[Q] Verizon firmware 4.4.3 updat eon CyanogenMod 11 - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Sorry for the noob question....
I have a Verizon M8, s-off, running CyanogenMod 11 rom. Been using it for about a month with no problems but would like to branch out and try other roms. I know I need to update to Verizon 4.4.3 firmware to avoid long boot times.
I did the sdcard firmware update method per the thread below and everything seemed to go fine but a don't know how to verify the firmware update is good on CM11. I dont know where to look. Any ideas? I cant post on that thread yet or I would ask there.

[Q] OTA Updates for S3 not working

I am using an AT&T s3 on cyanogenmod 11. I am trying to get back to the stock rom. The latest version that I could find is 4.1.1. Since my s3 is unlocked on T-mobile, I can't get OTA updates. I have also tried kies. Is there anyway for me to get back to stock 4.4.2 touchwiz? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am new to rooting and flashing roms.
Can anyone help?

4.4.4 Scrosler No WIFI Help
First let me say thanks Scott for the work you have done with these Rom's.
I have encountered my first issue, I clean flashed both the Odex and De-Odex copies and have had no luck enabling WiFi. The icon simply flashes briefly. I rolled back to 4.4.3 and Wifi worked like a champ without issue.
Thought I would mention this, I have not yet found anyone else having this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
Wifi not working on DeOdex rom.
I just got my phone today and installed the DeOdex version of the rom. Now my wifi won't turn on. I saw that I'm not the only person with the problem, but I guess I can confirm that it effects the DeOdex rom also. Hope it's an easy fix and can be pushed out soon.
Update: I figured out what the problem was. I, and presumably others here, didn't flash the 4.4.4 firmware 3.28.605.4 which comes with updated radios. I was considering trying out a different rom to see if I could get wifi working, and stumbled upon this and fixed my issue. Hope this helps others, and thanks so much for all the work you have done on this.
Flashing
Can I flash this ROM over my stock rooted 4.4.3 ROM and 4.4.4 firmware without doing a data wipe?
Well seeing as this separate thread is so useful I went ahead and just dirty flashed it after I backed my current ROM up. Seems to work fine so far.

Talk to the XDA moderators. I hate these automatic threads. They are junk.
Hi.. As mentioned on the first post, I need to use latest 4.4.4 firmware before flash this ROM. Currently my M8 Verizon on android 4.4.3 with software number 2.21.605.2, s-off, root, and unlocked bootloader. Where do I can find the latest firmware needed to flash this ROM. A month ago I found that my current firmware, 2.21.605.2 is the latest firmware. Is it correct? So sorry for the questions, I'm newbie on this. Thanks.

The 4.4.4 firmware is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723159
Follow the instructions, afterwards you can flash a 4.4.4 rom.
I have flashed the firmware, reflash the rom, still no hope
Pretty sure the firmware will stick. You'd need to flash back to the old firmware or flash an RUU.

[Completed] [Q] How to I restore my HTC One M8 to pure stock? (Wifi not working!)

*I'm sorry if there is a similar post to this, but all posts I've looked through aren't detailed enough or are extremely out dated. Please direct me to the right place. Thank you so much! <3 *
How do I restore my HTC One M8 to the latest stock everything. (OS, firmware, android version, everything)
I'm not a total newbie in rooting and recoveries, but I just can't seem to find the difference between ROMS and firmware.
Here's what happened:
I was running 4.4.3 rooted on my M8, and then I flashed the MaximusHD ROM (because it had 4.4.4) So I thought, why do the OTA update and then install a ROM when I can just simply install a ROM that already has 4.4.4 installed. What happened then was I lost the ability to turn on wifi, which confused me.
On their post someone wrote that you need to update the firmware or else the wifi wouldn't work. This all got me extremely confused, so I tried to switch on a different ROM to see if the problem would be solved.
I switched over to Android Revolution 21.0, which is what I'm currently stuck on. So I just want to go back to stock HTC firmware and os or whatever it's called.
Here's some info about my device:
HTC One M8, international europe edition, unlocked
Android version: 4.4.4
Software number: 3.28.401.7
I can also add Kernel version, baseband version and build number, but are these necessary?
Thank you to anyone who helps me out with this, I am extremely grateful.
Hi there,
I'd suggest reviewing and having a look at this thread: [GUIDE] Return your European M8 to 100% Stock

[Completed] marshmallow for my moto nexus6 running 5.1.1 buildLZT28N

I have a stock unrooted Motorola nexus6 that is currently running lollipop 5.1.1 build LZY28N. I am using the AT&T straight talk sim card. I cannot get it to update to marshmallow. ive been considering unlocking the bootloader and flashing it myself, but I don't know wich build to download. from what ive gathered the LZY28N build is tmobile build. I also seen somewhere that I need to download build MRA58K. I have downloaded this build but have not proceeded because I'm not sure if it is the correct build. I want to get an official build as to not screw up my new device. I recently had a one plus one running cyanogen 12.1 and it was crashing a lot and I'm trying to prevent this from happening to this phone. anyone out there have any info for me? I know how to unlock bootloader, root, install twrp, and flash. I just need some direction as to what build to flash and have everything go as smooth as possible

Can the S3 i535 with 4.4.2 run CM13?

I have a Verizon S3 unlocked, no root, totally stock android 4.4.2 with baseband yudne1 and build kot49h.i535vrudne1
Want to confirm if I can install CM13 nightly. Everything I read indicates I need to root and update recovery and all that good stuff but it is not possible on 4.4.2
Just want to confirm if anything has changed in the past year with a new process. Forums have a lot of old guides so I would appreciate a quick yes or no. if yes, any link to a stable procedure would really be appreciated.
Thank you in advance. XDA is awesome and the people on this forum are some of the best.
Thanks,

Hey!
As @ShapesBlue says, if you took the OTA to 4.2.2 then you are locked. HOWEVER, there is a method developed by the typical enterprising XDA member that "Downgrades" the firmware by flashing part of the boot loader/firmware but leaves the crucial bit intact that doesn't brick the phone. Sort of a hybrid firmware flash. I believe it's supposed to open the phone up to flashing TWRP and non-stock custom ROMs. I know someone who used it and it worked on CM12.1 last year, but he also had some trouble after awhile (don't know if that was related to this procedure or not) and made an error later that bricked his phone, permanently it seems.
What isn't mentioned in that OP, at least the last time I looked, was that after doing this procedure, if you flash the firmware recommended in the CM12 and CM13 thread OP's, you will overwrite the partition that is spared in his zip file. Then you will be dead! He does explain exactly what partitions are flashed by telling you how to make the zip file. The updater-script I expect is not touched. Looking at it or in the other files you'll need to do this process will show you what's written where, but they have the partitions names. You can go into the CM12.1 thread OP on XDA for our phone and by clicking on the "d2vzw ROM Extras" link you can find all kinds of stuff, plus a few different partition tables that tell you how your phone is setup. There is other info in the OP itself about this and other topics related to flashing CM as well. (I'm the OP )
WARNING! Don't go into this haphazardly though. I would read through that thread thoroughly and see what if any success people are reporting, and ask questions. You don't want to ruin your phone!
It's in the "Android Development" forum in the root forum for our phone.
Report back on what you end up doing.:good:
