[APP] [HOW TO] [ROOT] Vodafone Wallet with rooted devices - Android Apps and Games

Hi Vodafone users,
you have already noticed that the new payment app Vodafone Wallet do not work with rooted devices. It asks for su support and has a FC.
Here my easy instruction that let it work with root.
You only need to set in shell blocking su with the xposed module xprivacy (full version).
Kind regards
Peterle

Please help me, i try your instruccions and always Fc, clase force., if you up a images of proccesing i Will very happy with you.
A lot of thanks for your time

The thing is that it work only for a few minutes. U only need to set blocking su in shell.
When it FC you must give the app all rights and open it with the root warning then block su and open it again.
It is not a stable solution but it works.
Regards Peterle

There's a Cydia variant, too.. Instead of the Xposed Variant you could try this. Heard it works better for a lot of apps.

Yep. But try to open one time without blocking su and after that with blocking su. It's still working then for a few minutes.
Edit. And u have to close it via task manager each time.

But reinstalling the app doesn't change anything.

I'm using an LG G3 rooted, I used rootCloak, added vodafone wallet to the list of apps, and after force stopping the wallet and starting it again it worked flawlessly.

Did you alo install SElinux Mode Changer and Cydia Substrate as described in the rootcloak instructions?
I want to give it a try and I am not sure if I really have to install all three packages.

Did you try calling costumer service? I got that message before using rootcloak, but after that it just worked. I would bet it's the sim that is not working properly.

ISIS on Rooted Devices?

So until/if we are able to get Google Wallet working, we are stuck with Isis. Just installed on my new Droid Max's but getting "This phone has been rooted" error.
Anyone have a workaround to get Isis working on a rooted Maxx/Ultra/Moto X?
***SOLVED / EDIT***
Got this working, please don't thank me as I just compiled other people's work!

the one I posted? It gives you the option to customize if you're on GB, JB, and also an AOSP function, along with what carrier, then when installing it asks for root, reboots, and then you have the Google Wallet app next to it afterwards.

Does not prompt, just detect somehow. I thought I had solved the problem by going into SU and click "Temp Unroot", then was able to continue with Isis setup and put all my CC's in. Went back into SU, unchecked "Temp Unroot", however my root got messed up and had to re-root. Once re-rooted, Isis went back to giving me the same error message :/
Any other workarounds?

Been using ISIS for a few days now in NYC and love it. Every cab has a sensor for NFC and luckily I have Amex and Chase so can use both of them!
I know people love Google wallet but it seems NFC payments aren't coming on Verizon.
So how do we get ISIS to work and be rooted at the same time!?!?

Got it working, please see OP for details!
Doesn't work for me. Followed instructions to the t. Launch Isis and it asks for root. Hit deny and it force closes after a few seconds. I start it again and it tells me device is rooted.
The new version of the Isis app isn't compatible with this. The dev will need to update the module.
I tinkered around some, and I discovered this solution which is currently working on my MAXX:
Delete ISIS.
Install Xposed.
Install XPrivacy.
Reinstall ISIS, but do not run it yet.
There will be a notification to configure ISIS permissions in XPrivacy.
The only thing you need to restrict is Shell (commands, superuser).
Run ISIS. You should be able to log in successfully.
Or. Wait 2-3 weeks for 4.4 and Google Wallet.

This method worked for me, but I had to find the proper xposed module on another thread, Got my old serve account linked up and a google wallet card in the mail too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2425346
Updated the app/module to v2.0, got it working for me.
Isis does the job, but its awkward loading money onto my amex first. I miss GW.

AdAway (Fully working) with tutorial

Root is required for this application. Thanks to DesignGears & Chainfire for putting in the work for root to be on our phones.
Please try method 1 and 2 before posting that it doesn't work. Let me know which one worked for you in the comments.
_________________________________
Method 1 :
Download FDroid from this link - https://f-droid.org/FDroid.apk
Open FDroid and download AdAway.
Some have reported that this AdAway will install the host file without any issues.
_________________________________
Method 2 :
Download AdAway here - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23060877490004670
(All credit for the link goes to mrRobinson)
After you have installed and opened the app -
Click "Download files and apply ad blocking"
The app is going to crash, don't worry!
Re-open the application and click "Download files and apply ad blocking" again
This time it will give you a pop up saying "Copying of host file failed", once again don't worry!
Now click the refresh button in the top right, and now for the last time click "Download files and apply ad blocking"
You will now be told that it was successful and to restart.
This is how I got it to work, I apologize if it does not work on your device.
Please click the thanks button if this worked for you.

I tried to get the the app from that website but they want you to download it through a store. And I don't know about others but it hangs on downloading icons or something. So the only way I got the app was from mrRobinson post. According to him its the same app, but he just compiled it from the source from the Devs website.

I downloaded my AdAway from f-Droid, but I've seen the same crash behavior.
After the crash, the download and apply worked on the first try.
(The first time, I had to flash back to stock and re-root. The second time applying AdAway blocking took a couple of tries before it went through (6 more specifically))

Thanks for the feedback. I will update the thread to have both methods shortly
I've found supersu leaving dozens of sudaemon's around which sometimes breaks root entirely (until you reboot) or sometimes you can manage to get su to work and then kill apps.
Adaway seems to potentially be a leading cause of this, or maybe it's just the obvious victim, I'm not sure. But I often find it's complaining it could not apply the hosts file, so I get into a shell, find a bunch of stray sudaemon's, kill them, then it's happy again.
I think there's still some tweaking that can be done for su on 4.3.
All I did was install Fdroid, then
Go into to terminal and type this
su
restorecon -R -v /data/data
Then install adaway and run as normal

Just a quick heads-up. I used FDroid to install AdAway yesterday...no problems, loaded first time and enabled without a hitch. A word to the less experienced Android (Note 3) flashers like myself.
OFF TOPIC Question: What's the best Terminal Emulator to use for someone like me, who wants to learn to use a TE?? Your assistance would be most appreciated.

Move both to system/priv-app
Set permissions to rw-r-r (I use root explorer)

Will this work on any firmware version? I did this on another phone in the past and it was just a headache every time a software update came out- you'd need to grab new updated versions of the email and exchange apks (if someone had made them).

So shortly: Install Xposed Framewerk and install "Lockscreen Disabler" module.

I know for sure that was an app in play store that was fooling some other apps you have root (so the other way around). It could be that a similar app exists. Have you tried for ex an xposed module that block some rights of apps? Xposed works at system level so it could do the job...

I'm not sure, which "xposed" app you proposed - there are few of them in the play store.. nevertheless, I tried to use some simple methods, like remove su & busybox from the /system/xbin - unfortunately it didnt work.. any other sug's? in a worst scenario, I'll buy another used HOS, but I don't really want to do that..
update:
I tried things like:
RootCloak
SuperSu - Full unroot
no success..
update2:
lest take it from the other side..
let's say I wanted to have my dev rooted only to change the ROM.. I already installed my new ROM and I don't really need the root anymore.. what should I do to un-root my dev without going back to stock ROM? I don't really know what this MaaS360 is checking to find the dev. rooted.. (well, maybe google knows, I'll check in the meantime)
solution found... ;>
the helpful soft is....: RootCloak Plus!
and this is the whole procedure I made...
0) I installed and tried to run MaaS360 - this will allow you to add proper app to RootCloak in next steps
1) I run the SuperSu and used the "Full unroot" option - it will remove su and busybox from the /system/xbin
2) I downloaded and installed RootCloak
3) I added from the list following app: com.fiberlink.maas360.android.control
4) I removed MaaS360 completely - first stop the app in options, then remove from apps
5) I restarted the dev
6) I run the RootCloak to check if my added app is still added ;>
7) I downloaded and installed the MaaS360 again
8) After giving my credentials, the app configured its desktop and works just fine...
I'm just wondering if I can reinstall back SuperSu (because RootCloak should prevent MaaS360 from recognize my dev as rooted), but I don't actually need SuperSu right now, so I'll just enjoy my corpo apps on my phone..
In case of questions, please let me know
Thanks for all help and directions!

Don't suppose you have a second phone to play with? Because you can login on that while derooted, then root it and titanium backup the app, which you can restore on any rooted device and it'll be logged in.

Installed parallel space and thereafter Snapchat. That made snapchat appear in parallel space (could add it to the ps app drawer). From within ps I started snapchat and registered my device.
If this doesn't work, I don't have a solution, sorry.
