JB & KK ROM Switching - Philz made it easy!!!
Since many days/months I was trying for this and now I confirmed it.
Now its easy to switch between JB and KK rom without flashing each Os via flash tools.
Things used:-
1. Flashed KK stock rom using SP flash tools. (My phone came with stock JB S003 version)
2. PhilZ 6.57.9 cwm 6051 based recovery (thanks a million @Phil3759 sir for recovery and @yuweng sir for the port tool)
3. Jelly bean ROMs - Purexperia z2, extreme v1.
4. Kitkat ROMs - LG G3 UI ROM, Xperia Z3.
Procedure done:-
1. Flashed KK stock S007 version using spflash tools.
2. Made Philz recovery 6.57.9.
3. Flashed Purexperia Z2.
4. Booted ROM and checked all things, installed few apps like whats app, xposed, gravity box.
5. rebooted and confirmed gravitybox working.
6. Took backup of contacts using Super_Backup
I used Super_Backup_Pro_1_7_12_apkgalaxy
7. Took backup of apps using gobackup 3.51 and Titanium_Backup_PRO_v6_2_0
8. rebooted in recovery and backed up this ROM on internal storage and external stoarge (Philz is simply awesome just 3 mins for 1.2gb
backup):good:
9. factory reset, format system in recovery.
10. flashed extreme v1.
11. followed 4 to 9.
12. flashed LG UI 3 rom KK.
13. ROM booted as usual KK rom(one reboot inbetween) and to my surprise everything is working fine. CAMERA TOO.
14. Took backup of rom in recovery (internal and external storage)
15. Flashed Xperia Z3 rom (after wiping) and took backup in recovery.
16. Now restored every rom (2JB and 2KK) from the backup with different combinations
From external and internal storage JB after JB, KK after JB, KK after KK.
17. Tried restoring of app and data from JB to KK and vice versa.
results - go backup not useful at all.
Super_Backup - can restore contacts, msgs and app not app data.
Titanium_Backup can restore app+data (and working)
=================================================================================================
So conclusions are
1. Philz recovery 6.57.9 is universal recovery for JB and KK ROMs - can install, backup, restore and switch between roms.
2. U can restore any rom from recovery if u have taken backup, everything functioning normal after restore.
3. Super_Backup can be used to restore contacts, msgs
4. Titanium_Backup can be used to restore apps and their data.
==================================================================================================
Some observations
1. @chinasa mentioned about data wiped from
sdcard0/internal storage - i havnt experience it till now. Flashed so many roms with my MP3 collection on my internal storage.
If anyone with same issue please reply.
2. Many users @ ashishji12, @allan.vaz reported issue about camera prob after flashing a jb rom on stock KK (their phone came with kitkat)
I havnt faced this issue using philz recovery.
MY request to u is please try using philz recovery and try flashing.:good: and report back.
I will surely help u to resolve this issue (I got one solution but no one came now with problem)
3. Philz recovery is fast in backing and restoring data

Some observations by other users
1. This method is defiantly working for those got their mobile with JB - tried on my own and @Aftab Memon phone.:good::good:
Those who got their mobile with KK please try flashing whole stock KK rom and report, thanks to @chinasa
for trying.
2. @m0han reported that my backup app can be used for backup-restore of data in JB & KK switching.

just to let folks know that i was able to do 3 & 4 with a single app - my backup app. :good:
NOTE: Trial will work on one device. Backup can be restored to the same device, to go across another device (data migration), you will need MyBackup Pro.

Deep inside DD-GB v2 (Custom ROM for Micromax A57 by dinesh77)
Deep inside DD-GB v2
================
There were few friends like Priyank Thakur, 'Deadman Akshay' & Monty Kumar faced..(Serious) Screen OFF (Deep Sleep) issue with DD-GB v2
--I confirm that the raised issue is the Valid problem.... I too faced the same
and has to be verified. In addition I have almost researched on this ROM I have interesting outcomes..please go steady..its really serious for Ninja 3 Development in future.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Success of this ROM:
I congratulate the Develope Dhinesh Kumar (dhinesh77) on successful edition of DD-GB v2
-- Yes this is definitely a Successful Custom GB ROM for Micromax A57 and was got praised by almost all at including me
-- All basic functions working perfect and no issues at all
-- All though no much build prop tweaks added but enough to get us speed and added functionality as there are required init.d tweaks
-- xloud and beats audio: sound enhancements also works up to some extent but personally I want so much insist on that
-- This ROM has got additional framework files from Sony framework to support audio enhancement.
-- You can have good gaming experience on this ROM without adding any additional Tool for the same
-- And several additional Features. For details visit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37207089
-- My overall Experience with this ROM is quite better compared to other custom ROM published till now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- I saw apps2sd working OK with this ROM
-- apps2sd transfers all apps automatically to apps2sd partition
-- even Titanium backup apps restores in apps2sd partition and TB shows capacity of this partition when it starts
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However folling are findings that might have stunned me:

CWM BAckup of DDGB 2 Works ???
-- CWM backup of DDGBv2 is not at all working. Someone try this..
-- When I tried CWMbackup to restore it landed up into bootlop at all 3 times; where as the same time my other CWM backup could restore my device fully..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Re-Flashing DDGB V2 ROM is an issue for me: Very Amazing observation
-- Some how, I while trying New mods of JT along with several other apps. When I installed many things all together and got a bootloop (somehow)
-- I when failed to load CWN Recovery; tried to flash the DDGBv2 ROM itself. I tried this for 3 times but all 3 times it stuck into booloop.
-- But when I tried to Flash other ROM it worked.... I want to know the reason !!!
Expert Comments on this, Please: Jyothis Thaliath, Sree Atitde Adjstmnt, Dhinesh Kumar, Hardy Ahir, Shashank, Meet and any one who friendly enough on doing things with their devices NOTICE AND COMMENT PLEASE...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- Boot Sound has been added but its not working coz, added sound is not in required format. It has to be boot.wav, shutdown.wav and android_audio.mp3 (here Dhinesh have provided all .mp3 files, so no boot sound on reboot or shutdown)
-- Note: No need to add any additional files in library or etc for getting boot audio or shutdown audio as discussed by our friend Panneer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Linux partition' and 'androidswap' thing working with this ROM and got Good Gaming experience with this ROM although it wasn't consistent every time and for that I dont blame this ROM but the Linux partition. I tried all this to play Temple Run 2.
-- I am still confused on this Linux partition whether it works always or sometimes. Lags still there many a times and some times its like a FISH !!!.
-- but the fact was that I created the Linux partition when I was on GINGER XF and i also configured swappaines during that time only.
-- When I tried all method to configure Linux partition with DDGB v2 I could not configure swappines and the error every time was something like " the said partition is busy"
-- To overcome that I rebooted into recovery and tried creating swappines but failed. Why I tried this coz i was successful with this method while giving demo (setting up) this linux partition on Ashish Chopra 's device (a member here) using TV8. Lol but the same method did not work for myself.( Ashish Chopra )
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE MARK THIS:
Remember Friend DO NOT take my words here as a criticism on DD-GB v2. I also voted this ROM as the best till now and liked it as well. HEre my too much detailed post is to get some underneath hidden facts behind issues occurred with ROM flashing and Backups
Let find out the reasons behind it so that If its a real issue then can be corrected in Next versions of ROMs but our fellow members...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What can be the ISSUE behind all this ????
I had several doubts and at the top of the list is: APPS2SD as Kitchen warns that apps2sd is not compatible with A57
So the Doubt List comprised of following:
1. Apps2SD
2. Added files in /system/Framework in this ROM
3. Added files in /system/bin and /system/xbin
4. 'XLoud function' or 'Beats Audio' functionality and related files in /system
5. Configuration of 'Linux Partition' and the 'androidswap' file in init.d
I really want the Developer and other experts to take this post seriously. Hope we can get something out of it...

``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
I think the major issue here is phone not booting when tried to reflashing or restoring CWM backup...
This issue is solvable when we perform additional step after reflashing or restoring rom..the step is wipe data/factory reset alone...
After that when we reboot our phone will boot normally...
Next is linux swap error:
``````` `` ``````` ``````` ```````
IN my phone i have created linux swap partition using mini tool.as third partition...However i never configured that partition using any special software like swapper2 & etc..But heavy games r working well like gta3,temple run 2 and so on..
For configuring swap I think we dont want any softwares It will got automatiically working (Solution for testing)
If it not works fell free to post reply...

Dhinesh Kumar

Great job guys and Thanks for Rom, I am currently running this Rom. I found some problems if u may fix it would be great
-- I am unable to install facebook app in the device, I used to install the updates in the Stock Rom as the stock rom already contains the facebook. So what i have done is taken the stock rom facebook app and installed but unable to update it and even the fruit ninja, etc., It shows device is incompatible.
-- The dialer app. It doesnt show the call time and date. I have tried to replace the dialer with samsung dialer but it doesnt work ( for me ). if there is a app which shows the time and date of the call and from which sim the call comes from. that app would be great like exdialer but with this app it doesn't show what sim the call came from.
-- my humble request to please increase the ear piece volume, i dont know whether it is hardware or software problem. I have tried all the tweaks and apps which are available in market but nothing works.
Please reply me, I am ready to test the ROM, i have once bricked the phone went for hardware replacement also . he gave the hardware part which have damaged lol...

GThrill ROM for JIAYU G3
The latest version GThrill ROM is based on "CM10" rom from needrom.com. I have applied some tweaks, removed some apps, added some and added option for the selection of EN (ph, us) language. The original purpose was for personal use, but I thought to share it, in case anyone wants to try.

CMW recovery flashed but no go
Hi there,
I tried to get into the newly flashed CWMR but somehow I've failed. What I've done is use mobileuncle tools to get into CWM 5 and from there flash the zipfile I've downloaded from the sources. Now the CWM app does boot into recovery but I get this little android figure with a ! from it's belly. Not good I suppose.
I'd realy like to try out this rom but without working recovery I'm a bit scared I'm going to brick the thing....
Could you please advise??
Greetings,
Andreas
i use gthrill for a couple of days and the only problem i have is that when i open the wifi after some time the signal in one of my two sim drop....

Drivers are ok. Tried every single port. Worked fine 2 days ago - Jiayu was with ICS 4.0.4.
Not recognised as a mass storage.

Didn't work. Got it working using the dd method (way easier if you ask me ).
Now, I've installed CWM 5.5.0.4 in /dev/recovery but when trying to flash the zip file for the LewaOS rom it gives me 'cannot open file'. Is that because I need the newer version of CWM mentioned in the opening post? Or just something else? Perhaps because there's 'spaces' in the filename? I'll let you know if I find something out there !
** Update **
I downloaded the correct rom but still no go It just doesn't want to install the rom...

Hi
Reflashed again.
Everything is fine.
I think is slower than original ICS 4.0.4 ROM, but stable and good.
Keep up good work!
***Update:***
Battery life much improved, at least 15-20%
I found this ROM very good so far.
There's only small issue with some mobile web sites. Some of the links cannot be open.
I've installed Opera browser in addition but is exactly the same so
I'm not sure: maybe there is a problem in ROM or badly written mobile web sites.
Thanks a lot

Thanks for this link. But I don't see any advantages for ZP990 with Stockrom (ZP990 20130904-163745) , only drawbacks:
The Rom is multi-language but doesn’t yet have a complete translate for each language, however it is very straight forward and easy to use!
The 3G works only on SIM no.1.
What I've missed?
The advantage would be to have the MIUI V5 UI!

Hi,
it seems that you dont have a dedicated recovery yet (e.g. clockwork mod) and missed two important steps given on the site linked above:
2 . If you have not already done so run the root with eroot.
3 . Reboot the device into recovery (if you have not already installed used Mobileuncle Tools). Here are the links to download the recovery:
Recovery for Zopo ZP990.
Recovery for Zopo ZP980/C2/C3.
Here is the link from gizChina.com exemplary for Zopo C2 (should work with the given files for ZP990 too): //http://www.gizchina.com/2013/08/18/how-to-root-recovery-and-rom-update-on-zopo-c2-platinum/.
And here another nice thread for ZP990-rooting/recovery/rom here on xda-developers (the way it worked for me): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403825

thanks for replying,
my device is ZOPO C2 & is already rooted but as you read there is no ''install zip from sd'' option so I can't proceed. When installed clockword mod & run it, says that my device is not listed. Still searching fro solution ...
You need to download recovery and "update recovery" from mobileuncle tools. In GizRom post you can find recovery download link.

Hello Overheat2747
installed it yesterday, 1st impression is how beautiful & solid looks. Great looking icons, system apps & smooth working interface. Battery consumption looks great too. My Zopo C2 is brand new, only 2 charges, 1st day of use with wifi ON & downloading many apps & updates still 88%. There is a problem with installing system autoupdate. ROM recognizes that there is a new update ( MIUI 3.10.25 weekly build ) it downloads it normally but when the phone restarts & trying to update it says: Signature verification FAILED & the phone reboots. These for now, once I experience more I leave my comments.
On first page you can find an update: New MIUI V5 Rom for ZP980/C2 and C3 with 100% Italian/Spanish/French/English/Chinese language support!
No update for the Zp990.....:crying:

Well first impressions are quite nice. Very stylish rom with nice tweaks.
Original launcher resembles too much iOS, and not that customizable, so i my self use nova launcher.
Battery life seems to be similar to original ZOPO firmware, for me 1.5 - 2 days of work.
Bluetooth, wifi and gps works great. dual sim-card also functioning like it should.
second sim-card dont support 3g data, but that is the same on ZOPO original firmware.
Bugs found so far:
- You cannot define in Camera settings where to save pictures. On phone or ext. sd-card. Now whats weird, is that camera saves photos on sd-card, but when you click (or scroll left) to open gallery, it shows phone memory. So you cannot browse recently taken photos, instead you need to go to gallery through menu. a bit annoying.
- Another thing with MI stock camera is that you cannot disable sounds on it. So in result everytime the camera focuses (witch is alot), you get this annoying plimp sound.
FIX: To resolve these i installed silent camera app, witch seems to know correct place of photos and does not make any sound at all.
- Another minor bug is when you select indicator led colors. Settings just crashes every time you change color for specific indication.
I have not found any fixes for this. But this is not that important anyway.
Overall i like it. I think i will stick to this ROM. Much nicer then zopo original.
Vinsik , absolutely right about annoying beep souns on camera, will try your solution. I noticed RAM consumption is not so good as Original Zopo ROM, even when the phone maked fresh restart maximun free RAM is about 370mb. With original ROM & clean master installed RAM was 50% free. Another problem is I can't install the build update 3.10.25. When I hit install the phone reboots and in recovery says "signature verification failed". Any solutions ?

Thats weird. I have always over 700mb free ram. Only when i open a lot of apps and settings i get it down to 450.mb. So its all in the apps. Forgot to mention. I have 2g/32g version.
I think updating through ui it self wont work. You need to flash it. The newest release is on the first page, no?
For "Signature verification..." bug try to re-download package and repeat operation (install zip from sd card).

In Stock rom folder replace recovery.img with the one in blog's recovery.img(twrp recovery for spice MI 530) and flash that through spflastool.
It is important to format emmc for installing lewa rom in spice mi 530,
Because i tried to install lewa rom through cwm, i followed all yoir instruction,
But phone becomes dead after install lewa noting happens, then i have flash again jelly bean through sp flash tool,
M askimg about emmc because it is related to boot, and we formatted it, may be its creates problem?
Or lewa rom only sucessfully install through twrp recovery,
Please help i tried again tonight.

No, emmc formatting is not necessary. TWRP is recommended.

I tried 2 methods to do this already:
1. Tried to replace this file using root explorer. However, it doesn't allow me to copy any file inside system/lib. Also tried various other explorers to do this. Same issue - doesn't allow copying inside system/lib.
2. I has some patch zip package - autofocus.zip and af.zip (2 different patches I googled). I modified these zip to remove their zip content and add my stock rom file 'libcameracustom.so". Then I flashed this zip file in recovery mode. In this case phone hangs. I had to reflash your rom to get it working again. Pls note, the zip file also contains META folder with some CERT files etc which I did not remove. I only removed from /lib folder and added from my stock rom system/lib/libcameracustom.so
Maybe I tried wrong ways to replace "libcameracustom.so" - explain me the right way to do it.
Thanks,

Use x-plore.Open x-plore->open Configuration->tick "show hidden files"and give root access asd "Superuser + mount writable"->then go to system/lib filder and replace the lib file with stock one.->long press on replaced file and select Permissions and change that to 644.save and reboot.
Hi gentlemen
Here's my mix of eragon and stock ROM. It's a quiet stable ROM with additional futures and some battery and system tweaks.
It's on your own risk but if I'm availabe, I try to help.

Pyramide3 is stopped today 25.2.19 in case of bug.
Don't use it until I give new informations
https://mega.nz/#F!x5lhXIyJ!Vx66QvMccfBCOj1yb042FA
I've tested a lot of roms for our u pro, from stock over eragon over resurrection remix and als a lot of treble GSI ROMs but everywhere were some small but for me important bugs.
So I've decided to go back to stock and combine with eragon (thanks @skeleton1911) and other mods.
In the result I've get in my opinion the best ROM at the moment, because it's running fast and stable.
Gcam 5 and 6 with night shot apps are working. The system font is much more readable,
The battery consumption over night is less than 4% (at the moment I'm running at 2%).
Screen on time with one full charge is between 5 and hopefully 7 hours.
The bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is on board.
Free RAM around 4 GB
Debloaded from qualcomm logging and unwanted running system apps.
Bluetooth is fully working.
Manual
Pyramide3 includes a reboot menu like in eragon.
Additional you'll find battery charge limit (recommended 95% charging normally and only once a month 100% then the battery will live longer)
Additional you'll find other interesting apps.....
You can install latest magisk zip now
1.First make a full backup in twrp with all partitions (choose external sd card memory)
Copy all your personal data of the internal memory to an backup path of your sd card and if you've got titanium make a backup of all user apps........all on your own risk! I'm not responsible for problems.
2.Download and extract DEVpyramide3... Zip and copy to your twrp path under modell number.
Important is that only one subfolder in the path of your modell.
3.in twrp make a full wipe including data and internal storage. Factory reset also in twrp.
4.restore Pyramide3 completely
5.reboot recovery
6.install pyramide3_specials.zip via twrp
7.install magisk 16 via twrp
8.reboot system, give time to boot
9.follow phone questions setup
10.choose in migrate specials which apps you want to use. It's recommended to take nearly all including all choosable options. Try also evie launcher.
11.reboot recovery and with fileexplorer manually delete data/cache and dalvikcache.
12.reboot system and enjoy.
If you have to go back and your TWRP backup was done with locksettings like fingerprint or pattern you have to delete with TWRP file explorer
/data/system/gatekeeper.password.key
/data/system/locksettings.db
/data/system/gatekeeper.pattern.key
reserved
Sounds good .
You added my additional power menu (modified for your rom) ?

Thanx! Interesting...
However, this one is a bit unclear:
"copy to your twrp path". This is a generated TWRP folder on an External SD card?
"under modell number". What do you mean? Model Name like 'U_Pro'?
Or are these folders only visible after I've made a TWRP partition-backup?
Can't I just copy 'DEVpyramide3_V32_by_laptapper.zip' to the root of an external SD?

If you have made a full backup on your sd, you'll see there in the path your actually backup path, and there you'll see also your modell path.
Extract to this path where your actually backup is.
For example the path of my extracted zip in my phone:
/storage/9482-1DFE/TWRP/BACKUPS/A208DDBK040/DEVpyramide3_V32_by_laptapper

Hi laptapper, i test to flash your pyramide rom this week or the next week.
but I have some questions.
the video / photo part of the camera is it good? because on the other rom in low light it is degraded very quickly.
Are you going to make a flashable file, for clean install ?
did you integrate the right fingerprint for safetynet ?
what stock base did you use ?

It's the last available stock and the last eragon and some mods. Fingerprint is ok, gpay etc are working.
Please follow the installation manual in post 1 and this is a clean install. Flashable system isn't possible at the moment, only a twrp full restore is possible.
For me gcam 6 with night mode is working great.

Did you've followed all steps of the installation manual step by step? It's important that you don't forget one step.
Is the phone booting after error 7 ?
Is it a TWRP backup rom?
Or is it a TWRP flashable rom?
Error 7 in twrp is a problem of the meta inf folder ( updater-script) a getprop or something else is wrong.
If you want upload it and I take a look at it
