is there any way to root the dual sim indian version?
Yes, but so far only after unlocking the bootloader via htcdev.
So the above twrp doesn't work with Indian HTC one e8??
Is the Indian dual SIM M8SD a CDMA/GSM device?

I have the same problem. You did it solve?
I'm really need help
rooting a european HTC one e8
Hey there, I bought a new HTC one e8 (in germany) lately and now I want to root it.
I found this manual which seems to use sources from this forum here (cant post a link yet, its on teamandroid called update-htc-one-e8-twrp-recovery-complete-guide).
Everything 'till step 7 worked. Step 8 is where the problems started: I only found recovery in the menu I get when I choose hboot. If I click recover the only thing that happens is some lines of rext (this is very fast so I coudn't read everything but it cant find some image) and then a reboot to the same fastboot menu.
I guess the twrpe8t.img image is the wrong one?!
Is there another custom recovery I could use? Or can you somehow get root without a custom recovery?
If all of this doesn't work how can I get back to "normal"? I can relock the bootloader but it will still show "tampered", doesn't it?
Thanks for your help!
Has noone an idea? Or any tips where to look for more infos perhaps?
Does this root work for e8 version m8sw?

Hi friends
im new here so this is my second post considering my earlier one i got no reply, what i want is help from any android expert in solving my problem. see i recently got the HTC one X plus and unlocked the bootloader, and installed clockwork mod recovery and rooted my phone. now when i receive the offical jb ota update, i cannot update it and it says error and i abort the installation and then reboot the phone in clockwork mod. and by the way all this unlocking and rooting is done thanks to Hasoons2000 tool kit, bless that developer who made this toolkit. so after researching reading many forums and find out that we have to use stock recovery image for htc one +. to fix the problem , i cant find any One X + stock recovery image all i can see are htc one X stock recovery image. but i need the one specific to my phone model.
Also it would be of great help if you show me the process of using stock recovery on hasoons2000 toolkit for oneX+
Since i dont want to risk bricking my expensive phone. so guys if you have the solution to my problem please do help me out.!!
why isnt anyone helping out. or didnt try it

Q&A for [4.4.4][XT1039][OFFICIAL][TWRP/CWM] Stock Moto G 4G 21.1.46.en.EU

Hi,
please, help me =)
I have XT1039 Europe version
Version installed CM11 + CWM 6.0.5.1
--
I would like installed : Android 4.4.4 (Retail Europe) KXB21.14-L1.46 CID7
Wipe D/F reset
Flash Rom
Flash SU
Wipe cache
reboot
LOGO Motorola (M)... ... ... ... .. my BAD !!!
My phone can not go to the next page
Where am I wrong?
Thank's !
Success!
I just unlocked the bootloader of my Moto G 4G (Europe) and flashed CWM and root. Bless your instructions.
Initially I had trouble flashing TWRP recovery image so I tried CWM instead. But I needed to restart every time I kept pressing the power button instead of the volume up button on the fastboot menu.
I didnt need to wipe the dalvik cache to root. Although CWM did alert me that rebooting phone would remove root and gave me the option to fix it.
Sorry to bring an old thread back. Just a quick question.
I have an XT1039 that is exactly as bought (UK version, stock, factory unlocked, 4.4.4, unrooted).
Which of the two instructions should I follow, the one in the 1st post of this thread or the one in post no 23?
Sorry for asking, I just can't understand the difference between the two.
I'd like to have all bloatware removed and rooting would be nice.
I think the one I need is the 1st post one, but I see the warning saying "This is for unlocked bootloader only" and then at the top of the same post it says " Stock with unlocked bootloader warning removed" so I'm completely confused...
TIA
I am a complete novice at playing with android phones but thought i`d have a play. I bought a htc one m7 that was not working and sent it to htc to repair which they did but ,apparently the phone had been bootloaded and they put this back on the repaired phone. Hence when i got it back , it all worked but i could not make calls. Sooo after reading some forums i tried to put a new rom on it, Android Hd one 84.0. Now the phone is stuck in a boot/recovery loop and is not recognised on my computer!! i`ve tried to adb sideload but this doesnt seem to load. Unfortunatley i didnt back up the the data before i done all this. Please help as im using an iphone and its killing me!!!!

Maybe it's just a bootloop and not a brick.
(Bootloop = neverending booting process, brick = either the download or the recovery mode doesn't work any more)
Here are some useful threads about those issues on your device:

Good luck !
Thanks. Have tried all of your suggestions but no joy. Having read the suggestions I noticed it said about re locking the boot loader before installing a rom? If i say exactly what I done maybe I somebody may be able to tell me my errors?
Unlocked using htcdev and rooted. Tried to get s-off using rum runner but it failed with a message"unfortunatley this isn't going to work out with your configure, you have 2 options
1) flash an unsecure kernel that's compatible with your rom
2)flash a different rom.
Have tried to reinstall Android hd one 84.0 from recovery mode, Get a message on installation page at the end saying set_metadata_recursive:some changes failed.
On reboot it goes straight to recovery page and if I go into fast boot the phone shows in the device manager but not as a drive???

Good luck !
Thread closed and thank you.
First of all I did check other forums, etc. before coming here. I also spent countless hours researching the rooting process. Here is my problem:
I'm attempting to root an HTC One x+ (AT&T) that I purchased on amazon. I'm using a Windows 8.1 system, and The latest Windroid tool (v2.3). With the tool I was able to unlock bootloader. The next step (flash a recovery) is where I believe I made my mistake. For my phone there was 2 choices (global and AT&T). I hence learned that my phone is evitare-ul, so I should have used the AT&T version, but I flashed it with the Global TWRP. I also made some errors in that I somehow wiped out the stock ROM (still don't know how that happened). I posted a question in the HTC One x+ forum, and was answered by LLoir (Thank you). The response was:
"You need TWRP for the EVITAREUL and then use the sideload function to put a rom on, also you need to manually flash the boot.img in fastboot. There's no MTP for TWRP Evitareul hence the reason for sideload."
Being new to "rooting" I wasn't sure what Llior was saying, ergo all the research. OK, so I found the TWRP-evitare-ul, but it WON'T FLASH! (Via Windroid). Windroid says it worked, but there is no recovery installed. I am however able to flash and remove the "global TWRP". Lloir answer also referenced 'NO MTP for TWRP evitareul", so I assume it is indeed the global TRWP I had flashed (it does has MTP wish I can enable or disable). When "enabled" my windows computer sees my phone, when "disabled" it doesn't see anything connected. I Need Help in Finding a way to Flash the "TWRP - evitareul" onto my phone.
A related issue is that after each Flash attempt when I attempt to reboot The screen on my phone changes from the "bootloader" screen to the "htc" screen And nothing more. Windroid is waiting and waiting and waiting. I end up pressing the power and volume down button combo to get back to bootloader. With the "global TWRP" I can boot to recovery, but I am in limbo when I try to flash with the "TWRP evitareul". It never installs! I'm guessing I have a booting issue.
Based on various forum articles I believe I'm to get the "Boot.img" to flash when I exe the rom file? I really rather just have the "zip" version I can use with Windroid. I'll need guidance and help there.
As it stands right now I have unlocked bootloader and apparently have the wrong TWRP installed. I have issues with my phone being recognized by my computer, and at various times my computer states there is a problem with windroid (when phone connected via usb). Is using a windows 8.1 system an issue. I can go to my old XP
In summary I need:
1) Find a way to flash the correct TWRP into my HTC One x+
2)be able to flash a ROM (MagioRom).
3)Flash the boot/img.
Guidance and help is appreciated. At least point me in the right direction. This is why I posted here. Please excuse my ignorance. Thanks

Hey all this will seems to be quite an odd thread to all. but its been long i have been using generic HTC one S and i know this site very well since i bought my phone 3 years ago!
Very well, I need to know some basic stuff so i can get perfect mod and upgraded without making it available for my younger brother to play with it by throwing it on wall.
So a good help will be really appreciated.
Only couple of questions:
1. Best ROM that support Indian HTC one S models.
2. Best and 100% working method to get this done successfully.
3. Any way i can backup the generic ROM and framework and get things moving ?
please don't get angry on me, just help me to get my phone renovated.
Thanks XDA

Hi there,
Im a One S user, so PM me if you need anything or reply to this thread so everyone can see
Answers:
1) This matters on opinion, but I would recommend cyanogenmod 11 (or 12.1 as Lollipop). Don't do this yet, see answer 3 to back up.
2) I would just follow my next answer here but if you need a detailed reply, reply back.
3) Unlock bootloader, quite easy, and S-OFF first, in case you lose any data. Any music/pics/etc pls transfer to pc first . Then, after S-OFF (or unlocked bootloader) install a custom recovery TWRP by getting the img file, booting to FASTBOOT mode (If you are on stock OS then go to Settings -> Power -> Uncheck fast boot (This will allow you to boot into fastboot)) .
Then, if that's all succesfull, the rest is easy . Download a new rom (like my answer 1 suggests, CM11 or CM12.1) then flash it . I highly recommend making a nandroid backup in TWRP after this is done transfer to PC. With TWRP 2.8.7.0 you can enable MTP mode in recovery, and then transfer whole TWRP folder to PC. Then, give a full wipe twice for all partition in TWRP (except for USB-OTG obviously).
Any more questions please contact me or reply to this thread, thanks.
