First off, excuse this if its in the wrong area or if I break any rules, I am new to XDA but have used it for a little research in the past.
Second, I am new to rooting. This is my first time trying it.
Third, I posted in the LinusTechTips forums what the best way to root a Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4G was and the person that responded to me said to check a post on WillHaley.com and I did look at it and he gave me the option to use Kingo as well. Should I use either of these options?
EDIT: I am using Android 4.0.4 and the baseband version is T769UVMB1 with the build number if IMM76D.MB1

I apologize in advance for the noob question; I have been stock on this phone for awhile so I'm lost (ex-EVO here). I successfully rooted my phone two days ago, and now this upgrade popped up. It says it offers the Android 4.0.4 upgrade. Will it affect my root? Or brick my phone?

I am looking for some updated information on the Samsung Fascinate 4G. I received it as a gift, it is unlocked from Telus and running on Rogers, but it doesn't have root. I have checked it with root checker. I have read every post in the forum regarding this phone, and I know it can be done, but the posts are all well over a year old, some of the links don't work, and some of the posts are contradictory. Does Superoneclick root this phone running Gingerbread 2.3.4, Baseband: T959PTLKH2, Kernel: 2.6.35.7-T959PTLKH2-CL455087? Some say yes, others have had problems. I am leery on trying it because I am not 100% sure I can get someone to help me get it back up and running because it is a bit of a lone wolf. I was all set to try Odin, but again I don't want to be stuck with a phone that isn't working and not sure how to get it running again. Can somebody help me figure out how to root this baby. I would love to see the potential. Thanks for your time.

Any way when I get a new phone the first thing I do is root it and get rid of the bloatware, but after 3 weeks searching and following 2 tuts from other sources I managed to softbrick my phone. All is good there and I managed to un-brick the phone both times. My question here, is there any tuts out there that can help me root my phone? I will post the specs below and hopefully someone can direct me to the right info.
Any help is greatly appreciated and If I missed sonething I apologise as I am in the U.S Army and usually very busy. Thanks guys!

First, you should never look at "other sources". XDA is the best and you should have started here
Second, wrong thread. Questions belong in the General section.
Third, if you look there is a [GUIDE][ICS]How to root stock just a few posts down.
Lastly, this phone has never been on 4.0.3 lol. There was a recent baseband update to UVMB1 but it is still 4.0.4 just as UVLH5 was 4.0.4.

A friend of mine romed, and rooted the GS2 for me, but is no longer around to help, or teach me how to finish the project, i am very new at this, but know my way around the PC, Ive tried the very first step (or so i assume) to retrieve the GS2 MSL through Terminal Emulator // Connect Bot with "getprop ril.MSL", the command runs, but doesnt show the needed info. ive been trying to find a way to Flash this Boost over to this Sprint phone for weeks. I recently bought a Samsung Multi Media dock that I finally got to work reliably. I'm not impressed with the experience so I want to flash my phone over to a custom rom so I can tweak settings (and recover from it if I screw it up). I used to have a custom rom on my last phone but since I had to replace it when Cricket nuked their CDMA network I'm stuck with a stock Samsung Galaxy S4, with touchwiz- I hate touchwiz.
My brother kind of held my hand when my phone was first flashed over to CyanogenMod, a more accurate description was that he sabotaged it giving me little reason not to flash a custom image, so I'm still a bit new at this. I've gone threw the forums with the intent of reading up on weather I can and how I should go about flashing my phone. Problem is that I can't find anything that directly relates to the version of the firmware I have and I don't know if its compatible with any of the methods on the table.
I'm rightfully terrified of bricking my phone. I at least want some encouragement of reading about people with a success rate with an identical device before I go off and potentially brick my phone, if I do brick my phone I want it to be completely my fault because I plan on reading every guide and forum thread twice just to make sure I don't miss a nuance of the process.
