I understand how to flashmy GoClever Tab R75 (Horrible device I know, but still) and whatnot but I dont know how to edit the img file to add a command to clear data partition, could anyone possibly do this for me or provide me with a tutorial on how to do this please? If you need the download link to the R75 file with the .img file message me as I cannot post links yet!
Thanks!
Hi,
All the threads I find on this are device specific....so they may not apply. Though, wiping the data partition should be quite easy through custom recovery or fastboot....etc....though I know it's an extra step.
Most firmware flashes I've used do this by default, but perhaps not yours.
You can ask for help with it here....
>Android Development and Hacking >Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!

In the end, you need to extract the image, alter it and then repack it. You may realize this already, but thought I'd point the steps out.
Thread closed. Thank you.

any tips on why every ROM I install crashes after boot or won't install at all? I've tried CWM and TWRP with Cyanogenmod, aopk, MIUI.
Hi!
I see you've already asked in the general Android forum. But you'd be better served asking in your devices section, found here...
> HTC One > One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Just be sure tho that you've followed the flashing instructions exactly. Sound like you're missing a step perhaps.
Good luck!
yeah
all ROMs are a zip file with three sub folders and a boot.img, right? i've tried so many, i fgure there must be a partition that's not getting wiped or something.
Again, you need to ask in the correct forum as linked above.
XDA Assist is here to point you in the right direction, but not for support.
Ask in the thread I linked and someone should be able to help, that knows your device best.

Also....be very descriptive in your post....list any errors or what happens exactly. Will speed up the troubleshooting. ?
I have a NX008HD8G(manufactured after august 2013), with Stock recovery(android recovery 3e)
I edited the build.prop to change "codename" from "REL" to "L". I need to change this back, since it gets stuck on the final bootanimation(bootanimation.zip)!!! I need to access ADB or terminal or change build.prop from the stock recovery!!! How do i do this? Or can someone give me a stock rom I can sideload?
P.S - ADB does not detect my device when in recovery
I'm new, so move this thread if needed!
Hi there,
I found a guide on changing build.prop, including pulling it with adb, editing it and putting it back.
So you need to sort your driver issue out on the PC and get out to see your device first, otherwise you will have trouble....even trying to restore stock if editing fails.
>*Samsung Epic 4G*>*Epic 4G General*>*Editing build.prop tutorial
Keep in mind this is a different devices thread....so do not install or flash anything you find here. But the ADB method should be the same.
Good luck!

As far as stock firmware....I can find nothing on XDA about it. You could ask here about that, or anything else...including issues with build.prop.

I need to access build.prop while in recovery.... and I installed both the Google USB drivers and Universal ADB drivers...
Well, you may need to track down your factory image....but...if you can't get your computer to see your phone, you may have a problem.
Try another computer and set up the drivers. Or try another USB port on yours. And try another cable.
You won't fix it from recovery.
All that said, please see the purpose of XDA Assist...
>*General discussion*>*XDA Assist*>*The Purpose of XDA Assist [Please Read]
We don't do support here....just directions to threads and sections. I've shown you the General Q&A section above, and in your previous XDA Assist thread. There's no section for your device, so that's where you can ask all future questions.
Good luck!

Hi there!
Could very well be a hardware issue....or you may need to reflash your original firmware.
There's no section for your device in XDA...you would need to ask your questions here...

I'm a new user here. I ported a rome for my mtk6572 device . but the rome does have an audio bug. My loud speaker is not working , i replaced these (Attached Thumbnails) from stock rome but the bug not fixed yet ... what sould i do?
Hi,
You should be asking for help in the thread you downloaded the rom from. It's likely a known bug. If you read back through the rom thread starting at the end, you may find talk about how to fix it.
Otherwise, you will likely need to flash your stock firmware again. You can ask for help here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Also, include your device make and model number if you post in the link I suggested.
Good luck!

Ah, I missed the "I ported" part of your post.
See the many useful guides and tutorials here,

If after doing some reading, you still need help, you can ask in that section.

i am looking for a download link for the most current firmware for my phone. i have a sprint htc pg06100 4g phone. im tired of run arounds and web sites that want you to download driver scanners etc.. im simply looking for the firmware file itself and if there is a download link for my phone model, how do i do a manual installation. if anyone can give me a simple answer without the technical and run around nonsense i really would appreciate it.
also can someone explain the donate to me icon on the lower left of the screen? what is it for?
Hi,
Here is a thread on the subject with links to the different firmware (RUU's) for your device. Follow the links to the Android version that suits you,
> HTC EVO Shift 4G > EVO Shift 4G General > Stock evo shift sense rom
If you need further help, or have future questions about your device... Here is where to ask,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/evo-shift-4g/help
Good luck!

Oh, "donate" is for members to donate via PayPal usually to other members. Kind of like a token for their work. It's not expected, just there for people that want to. Of course it needs to be set up for it to work. (with members PayPal info... Etc )

thanks darth i followed some of the links given and most are dead ends and others are links to download some type of downloader that is not related to the file i am looking for. one way or another i know there is a current firmware rom for my phone that all i simply need to do is transfer it onto my sd card then do a boot, select file and let it update my phone.. hopefully someone can see this thread and provide a working link to the file and not some downloader that triggers my virus software.
Everything we use here almost will trigger pc virus software, that's normal.
If the RUU's don't help, which is the official software files for HTC's, then you'll need to ask in the section I linked second for help. ?
---------- Post added at 08:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 PM ----------
You can ask for help here too, since the EVO section is very quiet these days,

firmware
tried a few more links came to one and downloaded the file pg06img.zip and put it on the sd card tried to update the phone it said update failed main image is older. still cant hunt down a current firmware file. i have android version 2.3.4 which is the firmware file i am trying to get ahold of. my phone once i turn it on keeps reseting itself over and over. i need to re-flash it with the correct file. can you help me find it? i can not seem to on my own even through google.
The RUU's are firmware. Please read up on what they are if you have doubts. I've given you links, including your device section and general Q&A, if you want to ask for help there.
Please see the purpose of XDA Assist, from the sticky at the top of the Assist section,

XDA Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support.
Thank you for understanding, thread closed.
