to root the phone-
use Universal Androot and its soo easy-download it from here-Universal Androot
1.download the apk file
2.use root explorer already installed on the device,and install the universalandroot
3.and then simply click root and.... bingo u are done with it ..
the phone has no force closes due to this and u can anytime unroot the device using universalandroot...so dont worry about it

Battery Life

to increase the battery life do the following
1.download set cpu
-either buy it from market or get it from other source(google it people)
2.root the phone if you haven't done it already
3.start set cpu and goto profiles tab
4.select enable profiles
5.click on add profile
a)click charging ac/full-600 max and 600 min
b)charging usb/full -600 max and 600 min
c)charging /full-480 max and 480 min
d)temp>50C-480 max and 122 min
e)screen off-122 max and 122 min
f)battery <31% -245 max and 122 min
6.Word of advice is to -a)turn off auto sync
b)use only a single home replacement app,f you are using multiple like launcher pro ,adw with the
default launcher,then use home manager(free from market)and then kill the other
running home launchers
c)and also use a very light on resources home screen setup,like the one that i use(the launcher is
launcher pro)(the screenshots in the attachment)

STEPS
1.Download the file from here-Download Links2sd
2.Install the app
3.Download the partitioning tool from here-Minitool Partitioning Wizard
4.Install the above software on your computer
5.Now connect the phone via usb to your computer and mount it
6.Start the partition wizard application on your computer
7.Select the mounted drive
8.Right click on the device and select resize
9.Resize your sd card to a suitable limit and leave some unallocated free space
10.Now select that unallocated space and right click and selct modify
11.Now select the format option of ext3 from the drop down list
12.Now come to the home window of the software and on the bottom left side you have an option called apply the pending changes,select that.
13.After the changes have been applied exit the application and then dismount the drive
14.Power off the phone and then remove the sd card once and then reinsert it again and restart he phone
15.Once you are done with that,start the application link2sd and then you are ready to go....link the application you see to you allocated ext2 partition
~CAUTION!!!!~
1.do not link any system app
2.don't link widgets and home launchers like launcher pro or adw
3.and don't link any antivirus app...

After rooting your phone, which custom ROM you are using on it ? are there any 2.2 ROM available for this device ?

...right now....no...but i am surely trying hard to compile android 2.2 (either cyanogen 6.1) or the gingerbread (AOSP) ....will take another month or too....as i am a student and my exams are on....so just wait and watch....
i will also be trying for the clockwork recovery mod on this....but that will take some more time......

could you please post a tutorial showing how you flashed the custom rom after you do that?? I am planning to buy A60 but I am confused between A60 and galaxy 5..
What do yo suggest?? How is the battery backup of A60? backup while playing music? Thanks

Power back of A60 is really not good. Thats why I want to flash 2.2 foryo on it.I've heard on most of the forums out there, but its not easy to find one.
Can anyone out here know if Andro A60 aka (ZTE Penguin) has any 2.2 ROMs available.

but my power backup is quite good...even on active 2g....the battery life is surprisingly good........use a good task killer and disable some services ...the thing will run good...(AS we know Power control hail!!!)

Hello guys i recently bought the Micromax A60 Its camera sucks , the audio play back is worse Bat backup - oooh don't ask anything abt it does'nt last more than 12 Hrs, not a wise mobile to choose after all

Yea Camera is not good , but music is alright ,
but this phone is not at all for Camera and music , If u want to have hands on android then this phone is best for its price ,
anyways if u guys got any development regarding custom roms please let me know.

rooting does not mean that you can install a custom ROM, you need a recovery to do that ...and to make a recovery you need information about the partitions on the phone and there sizes and a lot of other details.

Hi guys,
I have trouble installing the usb driver for my Andriod A60 from the disc that it comes with. I keep getting the error about something to do with the windows logo with 2 options "STOP installation" and "Continue Anyway". No matter what option I chose I get the message saying there was a problem during the installation and your hardware might not work.
Since you guys know a lot about this technical stuff, I figured I ask you guys. any inputs???

Get galaxy 5! Why? A60 has a resisitive screen, really low res screen, small screen, poor processor along with some other stuff. This means that MOST of the apps won't be supported or will lag on it, games will be more of a pain than fun and also I'm not sure about the Micromax Service. Plus, I don't think if it'll ever be updated to 2.2 and further. If you want android for name sake, get A60 but if you want a usable android phone, get Galaxy5!

Is there a 2.1, 2.2 or a 2.3 costom ROM for this thing?????????

i have the same fone Micromax A60, used the same app and i guess its rooted now.

After rooting
I tried the ShootMe App which requires the root access. I shook the fone, got the click sound of screen captured and when i went to root explorer to see that screenshot, it was horrible a png...something i never expected totally crashed pic.

well why you want to install that driver?
if you just want to do USB file transfer, then there is no need of doing that. Just connect your mobile with pc and drag down the status bar in the home screen to the down and click USB connected and then mount. That's it

Only 1 call button well stock had two & the single one calls sim1 the contact button left to the dial button is for sim2
well i tried to port single sim dial from a65 but failed even changing all 100+ hex codes in twelve key entry & many smali edits
Some apps like Root explorer & Poweramp which have white text instead depending on framework look awful

what is non touch screen bug?my friend had micromax a26 just changed default launcher and flashed cwm recovery it now has nonresponsive touch can it be solved? if yes then can i flash a62 roms over them link to the same would be really helpful

well buddy problem comes when you format system while flashing rom & when you update busybox
Solution- well download my invincible rom backup from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/custom-rom-invincible-pure-s5-themed-t2840733
extract zip to sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/here & boot into cwm manually with pressing vol- & power button together till you see recovery while its power off
goto backup & restore & select invincible voila you are done
PS- if you got md5 mismatch error delete nandroid.md5 & make a new blank file of same name

Nothing Works after I flashed MIUI 4.8.29 on my Canvas A110q
My stock rom was acting really weird lately. So I decided to migrate to MIUI from my stock Rom. I flashed MIUI V5 4.8.29 on my device ( The latest release till date) through this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/micromax-canvas-2/development/rom-t2853316 , and it got flashed without an issue. But once I got to the setup screen, everything is too slow and it lags a lot . Home screen doesnt work at all (its just a black screen) and once I lock the screen, thats it!...I cant unlock it, I have to reboot and the same problem persists:eek : . I wiped data, cache and dalvik cache and repeated the whole process over many times with no luck..Is there anything I should consider while changing to MIUI from Stock?? what am I missing??..please help.. and thank u very much in advance

I have installed WSM tools, Authorizations and paid themes apps in my Redmi 1S, but after applying paid themes after some time it is going back to the default theme. Its automatically loading default theme, I dont understand the issue. Could you please help in this...

i did all as u said but it hangs in pre-setting the miui and when i skip all the pre settings then the system launcher is not working man plz help

Mobile data is not turning on in notification bar and when i go to settings/mobile networks/data connection it always sets to sim1 by default

After using MIUI V5 my A110Q went into Boot loop
I was trying to install MIUI 5 tried all this steps
How To Flash :
( Take CMW Backup to Revert back to your old system if anything goes wrong )
Download MIUI_V5.zip File
Copy to root of your SD Card
Go To CMW Recovery (pressing Vol Up + Vol Down + Power button for some time)
Wipe Data/Factory Reset (This will format your phone, make sure you backup all data before this step)
Wipe Cache
Goto Advance Menu > Wipe Dalvik Cache
Goto Mount And Storage and select FORMAT SYSTEM
Go back and Select Install From sdcard
Select MIUI_v5.zip And Select YES
Again Select Install From sdcard and Select MIUI_apn_patch.zip And Select Yes
Repeat the same for MIUI_Network_patch.zip And Select Yes
Reboot

Hello sir., i have jist installed this rome on my a110q. and i n facung a huge problem. installation was completed successfully and when i rebooted the lock screen apeared for 5seconds and then there was a black screen. notification bar can be opene but there is no app drawer or no home screen. the phone is lagging very muchh. Also the system launcer or setting doen not respond in between. plzz help me.. everyother feature is working like app instalation or caling.. But no screen at caling also. i have also installed the three patches u mention but stil no progress.
plzzz help me soon.

[MIUI ROM] Theme resetting to default theme problem !! help
Whenever I apply a paid Theme in MIUI ROM v4.8.29 it is getting reset to default theme automatically after few minutes.. How to solve this problem.. Is there any solution !!plz help

I have just installed ur MIUI* ROM on my micromax A110q. When i installed the Rom usnimg CWM,* the installation went successful. When i reboot the phone there was the MIUI startup wizard.* It all went well but system was lagging.* After completing everything there was a black screen instaed of home screen (app drawer).* The notification bar was working. Setting and system launcher were not responding on between.* When i turned the display off and then on it by power button,* there* was light on the lower buttons which means screen was on but no display and even lock screen.* Then I read about the three patches listed in the thread and installed them. But stil the same problem.* Every time I have to switch off the phone and turn it on to use it.* And if once th e screen turn off then there is nothing I can do.* I have tried everything at three times but no progress.* When th e lock screen appears first time,* I tried camera from there and it's working good.* I even tried calling but there was no display.* I tapped on screen at different places and at last picked up the call and its working fine.* I also tried to install app by receiving it through blue tooth and it was installed successfully. I was able to open it once only just after installing it.** Because later on it went to ap drawer which I can't see.
So at last I figured that there is only one problem that is in display.** But the notification bar and setting are being displayed.* Also when I try to change Wallpaper in setting,* the theme and setting crashes.

If these 2 bugs are fixed then its got to be a good one.

[XOLO Q3000] [ROM] MIUI7_v5.8.27 with update_5.9.1

I am presenting my 5th ported ROM MIUI7_v5.8.27 for Xolo Q3000, with special thanks to:
1) Xolo for the awesome phone at affordable price,
2) MIUI for the wonderful rom,
3) TurkDevs for port rom.
4) @avi3230 for Boot Logo,
5) Of course, me for Repartitioning & Porting ROM for Xolo Q3000.
Pre-requisites:
1) Custom recovery such as TWRP, CWM, PhilzTouch(TWRP 2.8.4 rev2 prefered, as I've tested rom using this recovery)
2) Before proceeding, Back up your Current Rom (Failsafe).
3) /System minimum 1gb partition (Repartition your phone, before you flash this ROM).
4) SP Flash Tools & Stock rom (In case, If you are in trouble).
Procedure:
1) Put the downloaded MiuiV7_5.8.27.zip in sd card.
2) Delete any files from previously installed rom from sd card & phone storage (especially /android/data folder).
3) Reboot to Recovery using root apps or by pressing (PowerOn + VolumeUp) key combination.
4) Wipe /system, /data, /cache, Dalvik Cache, Android Secure using Advanced Wipe.
5) Install MiuiV7_5.8.27.zip
6) Don't reboot system, Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache & Press Home button.
7) Immediately, Install the MIUI7_Port_Patch.zip
8) Again, Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache.
9) Reboot System.
10) 1st boot may take 3-5 minutes (Screen will be a boot animation not a Boot Logo. If you stuck at Boot Logo, then go to recovery & flash the rom again).
WARNING:
I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE. EVEN THOUGH, I'VE TESTED & USING IT ON MY DEVICE. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Until & unless someone ask for help, It's just a foolishness.
It's just like a miracle, that u can port a ROM. It's not that easy as stealing someone's work.
Instead of miui, port another ROM & we will salute u.
& finally nobody forces u to use ROM. Its always depends on users will.

I'll update procedure to flash ota, but there is a little bug to solve, unless u will not see the version as 5.9.1. So, wait for a while.

Yes i can post 5.8.27 two days back,but i didn't post as i m waiting for 5.9.1 ,in between you post the 5.8.27 with ota 5.9.1 ,so in reply in paste the ota links

There is a lot of difference between u & me. I've ported, the port by Turkdevs for GM Discovery, to our Xolo Q3000 & made it to work on our device.
Main developer of the ROM is MIUI itself not turkdevs, they just made it to work on GM Discovery.
But, u hv just stolen the port work done by me & saying that u have ported the ROM.
U might have posted the ROM early, if u could have solve the problem, persisting while porting the rom.
So, u should keep in mind before doing such ....... Don't b a noob.

the main file is stolen by you ,that is not made by you,the main developer is "WES", first make that file & then said i made this file & i m developer on this rom,not porter

MiUi7_5.9.1_Update is getting installed but version remains v5.8.27. Version is not important for me hope updates are installed....

i want to share one thing i flash the 5.8.27 on 5.8.20 without formatting the data/system/cache etc & flash ur new patch without formatting the data/system/cache etc
the rom works fine ,it updates to 5.8.27 as OTA without losing any previous data, i don't know how it happen but its true

Wes & Smile2life are not the devs of ROM, they just ported it to GM Discovery.
Developer is MIUI.
I port MIUI from Redmi Note 3G global for my personal use. But, to make others feel MIUI, I posted the ROM, after @avi3230 had stopped, posting for Q3000.
I used to make complete zip, It's not that hard, while testing the ROM, but to minimize my & user data usage, I post in the form of Patch to full ROM, Note 3g full ROM is above 600mb while that of turkdevs hardly 400mb.
But, u wouldn't understand..... carry on ur work.......

@sachin.r.fulzele & @rohitsinghpu your brilliant work making our xolo q3000 shine. And all of us who are using Miui rom are that much clever to recognize the contribution and hardwork of sachin.r.fulzele. So as Mr. Vinay mentioned you both are heart of Q3000 development.

Hi guy i made a patch for MIUI v8 6.11.25 theme store so that you can get themes in English ..
This patch is applicable only for latest version of MIUI 8
which is 6.11.25 RC5 build.
(later i will give universal patch for upcoming all MIUI builds )
Instructions
Set default theme(Though its optional but its better to do) and boot into TWRP
1.clear caches "only"
2.flash this zip
3.reboot the phone ..(it will take time to boot )
4.Go to setting/installed app then clear data of theme app
5.Turn ON internet then open theme app (from home)
and wait for some time ..it will take time to download few files from MI's servers ...
6.Voila you got theme store in English with lot of beautiful themes ..enjoy ...???‚
7. Download any theme and then apply , you will see only wallpaper changed so reboot once ..
8.Now u will see your whole system ui is themed ...???‚
Don't forget to download a theme called "Paper World" its very nice and dynamic too
Mi India use to release so many themes such as Bahubali, Game of thrones, MSD, Happy new year etc. on various events(new year,diwali,movies etc) so now all those you will get ...

miui for zuk z1 is being maintained by a chinese developer heavenke bro not me ...i just released a patch for it...
for global rom there is nothing new except no Chinese apps n English theme store
