AT&T offering data plan doubling for free, Short time only and unannounced. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

Please ready the fowling message, which AT&T has not made public.
For a short period we are being offered a nice boost for data plans, but you need request it. Double your data for free. I did this today without issue.
I was actually on the 10gb plan mentioned in the article. I bumped my plan to 15gb for $30 more (total $130/month) but in doing so, my data jumped to 30gb. It turns out to be roughly $4.5/gb(w/ tax).
The crazy thing is, a 1gb plan cost $25 +tax...
It's a good deal folks and the ability to double will only last until the end of October.

Price Changes
Old Price New
10 GB $100 10 GB
15 GB $130 30 GB
20 GB $150 40 GB
30 GB $225 60 GB
40 GB $300 80 GB
50 GB $375 100 GB

These prices don't include the line price, which is $40 extra per line? So that 15gb plan would cost you, for two lines, 210 a month? Correct me if I misunderstood that.

That's correct, if you are/have upgraded your device w/ AT&T.
In your case though, you own the OnePlus One, therefore the line is only $15. If you purchase your device outside of AT&T, your 2 lines would be $15 each. This brings your monthly to $160 for 30gb.

Thanks so much for posting this! I called and went from 15gb plan to 30gb plan in 3 minutes without costing me a penny! I'm so happy!

I don't think you need to call in to do this. I logged into my account and I was able to upgrade from there.

At&t next costs a little more, yes, but you are not locked into a two year contract which is neat. As soon as you pay off your phone, you can get a new phone whenever you'd like to instead of missing out on all the great devices that you could possibly get between those two years. I upgraded to an s4 because the other phones including the s5 did not seem like much of an upgrade and the note is too big for me. Also it knocks off 25 bucks off your data plan when you upgrade with next, granted the promotion isn't over. On top of getting the double data for free is a great deal.
I found some new awesome information about the next upgrade in the s5 thread

Sorry, I'm realizing how off topic this is

too bad the 10GB plan is excluded from this offer.

I saw a post on the Mac Rumor forum that AT&T is giving people with the 10 GB plan 20GB for the same price. I just called and they were more then happy to give it to me with no questions asked!

And yep, it's $499.99 full price.
Free overnight shipping.
It's on Premier also, for those with corporate deals.
I can't seem to access the premier store tonight. Is the pricing any different?
I'm a little confused. I didn't add any plan to this but I do have an upgrade credit. If I do this am I locked into another two years?

Yes, the $199 price is for new customers with 2 year contract, or upgrade with 2 year extension.

I feel like that should be a lawsuit in the making. Nowhere does it say I would be under contract for another 2 years.

it says "Two-year contract required. Requires purchase of a $15/mo data service." under every smartphone when i go to upgrade. i dunno how it works for premier accounts but i assume its the same case.

You would think that... but not so much in reality.
I was confused about this also. No where on there does it say that I need to do an upgrade until I put the item in my cart, and I'm literally about to check out. I guess I'll just have to go to AT&T this morning and try my luck
data plan is not required for phone ordered through premier i believe
i tried to add the pure a while ago, no data plan needed
On the page with the list of the phones, at the bottom it says view pricing details. Click that and it says:
Your Price
"Your Price" is the optimal price after factoring in contractual (i.e. equipment discount), business and consumer pricing based on a one or two-year service agreement. This price is independent of eligibility requirements.

you had one cute sales person. first off I would call verizon and complain about him about not giving you the right info.
If you look you will see there are 2 data plans. one for the $30 and one for $50.
if you don't want to call verizon and complain ( which I would and would hold out for them to give you something in return) just log in on line and make the change to the $30 plan. you'll be fine

Sounds like you're on a legacy plan, and they'd like you to "upgrade" to one of their current plans. Which plan are you on?

The down side is that you sign a new contract and are locked in for 2 more years.
But on the plus side, at least it doesn't affect your upgrade eligibility. If you're comfortable with T-Mobile's service it might be not be a bad deal for you

I agree. If you're happy with your service, coverage, data speeds, etc, it might not be a bad deal. In my case, I'm long since out of contract, but am extremely disappointed with T-Mobile service where I now live, so upgrading to a current plan and signing a 2-year contract in the process does not appeal to me.

Same number, you'll get all you calls and texts through it from your note 4 line. So if you have AT&T you'll get the watch with them and it just adds on your line.

Yeah, it uses a SIM card so it's a data-enabled device. It can be used stand-alone without being tethered to a phone.

Yes you are eligible for a free galaxy tab A 8.0 , however a $10 a month data plan is required for 2 years. If you cancel the data plan, the tablet cost becomes due.
I got offered it in store when I got my note the other day. Told them no because I have an 8 tablet laying around I don't use. When you have a phone that us almost 6 inches an 8 inch tablet is a waste. Now if it and 10 inch I would do it.
I agree with the phone to tablet thing but my last tablet was a Motorola Xoom so I picked one up for my daughter. Its not a bad deal.

It's loosely based on you current plan. I have and unlimited data plan, so for the $10/month data line I get 5gb/month.
Should be getting mine in tomorrow. They never mentioned it to me in the store. I found out through xda. I figured for $10/month I can figure out a use for it.

So if I bought my device on 9/28, how does this work? Do you have to call and place an order or do I just order it online and hope they give me bill credit? I paid full price for my phone.
I just went in earlier this week, and we were offered a free fourth line for our family plan. since I was jumping from my note 5 32gb to the 64 gb (I ran out of storage lol) we got the tablet for absolutely free, no 10 dollars a month, since the line we added was free. It's not a bad tablet either.

Read the papers you have. You have to be paying for a line. If you are on the mobile on demand you do not receive bill credit for the tablet.
