Note 4 Metal back; Blocks signal like Note 3? - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

Is the antenna on the note 4 actually in the metal band, hence the plastic lines in the plastic? Or is the antenna in the actual phone?
The reason I ask is I have always replaced the back cover on my Note, (ugly large verizon 4G lte logo) and I would prefer a metal one, only they blocked signal on my Note 3, same issue with metal bumpers on the Note 3. I don't see the need for a metal bumper on N4, just a metal back would be nice. If not, then maybe a back with the same rubbery feel as the Galaxy Alpha, I hope some company releases replacement backs with that cool material.
I put some pics to show the little lines in the note 4.

these are the backs I used on my note 3, what I'm referring to:

The antenna is NOT in the metal band - they are situated in the back of the phone left of center when looking at the device (Wi-Fi antennas are located on the right of center, and NFC are located on the bottom/middle left of center). Details are in the FCC report. I pulled this up for someone else a week or two ago. Link to the T-Mobile version is attached; however the other version I saw was the same (which of course makes sense as they wouldn't build the phones physically in a different manner).

Case Vs Cradle

I want a case , or a rubber encasing perhaps (just waiting to see all the accessories once this goes global) BUT I love the idea of a cradle..
If I were to give you one.. which would you choose? I want both but it isn't really feasible hey..
The case no need for a dock yeett ....
I wonder is the front and back for the galaxy S easily exchange able ?
I got a silicone case on ebay for <$3us. I know it might stretch if I'm not careful, but it would let you keep your phone safe without precluding a cradle.
Check out these. I bet you could think of something better.

The back is just a piece of plastic, you just pop it off with your finger, nothing fancy at all. I fully expect a wide variety of cheap replacement backs for this phone in a very short period of time. That is why I am not worrying about scratching the back much, just the screen.

If anyone gets this, please report back, I'm only interested due to the backing/kickstand. I dislike the front, screen cover. The link provides some pictures, even more can be found here: http://www.bb.co.kr/main/model/model.php?model_id=2373993&qword=SHW-M110s

There are two different models in the pic I posted - the kick-stand version doesn't come with the fold over screen cover

It simply fits.
Not bad but I cannot stand the hole in the left hand corner!

We call this style the DiamondFlex at TPU-Cases, others simply call it the Diamond Pattern. This look amazing on the phone. We didnt make this style for the G2x, but have made them for numerous other phones. I've never seen a TPU case designed like the one you posted, I'm surprised its able to hold its shape with such a large cutout in the corner. I personally would of done 2 holes in that corner instead of 1. Although we ended up just using 1 hole for the power button since only the Korean model has that corner port anyways.

Yes, this hex pattern looks pretty good. This is a reason why I went for this. Moreover, it simply fits 100%. It's pretty easy to put on but it's not loose at all.
I can live with this "TV antenna" cutout though.
Wondering how this compares: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050ISVW6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A2HOCXU5SC35JO Obviously this one is solid black, and it doesn't appear to have an antenna cutout.
I just ordered one anyway, hopefully it will work for me.

incipio premium kickstand case

I haven't seen any talk about this particular case, but I just purchased it. For those that might be interested, I'll post pictures once I receive it in the mail. If there are any special requests for a particular shot, let me know.
2/22/12 - Update with pics and short review. Better late than never, right? lol
Before going any further, I must point out the serious flaws with this case. There are two of them. The first being that the case absolutely will not support the tablet in the slot for the last angle setting (see YouTube video below). The second is, the charging port is covered with the case folded. This can be easily remedied if you want to cut a small slot in the applicable spot.
The case so far appears to be of great quality. All specific cut outs for the power button, volume rocker, 3.5mm jack, camera / flash and mic are spot on. I see no issues with the case other than what's mentioned above. With the case closed, it still has a very small, sleek and sexy form factor. If you can live with the problems mentioned above, I say it's an excellent case. After all, we do have limited options here when it comes to the Galaxy Tab 8.9.
I may give Incipio a call and point them to the YouTube video and see if they plan on updated this case to address the issue of not being able to support itself on the last angle setting.

Here is the problem with the stand not holding itself up on the last angle setting.
btt. Added pictures, YouTube video and a short review.
Thanks for the review. I was considering this case but I don't like the fact that it won't support the tablet in the last slot. You've just saved me $40.
I noticed that problem with it slipping on the last slot, on mine it's not always the case, but annoying nonetheless.
I used the elastic band and flipped it over so that it covers that last slot and now the tab stays put.
Glad to see a good brand carries a case for the 8.9. As far as the last slot issue goes, has anyone else used one of the other brands with the same design and can they chime in if it's a normal issue?

[Q] No signal after screen replacement: Damaged motherboard?

I was doing a screen replacement on a Nexus 5 and a small part from the motherboard fell off.
3 pictures to illustrate the problem here:
http://min.us/mKOC4FQe6F0HI
Afterwards, the mobile connection was a lot worse than before. Now, 2 weeks later, the phone's connection has become unusable and it constantly shows no service. Only very rarely does it have any sort of connection (Edge/3G/H/4G).
Questions:
1)What is the part that came off? (see album above) My knowledge is a bit limited but I'm quite sure it has to do with the connection? I notice there are 3 other parts exactly like this spread over the motherboard.
2)Can I repair it? Do I glue it back on? Do I solder it on? Does it somehow click on? (I have tried if it clicks but this part is so tiny it's almost impossible to really handle
3)Based on my explanation, do you think this tiny part is the only cause? The phone still had some connection at first but it got worse. I'm also planning to order replacement antenna cables to see if that helps.
Thanks in advance!

In my case.. I had to replace the charging circuit Cuz it was 'broken' as described by the cellphone shop.. It has connections to the antenna.. Now phone is fully working.. Before that though, I tried different sim cards with different companies (bell Rogers and fido) all worked on my phone except my carrier sim card (mobilicity). After replacing the circuit I just mentioned everything works fine. Cost is 25$
Needs solder it's an rf trimmer /radio frequency. It's vital to an ariel of one type or other. If you want to risk a bodge assemble everything except the back and hold it in place with bluetack. If it works I was going to say epoxy it but don't. Get someone to solder it. It's easy to do if you have the skills.
Oh vital it's right way round and has now been turned. There should be a slot for tuning it.

Official S6 Edge+ S-View Case w/ Note 7

I recently purchased a Note 7 and didn't want to wait for an online order or pay $50 for a case so I purchased a Samsung official S View clear case for the S6 Edge+. The actual size difference does not prevent a secure fit and it was advertised on the Best Buy site for $25 but rang up at only $15 in store.
Currently it does not appear to enable any special functionality but does provide a translucent window to preview the screen. The camera is a perfect fit and the device clips in securely enough to hold it by the case and not slip loose. The S-pen requires removing the bottom right corner to access (or possibly altering the case).
May not apply to other accessories or case designs, especially full body cases. This is an alternative to long delivery times, ordering directly from manufacturer sites, and the ridiculous cost of "premium" accessories available at this time.
Photos would be welcome

Thanks for those. Can you get the s-pen out reasonably easy? Can't tell if the corner covers it from that photo and looking at the ones on vacation Amazon (cover is $20 there), it looks questionable.

Looks like this one covers the bottom corner of the S-pen while the proprietary Note 7 S-View case clips to the right side and stops at the S-pen with only a little extra on the bottom left to compensate. Somehow it almost appears less secure.
Personally, I don't use it enough to justify the extra $35.
