Hello, This may seem like a nooby question but i'd just like to ask how would i flash this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/development/rom-evolution-t2824883 The developer provided no steps, How would i flash this Do i need to revert to anything or any of that
Here's How..
If you're running on a custom ROM, (do a backup first) it is highly recommended to flash the ICS firmware (11.0.A.7.5), since you stand the risk of losing baseband.
After that, follow the general steps to install a rom:
1> Place .zip file on SD card
2> Flash a recovery through FastBoot mode
3> Do a Wipe Data/Factory Reset, followed by wiping Cache and then Advanced--> Wipe Dalvik Cache
4> Install the .zip file
5> Do the Factory Reset & Wiping Caches again, if you wish
6> Reboot.
Good day!
Please hit Thanks if it helped!

Hi guys. Now it seems i am stuck here.As the title says i can't flash a rom completly..because of me or because of the recovery idk....
What i do to flash a rom?Simple:Click on Wipe 'em all then i flash the rom i want.Every install ends too quickly. So when i click info (to check all my partitions everything is untouched but system has more than 260 mb free.I don't want to revert to stock so pls help me.
P.S. I have 4 ext recovery touch (latest) and a ext4 filesystem.
I had to read this a couple of times to try and understand,
however,
If in the event that a rom isn't flashing correctly, then its assumed that you aren't formatting or wiping the phone/device correctly.
I use clockworkmod recovery, however formatting these things on a clean new installs works for me every time.
Wipe data factory reset
wipe dalvik cache
wipe data
wipe cache
If you do not wipe these things you will effectively be flashing over the top of an existing rom.
For instance you wouldn't re-install Windows without formatting the drive. Its the same principle.
I hope that helps in some way.
try in this way http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257731.
what rom do you want to flash?
So I've unlocked the bootloader, rooted and flashed CWM.
I've also made a backup with titaniumbackup.
How do I go about installing a ROM? I'm confused because I read in some places that you need to wipe cache (davik? What is this?) then wipe everything else on the current ROM, then install the custom ROM, but do I do this through CMD or natively on the Nexus 7 with ROM manager?
What are the steps to do this properly?
Try this, questions just ask
You need a recovery first like 4ext you put that on then you copy the ROM onto the sd from your PC and enter into recovery then you install the zip file and factory reset in the same place wipe cash and that other cache you mentioned keep forgetting name of it

Check on the steps mentioned by Chinmay in the development section - they are pretty straight forward, else just google up!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844062
-First you need to root your cell by flashing cf-root for your firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331253
-then download the latest RemICS ROM and put in the roots of memory card
-put your phone in recovery mode by pressing the "volume down + HOME + power"
-once cell goes in recovery mode Do a factory reset/data wipe
-then select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose RemICS ROM
-after flashing this rom "wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (by going in advance)" from recovery
-then select reboot system now
I see you are a newbie, i'll help you.
You first need to flash XXKPE, from XXKPE you need to flash DDLF2, and when DDLF2 is flashed, you need to flash CF-ROOT for DDLF2.
Let the phone boot and go to CWM icon, press it and wait till it loads, press Reboot to CWM recovery (something like that) and when it is rebooted wipe data factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and install the Remics Rom and reboot and thats it.
If u want to flash ADDONS just reboot recovery and flash ADDONS no need to wipe anything.
Good luck.
where is external sd card folder in remics rom?

I've seen and tried to follow the steps in your post in the dev forums, but I lack the XXKPE step! Lol. I have RemICS 1.7 now on DXKP7, but I'm experiencing problems with battery drain, so I want to switch to DDLF2. I'll just outline the steps that you have already mentioned so I can be sure:
1. Flash XXKPE, download from here (post by kkrraazzyy).
2. Flash DDLF2 (don't know how to,but you can download from the same link in step 1)
3. Flash CF-ROOT ([please insert forum link here for download and instructions])
4. Let the phone boot
5. Reboot to recovery
6. Perform factory reset
7. Wipe cache and Dalvic cache
8. Install RemICS ROM
Sorry, noob here. Many thanks!
display
my display is draining 44% battery please suggest me some display settings
To all noobs above, all your questions are already answered millions of times, do a simple search and you will find the answers.
The very first ROM I tried to flash was a version of CarbonRom. I was unsuccessful, as i got the installation aborted message. I then tried a couple of other lesser know ones, with the same luck. Lastly I tried CM 10.1, and with that, i had success. It was the only one that would work so far. Yesterday, I downloaded DU 4.2.2, and A new nightly version of Carbon (Specifically for my phone) With no luck of installation. Am i doing something wrong with these? Is there a different method of flashing i'm missing?
what is the procedure you take to install?
I usually go this route:
1) Boot into whatever recovery you have
2) Wipe Cache/Davlik
3) Install custom ROM
4) run a factory reset
5) Reboot

I have Philz custom recovery which based on cwm version 6.0.3.7 which when you tap wipe data you will then have the option to clean install for new ROM.

well we now have 3 custom recoveries to choose from I like the newer one since I can install a new ROM in fewer steps.
i would do a factory reset after you flash your rom too, can't hurt.
of course on updating the same ROM, I only Wipe Cache/Davlik and that's it.
Bad download? Does the md5 match?
after making sure you wiped everything make sure the download itself was proper I am running it flawless right now
Hello guys,
after attempting to install a custom rom in my S5670B I got stuck in CWM every single time I try to reboot the phone. I doesn't matters what I try, it will always boot into recovery.

1. boot into recovery
2. wipe data/cache
3. wipe dalvik
4. format /system
5. install from zip
6. wipe dalvik

If you are using CWM6 there is known bug that causes this. Just revert to CWM5.
If not just wipe everything (EXECPT SDCARD) and flash again
If that is no go then flash stock rom via odin, flash CWM5 and then flash custom rom.
