[Q] Peregrine or XT1032 - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've unlocked the bootloader and rooted my (supposed to be) Motorola Moto G LTE 8GB - it has an microSD-Slot.
Now I wanted to install the Cyanogenmod 11, but the installation fails with following comment:
This package is for "peregrine " devices; this is a "xt1032".
What is it now? I have not used LTE so far, but as I am informed, there is no xt1032 with microSD-Slot. What should I do?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,

You are using a recovery that is for falcon(xt1032). Download and install one of the recoveries for Peregrine from the LTE Development forum.

Falcon(non LTE) roms, recoveries, etc. won't work on the Peregrine(LTE).
Head over to Moto G 4G Android Development.
I chose CWM 6.0.5.0. - worked well.

[Q] CM 11 for the Moto G [XT1033 / Dual SIM]

Perhaps a separate development thread should be created for Moto G XT1033 / Dual SIM.
Can some one report back the success/failure of using the Unofficial CM 11 ROM, here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608377 , for it ? (All credit to dhacker29 and his team !) This is the only ROM which has some form of support for the XT-1033 but user feddback is minimal. For someone contemplating on buying this device, it would be helpful to know from existing users of this ROM on the Dual SIM variant of the Moto G.
CyanogenMod currently doesn't support Dual SIM configurations but going by posts here and there such as, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2631777 , it seems it's possible to upgrade to KitKat minus the functionality of the second SIM, rendering it a Single SIM...
Will CyanogenMod / developer support eventually extend to XT1033 as well ? Or will users have to contend with limited functionality such as Single SIM etc ? There seems to a large developer base for the other variants, maybe, we could have better solution.
This ROM doesn't work for me - no signal even with flashing the modem they said to flash in the first post.

Hi, I want to buy a Moto G but I have a problem: what is the right version that support all listed rom in android devevelopment?
The xt1031, the xt1032, the xt1033, the xt1034 or the xt1035? Which on of them has the codename "falcon"?

Best option for timely official updates is XT1032 Google Play Edition (GPe). But not all custom ROMs are compatible with GPe (as seen with the current 5.0.x custom ROMs).
If only "all custom ROMs supported" is the concern, then any (non-GPe) XT1032 will do. Like US-Retail, UK-Retail, European, Brazilian, Argentinian, etc.
(Actually, all XT1032 are inter-convertible.)
falcon is the name for all 1st gen moto g, XT1028 to XT1034. But actually, its the XT1032 on which custom ROMs are built.. Only later they are made compatible with other versions. So, we can assume falcon to be XT1032.
Also, I've noticed that US-Retail XT1032 (also the one I own) gets the official updates from Motorola (not talking about "Soak Tests") , a little bit earlier than other regions.
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Free.

[Q] Original Stock Rom for Verizon Moto G XT1028PP... IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED

Hi. I am in really desperate need of some help. I have a Verizon Moto G XT1028PP. I am in need of the original stock rom. This particular phone is from the earlier batch that was released with Android 4.4.2. I have tried several roms but errors show up when flashing the gpt.bin and especially the motoboot.img One of those roms was the CFC Falcon 4.4
2. Any and all help is appreciated. I am looking forward to hearing from someone real soon.
XT1028 Stock ROMs are available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688
Latest version of TWRP recommended: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/recovery-twrp-2-8-2-0-touch-recovery-t2980621
Where can I download Verizon Lollipop ROM for Motog G1?
There is a lot of buzz about 5.0.1 being released in the US for all Moto g phones OTA but how do I manually get this release? I am on Page Plus with a modified Boost Mobile phone and I am not getting the update ota. Has the Lollipop version for CDMA services been released, where?
cchriscollins-
I am in the same situation with same device on PP. I am rooted on 4.4.4. Motorola site still says coming soon.

I am happy with 4.4.4 on the Moto G and just ok with 5.2 on a rooted 1st gen Nexus 7. It has to be restarted every day or so b/c of memory leaks and lagging.

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
Yeah if you're flashing a custom ROM you need to wipe data.
For custom ROMs you can have a look here :

Moto G 1st gen XT1032 to Android 8 or 7

Hey, I've got a Moto G 1st Gen 8GB (no idea what the XT number is) with Android 7.1 via AospExtended-v4.4-OFFICIAL - bought it like this. Now I've got another Moto G 1st Gen, this time 16 GB XT1032, which runs Android 5.1 and I would like to somehow get the newest version of Android possible on this one. At least the same AospExtended version as it's on my first Moto G. Would you guys be willing to give me instructions for dummies for that? That'd be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i need the same!
a suggestion about the best compatible (with all working, camera, 3g, etc...) modded rom and instruction (for idiots) to install on a moto g 5.1 android stock!
please help us, we are 2 little noobs, lol!
well there is some remarkable progress in the few android 8 ROm development. however it is still under development and not all areas are as stable as most of the already stable android 7 ROMs. so if you dont mind frequently patching bugs, then go for android 8 ROMs. if you want stable install and forget worrying ROM then choose a android 7 nougat ROM.
the way to install custom ROM is as follows;
1) you need motorola drivers downloaded.
2) fastboot/adb platform tools downloaded
3) unlock bootloader, by following instructions in motorola site
4) install latest TWRP custom recovery
5) flash ROM of your choice
detailed steps are quiet difficult to ensemble, but you get all the info you need under general forum; https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general
