sd storage 0 mb on TWRP - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted my moto g and installed a custom ROM. As the custom ROM had few bugs, i did a restore of my Stock ROM in TWRP.
Now when i see the TWRP to install another custom ROM, it shows the internal Storage is 0 mb . However when the phone is connected to the computer , i can view all the files there, just in recovery it shows 0 mb.
Any Idea guys?
i am using TWRP v2.6.3.3

Try the latest build '2.8.0.1':
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/xt1032

flashed still no luck... and i am not able to wipe the data as well, it says unable to mount

Odd case. It could be partition corruption. Maybe try Phil's Touch.
Alternatively, you could backup contents of 'internet storage' and fastboot fastboot the latest firmware image for your phone. That would fix any partition issues. Tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
What model do you have?

i have XT1033 dual SIM version.. when i searched the firmware for umtsds i have only 4.3 available for Asia.. (Android 4.3
Blur_Version.14.85.4.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03) however i am right now running 4.4.4... i have one for 4.4.2 which is of Brazil.. any suggestion which one to flash.
I bought this phone in India so i am looking for Asian firmware...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54487261&postcount=332

flashed.. i ll try flashing TWRP again..

thank you guys..it worked..

Then everything did not obviously go 'OKAY.' It would help to see a log of the flashing process. Copy and paste command prompt screen. Take screenshots if necessary.

Unlock Bootloader (if not already done) and flash twrp - mfastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Alternatively you can boot into twrp without flashing: mfastboot boot twrp.img
Download twrp: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/recovery-twrp-2-8-2-0-touch-recovery-t2980621
Then via PC, do the following wipe: (requires working ADB setup - google it)

By BL u mean bootloader? My stock bootloader is 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. I tried to dl the twrp.blob from the twrp website with -4.2 and try to use the terminal emulator thingy but it still boot into CWM based Recovery.
However, I just bought the ROM Toolbox Pro in Google Play and use the 'Flash Recovery' but it search my whole tablet and returns nothing while i have already copy and paste the twrp.blob into the/sdcard/

I plan to root it into a custom rom but ended up installing cwm which I later found out to be incompatible with my device. This is because I thought that everyone need to undergo these three process (root>install recovery>install rom) now I'm trying to remove or replace this cwm with a twrp then I can start installing my custom rom. I have already root my tablet with supersu (kingo). Did I do anything wrong on my steps above? If yes, please enlighten me. Thanks
anyway, what's a super user binary?

Fastboot utility is very sensitive to connection type. It can refuse to work on some laptops and usb ports on front pannel of desktop PC. Also do not use usb hub or tablet dock with fastboot. And if Windows device manager shows tablet as something like "asus bootloader interface" or "asus fastboot interface" (don't remember exact name) is probably shouldn't be a driver issue.

Did You know that to use fastboot tablet should be loaded in fastboot mode? If You connect it in fastboot mode and Windows shows no recognised fastboot or bootloader interface You need a proper driver.
So, you suggest that i need to use a different pc to do the fastboot thing? What are the drivers do i need to install? Where can i download it? Maybe my wind8 64bit professional got some flaw/bug. Thanks for helping. Will try it out when i get back home.

Moto G 3rd gen (XT1540) stuck on bootloader warning screen after SuperSU

I'm trying to root my Moto G 3rd generation. I looked around a bit and started using a guide from a website called "the unlockr" (which I can't link to) and it all seemed to be going well until the very end. I got to Part 5 "Rooting the Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen) Using SuperSU" and everything seemed to be going well, however on reboot it seems to be stuck on the bootloader warning screen. Maybe I'm being impatient but its been sitting there for a while and I fear that I've broken something.
I've read around a bit and a few threads/people in similar situations recommend flashing to a stock rom and starting again but I'm afraid I'll find a way to make things worse.
Did you make a backup before you flashed SuperSU?
Lollipop or marshmallow?
I believe stock marshmallow needs systemless root, google it there is a SuperSU systemless version out there.
If you took a backup first, just restore and try again

No, in my infinite wisdom I didn't take a backup. It seemed so simple before I started I didn't think I'd need it.
I'll look into SuperSU systemless but if I can't get my phone to turn on, how do I load the files to flash it? Can I transfer it using USB debugging or something?
You will most likely need to flash factory image

Before you flash factory image, maybe you could try flashing just stock boot.IMG through fastboot. Or maybe even squid kernel

I tried the command fastboot flash recovery.img and I have the .img in the correct directory on my computer. However, I get the following output.
Code:
unknown partition 'recovery.img'
error: cannot determine image filename for 'recovery.img'
I tried using fastboot boot to temporarily load the .img but all that does is get me to a screen that says "No Command."
EDIT
Whoops, sorry. Realized I should have been using "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" instead. Trying that now.
So I've tried this tutorial that hossman linked to but I still get the "No command" error when I try to go into the recovery menu.
Stuck here again, sorry to be a bother but I'm in over my head.

Asus Zenfone a601cg not removing twrp recovery

Hello,
earlier i have unlock my device & installed twrp 2.8.6.0., but now when I am trying to install firmware recovery by fastboot flash recovery filename.img writing is successful but after starting the recovery mode phone starts into twrp recovery.
Why i want to remove twrp??? because its not running adb sideload & pc is also not able to detect the device is sideload option
First of all, why do you need to run adb sideload? In twrp, you can use adb push instead and push the files to /sdcard and flash from there. Second of all, did you get that recovery from your stock rom?

But After seeing your github site it seems you are a developer. So you can work on it after your exams and if possible edit OP and add TWRP template .
On the TWRP page it says-
"Power off device.
Pick up your phone and press power button and volume up key at same time. It will boot into TWRP.
Format Data.
Flash Magisk and Data decryption patch and reboot your device.
Done"
My question is - can i just flash TWRP and then flash Magisk to get root without wiping data?
i unlocked the bootloader few days back and did complete setup of my phone 2nd time, so i dont want to format again... and go through the whole process.
Any help is appreciated.

I did the exact same method as mentioned in this thread, but twrp isn't reading the microSD slot. It gives 0 MB as size of microSD and I can't select it. Also, it seems to me that twrp starts from the beginning everytime I boot to recovery as I'm getting the 'Allow modifications to system partion' in every boot. Can someone please help?
My microSD is FAT32 format, and its contents aren't encrypted. I'm able to read the contents of it in PC and in my phone, but not in recovery.

Yes, you can flash twrp and take whole system backup without root. You need to unlock bootloader for flashing recovery if you haven't unlocked yet.
Procedure is simple.
1 setup adb and fastboot drivers in your pc.
2. power off your device and hold volume down and power button simultaneously to boot device in fastboot mode.
3. Press shift+right click and select open command window here in a folder where you saved twrp.img
4. Type "fastboot devices" without quotes and enter.
5. type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and press enter then recovery gets flashed.
5. Type "fastboot reboot recovery" to boot into recovery mode.

I followed this step:
Download latest firmware of realme from here
https://www.realme.com/in/support/software-update
I downloaded stock recovery here
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603903159
Then flashed this recovery from adb, then boot to recovery, find the firmware on ur sd card and then flash it.
