when I use the new RAW-feature introduced with the 38R update together with nightmode it crashes the camerafunction so badly, that no other app
is able to access the camera anymore unless I do a reboot.
Anyone else got this problem?
Yep. I had that happen when using Slow Shutter and RAW enabled. Is that what you mean?

Make few photos and youbwill know but overall ITS not camera APP issue but whole camera because other apps not working too
Got this issue also. I cleared data, deinstalled cameranext, rebooted and did a fresh install. Now everything works like a charm.
If the camerA software fails, even other apps can be malfunction as a result...
I am 100% stock before updating 38r
Everything works fine here. Took 15pics raw night and different shutter speed. Pictures look great

Hi, I'm having issues with my stock camera and downloaded camera apps. Whenever I chose to use the front facing camera it always force close. Any help or suggestion to fix this is greatly appreciated.

Which phone mate and what ROM?

I have a pipo M3 non-3g with a custom ROM. It shows that I have a GT-I9300. Here's a link about the firmware ht*tp://www*.rockchipfirmwa*re.com/node/142. I already clear the data and even go as far as a factory reset. Still the same . Just remove the asterisk for the link

DID you try any custom camera? If not do that and see if the issue is with the stock camera

Must be a bug with the ROM. Try re-flashing the ROM after a full wipe, and see if the issue persists. If that doesn't help, its back to stock then.
I tried using a modified AOSP camera app here. It gave me the same quality video that the stock one that came with cm10 did. Does anyone know of a camera app that can record anything higher than 17mbps video, since everything that moves is pixelated when viewed on a computer. Thanks
*EDIT* I tried HX camera mod, and after a flash, my phone gets frozen at the gs3 logo.

Can try this. The stock 4.4 camera works on TW S3. This one should. Haven't tried it yet.

I never run CM but one I linked to is the N5 AOSP 4.4 camera with increased FPS. I would think it would work on any AOSP base. Shouldn't work on TW but it does. I'm running it on TW with stock app just pulled from Nexus 5. No port. One you were trying to use was ported to International S3. They are talking about putting the 4.4 camera app in the playstore. Don't know what else you could do. That would be bad CM code if AOSP camera don't work.
Should i install the kitkat camera app that was pulled from the source?

That is what I have. Works fine on TW. The one I linked to is that same KitKat camera app with FPS and resolution hacks.
After installing the app and then flashing the file, still gets stuck on gs3 logo. I could try editing the medix_profiles.xml for the app. Will report back

Wipe Dalvik and cache before flash. May be bad updater scripts for your device. I would try manual install with root explorer or move into a flashable TW or CM zip.

I dont think its ever going to work with cm, maybe its the roms fault that it isn't compatible. When i edit the media_profiles.xml, i see no difference. Maybe i didnt modify the right part. Can anyone help with this?

I have a 64gb US version of the OnePlus One, if I use the Stock CM Camera the flash won't work... but if I use the Android camera the flash works fine.
Anyone else?

Seems to be a conflict between stock and google camera. Uninstalling the google cam and deleting stock cameras app data under Apps fixed that for me.

You must be on HDR so just swipe vertical until Auto again . flash will work again

I successfully managed to run HTC One M8's camera on our device! Some things are not working correctly(duo mode,zoe,gallery editing,manual control(Sony framework fault) ), but i wasnt expecting it to even start the app.

Disclaimer:I hope it works for you, because I havent tested it on every rom. I tested on Stock(perfect) and Lollipop(improves camera a lot+more manual controls).
It didn't work on cm11 for some reason.

As i said in my first post, It totally messed up the stock ROM and i had to reinstall it.But worked on DU.
But today I installed ResurrectionRemix I encoutered a problem
I dont know how I did it before, but now it doesnt work(opens app,camera error, closes app).Even the Google Camera or any other camera software dont work :crying: . I really forgot how i did it before. I think I used the system for a while and flashed it directly without wiping anything. I will try that again later today. I really want it to work again, because it is an AMAZING camera app. I hope we see the Sony camera and its processing for LP roms later in time.

It is A LOT better! The little white dots that appear in custom roms in low light are gone. The pictures look amazing(but only 8 megapixels). The focusing in just plain PERFECT and the sounds are very cool. It sounds like a real xenon flash firing. HTC did a wonderful job with the app.

It flashed without a problem. I use the multiboot version of TWRP and flash it on secondary rom, so iI can test different things without messing up the phone.
I'll try today once again

I said that 2 times .It DOESN'T WORK on STOCK. At the moment, I cant make it work even on DU. I will try again and report again, if I find a way to get it working again.

Does the phone boot? Or app crash? You can try rebooting the phone of cleaning cache. I hope we get this app working, cause it is awesome.
Can someone take a look at the files in the zip? I think there are important camera libs being overwritten, but that is just a guess. I am not familiar with the android lib system.

Yea, I don't know how it happened. It worked the first time. But then i wanted to install another lollipop rom. I flashed the zip just like the first time, but all I got was a crash . I will write back if i find a way.
YESSS!! After a bit of messing around, I found a way to get it working. I just used Root Explorer to put the files in the folders. When a message to replace a file appears , just say NO. Then i rebooted and viola-it worked. Now I will try to update the app to the newest version and report back.
Hi, i've installed the last update of Lineage OS (8.1), but the camera app is too bad. I tried with some porting of Google Camera etc, but most of them crash for different reasons and I did't find a good solution.
Is there a camera app, or a zip mod that I can install by recovery, to get a better shot (or at least, like the stock app of the Samsung Experience)?

I'm using : GCam_5.1.018.177470874.41362666_N6_1.8.apk (IDan, 2018-09-12, exynos, changelog)
so far have no problem with regular photos (just potrait photos/selfie), without any changes on option.

I yesterday installed lineage 15.1 on my s7 Edge.. What a fantastic rom. It feels so much faster and smoother to me than stock oreo.
I have installed it with no gapps and have rooted . I wanted to use Google camera as a replacement but every one I have tried force closes immediately (must have tried 20 or more based on recommendations here, in reddit and elsewhere).
Any suggestions on how to get this working? What puzzles me is that others seem to have it working. Maybe because I haven't flashed gapps?

Semi OT: is there a fix for the bad processing and quality of the Whatsapp and Instagram (specially with the Stories) camera?
With android oreo you need to have the "google service framework" apk installed for google apps. You can install the attached app or you can search for it on apkmirror. After installation you can freeze the app with titanium backup.

I think not, as of for now, but the dev had already found the problem and made some improvement, but still in progress, hopefully in the next LOS update there will be good news for camera.

The update for LOS is done already, you might wanna try do dirty flash over existing build. and update here for the result (i can't update right now).

I wouldn't say that there is a very big difference. ( 30+ minutes on lineage)

I don't think that's the problem, I flashed gapps and there isn't any camera app in app drawer. So, I am not able to use camera app and flashlight.
