Hi all. Ive finally managed to get a grasp of the principles of adb, shell, fastboot, etc.
Anyways - I have a Desire S which I unlocked via htcdev, and installer the lastest clockworkmod recovery. ive been trying to get S-off and nothing has worked for me. Ive spent the last 2 days downloading so much stuff my desktop if full of it - and im nowhere.
I had ICS for htc running before without any mods and wanted to try the root / mod thing.
My phone hangs at the htc boot screen. I have tried installing 3 different cw10.1 zip files all from xda to no avail, they always give me an error. Ive tried running the RUU exe and it ends in an error. I then fund the rom.zip file in the directory and renamed it to PB99IMG.zip, dropped it in root of sdcard and nothing.. it just skips past the lines and goes to fastboot. Should it not be named PB88IMG.zip? I recall seeing those numbers flit past.
Is it possible to force the bastard phone to take cwm this way by renaming the zip? (Ive read no - its only for official RUU's).
anyway - the oneclick didnt work, nor did ver1, ive tried various shell methods (which i cant even recall). Im currentlyunlocked, S-ON, firmware 20.2.2000 or something (the one that revolutionary WONT work on).
Ive been chasing my tail and just gave up.
please give me some info as to what i could have dobe wrong. I installed clockwork via lpay store. I factory reset, cleared caches and batt logs and was able to go into the OS a few times - but obviously one of the methods i tried did something.
thanks again great forum, but honestly, what a complete mess!! there are so many approaches with so many pitfalls its crazy.. esp for a noob when the noob apps dont work either!

There are so many people, blindly walking in to troubles just because they do not read,
and you seem to be one of them....
When you unlock your device via htc dev, your device stays s- on,
it means- whatever you flash, you have to flash boot.img from that thing ( meaning rom naturaly )
via fastboot
through command:
fastboot flash boot boot .img
Without it your phone will never boot...
Recovery you flash via fastboot as well via command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then , when you have it, reboot your device to recovery
and flash superuser and its binaries
And that woud be all you have to do in order to have rooted and booting device...
Edit: Now i've seen your other post- it is a 100% the one im reading now,
You should know it is enough to post your question once,
people'll find it...
Because of impatience you're in trouble already with your phone
tx -
tx for that info - ill give it a go.
I reposted because some1 there said i was in the wrong section and supplied a link for the correct section (here) - so yes, i reposted to get the correct replies.
not to digress:
but as for not reading - i can assure u ive read alot. Been a freelance developer for 15 years. That doesnt mean that rooting often requires a handful of little hacks when things dont go smooth. Just like alot of programming tuts, the rooting ones have a similar "assumption" that u know whats half potting, and what will cause what and what wont. All the articles i read i made sure were either 2012 or 2013 - there is ALOT of old non applicable info around, I stick to xda of course as i really trust this place. as usual, not all is 1-2-3. thats all.

On HTC devices, the bootloader is called HBOOT. This is a 100% device-specific program whose sole purpose is to initialize the hardware so that an operating system (such as Android, i.e. Linux) can load. If your bootloader is damaged, your device is 100% bricked.
To prevent tampering with the system, HTC have locked ("S-ON") their bootloaders so that they won't accept unsigned ROM images. So, on your HTC phone, you cannot install any operating system other than what's provided by HTC. You can partially lift these restrictions by unlocking via htcdev, as you have, or you can fully lift all restrictions on your device by going S-OFF. S-OFF-ing the Desire S is done by exploiting a bug in HBOOT version 0.98 and overwriting the bootloader with a patched version ("Revolutionary") that has all write protection disabled.
In order to flash official HTC upgrade packages ("RUU"s), you can be either S-ON or S-OFF, but if you're S-ON you MUST lock the bootloader. Anything that's not a RUU can (only) be flashed without re-locking the bootloader.
Having an unlocked bootloader is only relevant when flashing new ROMs or recoveries. Having an unlocked or locked bootloader per se will not affect booting at all, with one well-known exception: if you're S-ON and htcdev unlocked, the write protection installed by the bootloader is still on for the bootloader, radio, and kernel partitions. This means that you can't flash kernels from a running OS -- only from the bootloader. This means that when you flash a custom ROM, it will not be able to flash the kernel automatically, you have to do that manually via fastboot. Failing to do that will result in your phone freezing on the white HTC screen when it tries to boot.
#S-on/Off
I have been unable to get mine to off -

That's expected, because you're most likely not running a ROM that has a HBOOT version that is vulnerable to the exploit used by Revolutionary.
edit: nope, your HBOOT is newer than 0.98 and is therefore not exploitable.

Only official HTC RUUs require that the bootloader be locked.
Cyanogenmod can only be installed with the bootloader unlocked, but you may always re-lock after installing it. Remember to manually flash the boot.img (that's the kernel) via fastboot directly after flashing CM through your custom recovery.

The recovery is a specialized mini-Android OS that allows you to flash new software (such as unofficial ROMs such as CM) to your device. What recovery you have installed has no bearing on your main OS. If you're htcdev unlocked, the only way you can install a custom (i.e. non-stock and non-crippled) recovery is via fastboot; if you're S-OFF you can use the 4EXT updater app from Google Play.

boot.img is inside the zip of the ROM you're going to flash.

# bootloader
The bootloader must be locked to install an RUU (stock rom), it must be unlocked to install a custom rom.
# s-on / s-off
If you unlock your bootloader through htcdev.com, the phone stays s-on. This means you can't install a different radio or hboot (mostly not necessary anyway), or write to the /boot partition or recovery apart from in fastboot.
That means, after every rom installation, you have to reboot to bootloader (fastboot), and flash the boot.img (extracted from the rom you installed)
# recovery
A custom recovery is a must for flashing custom roms (it's where you flash the zips) , I recommend 4ext, other known recoveries are Cwm and twrp. Be aware that you can only flash recoveries in fastboot (not through an app) , if your device is s-on
1.s-off means you can flash anything you want to all partitions on the phone..
S- on (htc dev unlocked) bootloader is unlocked so you gain acces to system partition,
but neither to radio partition nor bootloader itself, so you cannot freely change them at will.
While flashing rom via recovery, ( when s-on) each time you'll have to flash boot.img of that rom -via fastboot as well, because kernel partition is not reachable from recovery ,
Boot img is to bo found in the rom zip ( namely boot.img).
and is absolutely necessary to flash that particular one
or, if existing- other that is compatible with rom of you choice and phone model..
Assuming- to flash any custom:
-bootloader has to be unlocked
-you need custom recovery ( 4ext or clockworkmod)
-rom is packed in zip format ( flashing via recovery)
-each time you change roms, you have to flash boot img of that particular rom,
( to be found inside that rom.zip)
from recovery must reboot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)
then flash boot.img...
If it says ok you may now begin booting in to system
Recovery:
To flash anything like roms or mods etc.
custom recovery is required,
stock htc recovery is been there for slightly different purpose,
and is, well.. rather useless for any device customizing...
1.when s-on: is necessary to flash recovery via fastboot-as an < .img > file
so, when it is zipped- extract the file: xxxyy_recovery .img,
change its name just to recovery.img, and flash it...
2.when s-off : is possible to update it via market app (but only when s-off)
RUU: is a stock phone image, and ussualy contains radio and bootloader itself,
flashing it, may upgrade your device's components that normally -while s-on-
you'd not be able to touch, but there is a price:
1.you must relock bootloader: fastboot oem lock
otherwise you'll always be getting an error
(but if you still keep unlock_token from htc dev-can unlock it again)
2.you must establish
A) your device's CID - Customer IDentification number (whether is generic or carrier branded)
B) your phone's software version region ( wwe or asia or..etc)
C) software version ( froyo, gb, ics )
because, normally bootloader will not let you flash lower RUU version
than itself,
( every RUU contains bootloader, so the one working on the device
will never let downgrade itself- well not without a little trick of course-this is XDA)
Bootloader:
It is advised to use only bootloaders for your device- if you try to flash something slse,
you'll end up with a dead phone ( no fastboot no nothing- paperweight)
While s-on you cannot upgrade bootloader in any other way but by flashing official RUU...
While s-off it is possible to write to bootloader partition ( but always a bit risky)
There are:
- stock bootloaders
- patched ( revolutionary )
- eng bootloaders ( modified - possible to overwrite it by different one in case it is necessary)...
...well... now, there is much more to it if one wants to know everything
if there is something you'd like to know in particular- write back...

I was trying to figure out if the OS / roms / RUU had to be tied to boot images - as it appears they do, and whether there was a specific sequence to installing them). Since u clarified the RUU's are all-in-ones i guess the installer takes care of that, where as the others have pointed out - flashing custom roms require the boot.img to be flashed AFTER installing the rom - not the best question i admit!!

That's a valid reason, but in that case you don't need to flash a custom rom first. You just need to use misc_version to lower your mainversion (a fastboot variable) and then you must flash an old (exploitable) RUU. There are numerous guides on how to do this.
I was trying to figure out if the OS / roms / RUU had to be tied to boot images - as it appears they do, and whether there was a specific sequence to installing them). No you don't? The order doesn't matter, as long as you've flashed both.
So I installed ASUS 4.2.1 Build 10.6.1.15.3. I followed the instructions for installing the twrp.blob via fastboot. All of this worked.
Now when boot into recovery mode, TWRP sees no files. If you click the log on the upper right hand side, it's filled with errors like:
E:Unable to find partition size for '/misc'
E:Unable to find partition size for '/staging'
E:Unable to find partition size for '/data'
E:Unable to find partition size for '/recovery'
E:Unable to find partition size for '/boot'
E:Unable to mount '/cache'
And so on... I cannot see the files that I have placed in the folders both for internal storage and for a 8GB Micro SD. I'm at a loss. At this point, I'm not even sure how to reflash the ASUS image so that I might start completely over, though I don't know why I'd want to. Any ideas?
I was having the same issue and this worked for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672108&page=76&nocache=1. its a couple of post down.
Sounds like you flashed a recovery with -JB at the end instead of -42. The -JB recoveries are for the 4.1 bootloader (OTA version 10.4.x). You are on the 4.2 bootloader (OTA version 10.6.x). ASUS changed a bunch of important filesystem stuff in the 4.2 bootloader. When you flashed the 4.1 recovery, it erased all your device nodes (the file representation of the hardware on the system, specifically where each filesystem partition resides), so as far as your recovery is concerned, you don't have any internal storage. That's why it can't open anything.
So far, nobody has been able to recover a tablet in this condition.
Also, this is the wrong section. This thread belongs in the Q&A section. It has nothing to do with development.

That doesn't work for most people. Typically, the tablet freezes as soon as fastboot tries to write anything. The correct recovery can never be flashed. Maybe you got lucky. Maybe your situation was slightly different.
Also, the link you posted doesn't seem to lead to a post with any sort of guide. On my phone, in the XDA Premium app, it opens the last page of the TWRP thread, specifically to f69m's most recent post, in which he says that this situation has caused lots of bricks. Ironic, IMO.
sorry bout where the link lead to. it was on the last page explaining what happened. maybe i did get lucky, all i did was the same method for fastboot for the recovery install.
And it worked. Thanks for the head's up. Sorry again for choosing the wrong forum.
I didn't use the link. I just reflashed the 42 twrp using fastboot and it worked.
Glad it worked for you.... maybe 2 of us got lucky lol

Other than one poor soul being told that his tablet might be bricked, there is nothing on that page dealing with the OP's problem. The other posts are about flashing a -42 recovery on the 10.6.1.8 OTA and having to update to the 10.6.1.15.3 OTA to fix it.
Edit: it seems like I'm trying to argue something. I'm not. I'm just confused about exactly where the link should have gone.
Also, maybe the fact that you and the OP are on the newest OTA made a difference. Almost everybody I've seen with that problem did it on the first 4.2 OTA. Maybe ASUS fixed something in the newest updates. The newest updates fixed custom recoveries in general, so it could have had other fixes, like for fastboot.
The real question now, is it safe to use custom ROM's on top of this 4.2.2 JB? I suddenly am worried about messing with it...

As long as you pay attention to which recovery you're using, there shouldn't be a big problem. That is, if you're positive that the fix worked. Have you made any backups or tried wiping cache/Dalvik? The recovery no longer gives you "can't mount" errors?
If it seems to be working properly, flashing ROMs shouldn't be an issue, but I don't blame you for being cautious. If in doubt, just stick to the stock ROM.
Right, I'm in business. I already used it to flash superuser, and then verified that I have root. Everything seems to be in order.
I'd been using 10.6.1.15.3, so maybe that's why this worked.
Same thing happened to me. It ended up being that i was on the older OS. I followed this thread to the T

Hi!
Also, here has been described the same situation, in the simplest way possible !
Good luck !
I don't have fastboot or adb available to use, am I out of luck?
Mine just boots into twrp every time. Cannot mount anything. No recovery available on boot. I just get the unlocked message in the top left corner on boot. I can't even stop the boot using the volume buttons. How can I get fastboot/adb back?
Hmmmm....

Two folks who "got lucky." Interesting.

Hello, I seem to have soft bricked my tf700.
I flashed a newish pacman nightly in CWM (after wiping data/cache/dalvik cache), which completed with no errors, then I flashed the corresponding GAPPS. But my device became stuck in the pacman boot intro.
So I tried flashing slimkat which led to my device not getting past the first bootup screen (where you can enter recovery if pressing the corresponding buttons).
After this screw-up I stupidly hit the wipe data button on the bootloader. I then tried doing the method of using fastboot to erase system, cache, and all that so I could flash system blob of the newest asus US SKU (that is correct for a US bought tf700 right?). Either this or wiping the data caused me to have a different bootloader as pictured below as I no longer have the android button and it does not ask me to press volume up to access recovery (the only way to access recovery is by hitting the wipe data button in bootloader).
I can still fastboot flash CWM, but trying to flash TWRP does not work as it finishes but going into recovery causes the tablet to just restart. Trying to flash asus stock as above would always give me an error like the one pictured below. Similar errors occur if trying to flash any rom inside CWM via an external sd card.
I do not have access to adb as i believe i dont have usb debugging enabled since the pacman rom or any other rom did not ever start. It just gives me the device not found error even after manually installing the drivers on two different computers.
Cant seem to get these pics to load, but copying the url and pasting it works.

You probably flashed the wrong Rom. Try flashing the >right< stock Rom and go from there. Double check everything you flash.

Whats the "right" rom here? Talking about the original asus stock rom? I have now tried the the pacman nightly, pacman release, slim kat release, clean rom release, an ICS asus stock rom, and two different versions of the jellybean asus stock rom. These were either done in CWM via internal sd card, external sd card, or done through fastboost flash system blob and flash zip.

As far as i know, i have installed the stock rom, or atleast multiple versions of it with no success as it gives me an error stating something like staging or system when trying to write it.

Hmm, I'd Download a stock Rom for the device offline, take on the sd card and put it on there real quick and try to flash that, if not, you probably bricked your device. I wouldn't know how to fix it beyond that. Ask the dev that made the Rom were everything that went south and an email to cwm wouldn't hurt either
I am also not sure if I need to have my external sd card formatted a certain way or download a specific CWM to allow flashing the stock rom. Ive spent over 10 hours trying to figure this out, very frustrating.
I have run CWM 6.0.4.6, CWM 6.0.4.7, and older versions to see if I could flash the stock rom with no luck. I have also tried different versions of TWRP but they always hang and reboot my tf700. I get errors ranging from status 6, status 7, cannot mount data, cannot mount staging, and cannot mount system. I am completely lost on what I can do. I have even tried a seperate sdcard to see if maybe the one I was originally using was bad with no luck. GG :/

You gotta stop flashing stuff and slow down!
During all of this you never posted your bootloader version, so you may have been on the wrong bootloader to begin with - who knows.
When you hit the Wipe Data in the bootloader menu you caused the BL do write a wipe data command to the misc partition, causing the tablet to boot to recovery each time you booted (I'm guessing here) and then interrupting it. Usually, with CWM installed, it eventually sorts it out and executes the wipe data command, but that takes hours! You just have to leave it alone.
Hard to tell where you are now since you flashed all kinds of stuff since then.
Can you still boot into the bootloader and have a fastboot connection?
What's the BL version number?
If you boot, what does it boot into?
The picture links are broken - at least in Tapatalk. Post them again?

Yes, the pictures are broken. You can still copy paste the url though. Couldnt figure out why it wouldnt work.
The tablet boots into the first screen that states it is unlocked, but does not go any further.
There is no bootloader version on the top left when holding down power + volume down.
I can still get to the place where it allows me to wipe data or fastboot, but the android icon to boot into android is now gone.
adb does not recognize my device even after manually installing the drivers, but fastboot works fine.
Is there any other way to find my bootloader version?

Maybe you want to edit your post with the urls then.... Makes it easier for people trying to help...
You're seriously messed up, I think. I see a USB icon in there which would indicate that your bootloader is ancient. But then it says: "starting USB fastboot protocol".
Is that after you selected the USB icon?
Anyway, I think you're only chance is buster99's method to get it back. Did you try that already?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44244313&postcount=12
Naturally you have to extract the system blob from the 10.6.1.14.10 US Asus firmware, but then you can try to fastboot flash it with buster's method.
Good luck!

I'm afraid you flashed something totally incompatible with your tablet...
You did not generate your nvflash blobs sometime prior to this, did you?

Right stop flashing random stuff - you have combinations of JB4.2.1, JB4.1.1 and ICS 4.0.3 just listed there.
Let me put a call out to @lj50036 who may be able to save you but if you have messed the bootloader up with no nvflash backups you are not going to be happy with the result. If you can still get to the bootloader screen then he can perform miraculous superhero acts and *maybe* save your device.

Hi there,
A while ago I got a OnePlus One which came with ColorOS loaded. I of course googled my way to get the Cyanogenmod and followed these instructions.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDKOEtN9pbo
I'm currently on the 25R firmware and I know there are some updates after that but the phone doesnt detect any update release. I would like to know why the OTA updates are not being picked up from the phone. Was it simply the easy method mentioned above?
I also thought of reflashing it properly and found some instructions on the web.
Code:
Install Android tools (and drivers if you use Windows-crap). You need the fastboot and adb tools
Get http://dist01.slc.cy...ed-fastboot.zip and unpack it
Enable USB debugging on the phone
Run adb reboot-bootloader
Once bootloader started run: fastboot oem unlock
After automatic reboot, do steps 3 & 4 again
In the directory where you unpacked it, run in a console
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.mbn
fastboot flash dbi sdi.mbn
fastboot flash aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn
fastboot flash rpm rpm.mbn
fastboot flash tz tz.mbn
fastboot flash LOGO logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata_64g.img (or userdata.img for 16G version)
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot
These instructions will somehow get the OTA updates working, am I right to assume that this method would rewrite everything and I would lose the recovery software of the ColorOS? Also are the Android tools these?
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Fastboot and ADB, I can use this one right?

Hi scabbie, from the looks of the file its an incremental update. Do I just run it from the OPO with Cyanogenmod? If this is a long tedious method, I would rather do a fresh install and get the OTA updates to work. Also part of the reason I want a clean install is because the phone is acting up and my screen goes black when I call someone and then when I want to hang up the screen is still black and I cant hang up. and physical buttons dont respond either.
I dont know if this incremental update will fix this kind of problem, so hence my option to do some clean install.
Cheers

Love the guide you put up, I was having a read through this and I'm slightly confused on your comments. http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...-to-guides-t2839471/post56731494#post56731494
You mentioned just go straight to Section 8, but in the link above you mentioned go through 1-4 then go to 8. I dont think I need to root on section 4 but for 1, 2 and 3, I would like to know, particularly in section 2 and 3 if you can explain to a novice like me. As I'm understanding this, I think the ColorOS phone has some recovery software, thats how I did the easy flashing method thing, so for section 2 your instructions will overwrite the ColorOS one?
For Section 3 the nandroid backup seems like a snapshot of the phone (which includes recovery, phone OS and other things) before installing custom rom?
Please let me know if my interpretation is correct and correct me along the way, I am here to learn what I can, so that I can successfully flash the OPO phone.

I was assuming that because you're on the 25R build of CM11S that you've already unlocked your bootloader and installed TWRP recovery, if this isn't the case then you will need to follow sections 1, 2, and 3 before moving on to section 8.
The phone definitely already has some kind of recovery on it (every phone does), but you do need to install a custom recovery in order to make a backup of your current ROM. It will overwrite the existing recovery when you install it, and then later on when you flash the fastboot images (in section 8) the stock recovery will overwrite the custom recovery. So why bother flashing the custom recovery if it'll just be overwritten? Because insurance. It'll allow you to make a nandroid backup of your current setup to fall back on just in case something goes wrong.
A nandroid is like a snapshot of the phone, but it doesn't include your recovery partition, it includes the /system partition (where the os resides), the /data partition (where your apps and settings reside), and the /boot partition (the kernel). You should always have at least one nandroid on your phone at all times. Personally, I make one before I flash anything, that way if I don't like whatever I'm flashing or if something goes wrong, I can just restore my backup and boot the phone up, and it's exactly how I left it.
After you've made your backup make sure you transfer it to your PC (and anything else important on the phone), because flashing the fastboot images is going to wipe your whole phone, including all of your user data.
If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

I see, so even if my phone doesnt have much inside it should still be recommended, because of the listed above are operational and if something were to happen on the newly flashed phone, I have no way of retracing my steps.
So in a hypothetical situation I unlocked the bootloader and proceed to section 2. The recovery software provided when I first got the phone will be overwritten by the TWRP recovery and I will have lost the old one. I will then perform a nandroid backup where I can preserve a last known working configuration as an insurance, if future flashes fail. I assume you restore nandroid backup through the TWRP recovery? Also the nandroid backup is made on the phone? so I will need to transfer that to my PC before flashing?
At this stage all I changed is the bootloader and recovery partition with custom recovery. When I jump to section 8 it should be smooth sailing, provided I follow them clearly and the drivers work on the PC.
I apologise for being a pain in the butt! I just like to clarify before I do something horrible and have no idea what to do next.

You do indeed restore a nandroid backup with the recovery that you made the backup with. And yes it is saved on the phone so you will need to transfer it to your PC. You're not being a pain in the butt, you're doing the right thing and researching before attempting something.
Transmitted via Bacon
Yeah I agree users like you that research crap before attempting something are much preferred over users that blindly use a toolbox then come complaining cuz they messed something up but dunno how to fix it. I always do my research before flashing just like you are doing. Just make sure you install the drivers I linked to computer wide on your windows computer and you should have no problems, no need to install separate SDK for android and copy the files you're flashing into a special folder, etc

If you follow timmaaa's guide you should be good to go. I'm a noob myself and just did it over the weekend and its a blast. Good luck
Cheers

Hi Everyone!
Because of having issues i can´t fix on my OnePlus, i´m finally asking for some professional help here, as it´s getting more and more complicated and i don´t want to ruin my phone.
What was my plan?
Installing CM11S 44S on my OPO, which had the 05Q Version as factory setting.
Also i wanted to install a franco kernel.
I hoped, if i do both steps successfully, my OPO will have a good battery life (44S seemed to be the most efficient version, according to some forums).
What did i do so far?
First i set up an adb backup for my data, but not for the OS. However, i installed SDK plus tools and drivers.
Next step was installing a new recovery, which is able to flash a new version of CM11S, so i set up TWRP with fastboot, which means my device is "unlocked" now.
Everything worked well so far, i also made an backup in TWRP.
The problem:
I wanted to reboot my OPO at some point and TWRP asked me for rooting my device. Accidentally i swiped over so it started rooting process, but i didn´t want to root it, so i immediately shut the device down.
By now TWRP recovery/fastboot is working, but my OS 05Q is lost and i can´t install a new ROM because im getting the Report:
--
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check; no MD5 file found
Error flashing zip /<path to .zip file>
--
Can anyone help me to get 05Q back or the 44S with the franco kernel?
I know there might be some other threads that deal with similar problems, but actually none of them helped me so far. For example: do i need a fastboot image or signed flashable zips (which i have)? In which order do i install the kernel and the ROM?
Some Information:
I can access my device via fastboot and my OPO is also shown as a adb device on my MAC.
When starting in TWRP, i can also access the device in USB Mode, transfering files is also possible.
I´m not really competent with android modding or programming, so i will need some noob-friendly answers, but i bet you guys know how to help me out here.
Thank you very much for your help, i really don´t know what to do anymore.
EDIT:
I found out how to place a md5 file to the referring version, but it still sais: MD5 does not match.
I´m so done with it right now that i wish i had my OPO back as it was few days ago.
Well, i cant really help here as i have not face this problem but ur mistake was that u Immediately shut the device down the moment it was installing root. It may have corrupted the partitions of the phone and left it at that state, so maybe restoring the partitions of that section may help. Like i said im not knowledgeable about this
Agreed, you shouldn't have shut down the phone while it was modifying a partition. The root wouldn't have mattered anyway because you were about to overwrite the system partition by flashing a ROM. Go to my guide thread and look at section 8 to flash the stock images for the build you desire:

Yes you can still use fastboot on a Mac, but you'll need to Google how to set it up on a Mac first.
