is the developers options supposed to be set on the ON postion?? i have never messed with any of my devices developer options nor i intended to...
I'm pretty sure mine started in the OFF position. Also I'm pretty sure the developer's options are hidden by default unless you deliberately went to About and enabled it.

I know it's a bit of a noobish question but I'm curious about the accessibility options.
I've always ignored the options cause it's always been grayed out and said that I needed to download the extra components from the market. Well going through the options recently I've noticed that there are now 2 apps under the accessibility settings (tasker and noled)
I just want to know what exactly they are there for and if I check one of them how will that effect my phone.

Hi Guys,
I've recently updated my Rogers HOX to Android 4.1 via the OTA system update. during that process, I inadvertently left some developer options enabled which have caused them to be enabled even when all developer options are disabled (via the main toggle).
does anyone know how to "reset" the defaults so that when I leave the developer options off, it will keep all developer options disabled?
The two options in particular are:
Show touches
Pointer location
thanks,

The main toggle is only for allowing access to the dev options, it doesn't turn them all off. You would have to reenable access to them and then turn them off manually.
Yeah... I tried that. Even with those two options disabled, once I flick the master toggle off, the two settings turn on again.
Why not just leave the developer options on? It doesn't hurt anything

Yeah, that's what I've done for now. Its just a nitpicky thing for me and I'm new to android so I thought a change like this would be possible somehow.
I accidentally hit the switch at the top of the developers options screen and switched it off. When I switched it back on, all the individual options switched off. Could someone here (on a verizon snapdragon of it matters) let me know which developer options are switched on by default, I can make sure I have restored my prior settings.
I'm on T-Mobile but the only one that is on is "Use legacy DHCP client". I'm not sure why though since I'd think we would want to use the latest.
From what can tell despite being enabled, I can no longer see developer options in settings. I'm assuming this happened after I rooted, because I had been in the setting before. I tried a few searches but they were all related to how to enable developer option.
You may need to re-enable the developer options again by clicking the "Build" number a bunch of time in the "about" section of settings, then developer options should re-appear in settings.

ok, yea that was the first thing i did when I was unable to locate it. I even searched it but nothing came up. What's odd is I kept going back, scrolling through thinking I was missing something...after maybe the 4th time I searched it again, despite it not working previously, but it showed up. So i am able to access it through searching, but I still don't see it in the settings list.
OK,
Might be a dumb question, but you do know that to get to "Developer" options you first need to go into "Settings", then "System", then drop down "Advanced", then scroll down and second from the bottom is "developer options".
If it's not there, then maybe go back into developer options using the search as you stated, then turn off developer options via the slide switch at the top, then re-enable it using the build taps and see if it then adds it back into settings.

wow, wtf. I used developer options already on this phone to enable usb debugging.
I had no issues finding it, I swear it was just in the list with the regular settings, the ones with the color icons next to them....but you're right, it was right where you said it was. Doesn't look familiar at all considering I've already accessed the setting a couple times before.
Thanks man, idk how long it would've taken me to figure that out.
Made changes in "Developers" options and now when i turn on wifi on my galaxy "a12" some apps start installing (not updating) but installing by themselves. WTF??
Any thoughts are appreciated..........Tom
Simply turn off Developers options to undo all changes made.
Thank you!! When I turn developer options back on it will be as it was the first time?
Yes, but you'll need to reactivate it again to use/see it. It goes nuts every now and then... no big deal.
