So I thought this was kinda weird... Noticed I was connected to some random att WiFi network... Tried to forget the network and I got a "failed to forget network" message...
Noticed another network at the bottom of my list with random letters and numbers, tried to forget that network and got the same message.
Is it just me being paranoid or is that kinda weird???

Mine did the same thing when I first got it but it hasn't happened again since then. I'm not rooted either.
Mine had a bunch of letters and number too for a network also. I tired to forget the network but it wouldn't. Then one day it magically let me forget the network. I always wonder tho what that network was for????
Having the same problem - "failed to forget network" - can't get my phone to STOP giving this message - can't "forget" ANY network. Help????? I'm running 4.4.2 KitKat on an LG-E980

most of the time when your on wifi are you at your house? because at your house your probably getting a loss of signal inside. Which is therefore why you get the message.
and when you say it shouldn't matter because your on wifi...your half right.
Even though your on wifi..phone calls, and sms messages wont be sent or recieved through wifi. they only go through 1x, so your phone still needs some cell signal no matter what
Ooo ok I understand and yea I'm at home with a 1-2 bar signal

Ok so I just got this phone from Verizon and I did not now that the service would suck, I've been all through the settings bad even using roaming apps but nothing seems to allow me to roam and get a decent reception...
Does anybody know how to unlock the roaming option from the settings?

Have you tried using "Roam Control" app? There is no setting built in to force the roam feature.

dude, i just went thru the same exact thing today. i even went totally stock, kernel, recovery and everything, still stuck in roaming.
i spent hours then i did the factory reset code on the dialer ( *#7780# (Factory Reset) ) and it worked again, i was so happy because i was thinking that i have to deal with the bs with sending the phone back or getting a new sim if that was the case. i hope it works for you also.
EDIT: i thought you were stuck roaming, not that u wanted to roam hahhahaha nevermind

I did try and also used the phone info app to see if I was roaming but nothing changes.
Is there any way to update the Prl? To see if a different prl will give me better reception

Go to settings then data usage and hit menu and you can turn roaming on.

Anyone encounter this message?
Previously the wifi calling worked fine until this morning. I am connected to a wifi network and everything else is working. Now I get this error message.
using Blaz3r2 ROM
I get this from time to time, cleared with a reboot or reset the wifi calling option in settings

I found out this is due to a wifi problem with the wifi network I am trying to connect to.

All you have to do is go to settings - wifi- forget the network and reconnect and you will not have Error 04 anymore

I'm getting frequent Er081's on my TMobile Note Edge. I've tried 3 different ISPs with speeds from 10m-500m, tweaked the QOS and COS on each, multiple wifi's etc.
It will usually initiate the call. But it won't be long before call just drops, anywhere from 15-60 mins in. My calls are always long (>30mins), and I've yet to normally terminate a call. Of course I'm now getting asked what's going on.
On one occasion, the ER081 stayed on the drop-down and wouldn't go away until I rebooted phone (Edge).
IMHO this is a wonderful feature, but TMo is not ready for primetime on this one? Is it true Note 3's and older phones work fine?
Hey Guys,
yesterday my phone started having issues with the WiFi connection. Every couple minutes the WiFi just drops and the phone shows the message "authentification error occured". I odin'd back to stock and upgrade to HE which took a while with this WiFi drops.
The only idea I have are the WiFi channels on my AVM FritzBox - it's a German device and the channels are set to auto. I googled the error and some people report the same issue with all S3 versions (even the international one), but no fix so far.

My phone just started doing this today. I'm running the new jb radio. It only happens when I'm connected to the 5ghz band. Just wondering what you meant by editting the apn file?

Please help me out here - I'm not new to flashing ROMs but this is new to me.
I was on Dirty Unicorns 4.3 AOSP ROM. All was great until I turned off mobile data to save battery. Upon turning back on, I was only in 3g. I switched my network over to LTE/CDMA/3vdo, and LTE came back. All was fine again until later that day.
Suddenly I couldn't make a call, or send a text. This has been like this for hours now. My IMEI is not zero, so that isn't the issue. What else could be the issue? I try calling someone and it says no mobile network available. However I just received a text and also I can use mobile internet just fine.
I've also tried restoring to a previous ROM and that didn't work. What gives?

Keep searching, this issue has been reported multiple times and there's an answer somewhere. I don't use AOSP roms, but maybe look in the CM10.2 Q&A and see if there's a specific fix for this issue when this happens.

Just some more details...
My IMEI is fine.
My network is on "LTE/CDMA/evdo"
I do NOT have roaming bars.
My mobile network comes in and out randomly. If it's showing bars, my calls get stuck at "dialing" and never go through. If I don't have bars, it just said "mobile network not available."
My phone number shows up fine in the "about phone" section.
Every thread I see for fixing this is slightly different - I have my IMEI and I have no roaming signal... so I don't want to follow instructions for a different issue. Anyone have any ideas?
Well, here's an update:
Verizon is at fault. Towers are down in my area. That explains why this made no sense. I'm glad I didn't wipe my phone yet!

Makes sense to me. Had the classic signs. When in doubt call Verizon. The first message will be that they are having problems in your area.
Wondering if I'm having the same problem. I'm in nj and have "network unknown" but all the telephony features work fine....
