
(Note: Except the first two pictures in the OP you have uploaded, the other pictures are broken. We can't see them. Can you please upload them again?)

Costom rom
Thanks for this hard work
I haven't used this method yet
I'm really waiting for a stable costom rom based on lineage os ??
installed on my c7
i have installed on my c7000 hongkong firmware model. flashed with twrp with auto reboot off. restarted into twrp ,swipe to allow modification but it failed to mount storage. then i did factory reset in twrp and type yes. it removed all the data after that it asked me to install twrp and reboot. (it gives you options in twrp upon factory reset) did that and rebooted again in twrp . this time every thing is working good. mounted storage . after that put the supersu zip file on mobile via usb cable and installed through twrp install option then i installed (no-verity-opt-encrypt-3.1.zip) i dont know is it necessary or not but i installed it . rebooted now my mobile is rooted and twrp recovery is working fine.
only problem i got is that private mode is not working now. xD
thanks for making twrp to work :good:

So you can use your data even if you reboot to system? I tried verity zip but it didnt work for me(stock rom still encrypted my data). It is just weird, maybe supersu zip made it possible.

i did the whole method in twrp . after wiping my data mounting storage started working. if you connect mobile to computer via usb (when you are in twrp recovery) the computer will show you your mobile drive so u can put zip files.
i can send you the files if u want them.
