I'm glad that you guys like it... I wouldn't mind making it for dynamic Kat the only problem is that I don't really have the time to re invert all the apks and edit all the xml hex's in order for it to look as it should. With this theme I made specifically for Tweaked Rom and will be made for the new Wicked Rom when Evil is done making it. If you haven't tried it it's hands down period end of story the baddest rom that's offered for the note and the baddest rom I've ever used on any phone period. The developer dwitherell is a straight genius and every rom that I have seen they ask him for advice on how to create mods and such. But I understand people get used to using a certain rom for whatever reason but Tweaked Rom is hands down the baddest!

I appreciate it brother.... I was surprised to see when I posted this theme for this variant since I personally use t-mobile but it seems like themes for this variant get no love like people who have att don't really care for themes too much. I say this because the themes that are out for att seem to have like 7 comments. But I guess everyone's diff.. some like just stock Sammy but for me I like my phone to be fully themed. In my themes I pay attention to detail and you will find that I theme some of the littlest things that make the theme stand out from the others.

yeah I hear ya.. unfortunately I use Mega's rom's and there isn't really much option for his other than doing it yourself.. the only theme I found was the one by Sir something and it looks nice..maybe one day im gonna bite the bullet and start learning how to theme for myself

Have you ever tried out Tweaked Rom yet? If not you have to its the baddest rom with the most craziest mods you seen! The dev is a genious. So if you haven't ever flashed it before try it out and then flash this theme and let me know what you think. And if you ever do bite that bullet and start theming you 1st need to know that it is addicting, you will spend every free moment doing it, and your wife/gf will hate you because they don't understand why we spend countless hrs just to change the color of a little icon! Lol. But if you do let me know I'll help you out and get you going

yeah.. im gonna do a flash just to give it a try as i have tried alliance and dynamic before.. Fire was just a better rom then those (in my opinion, tho the others offer a lot and customization etc that fire doesn't, but the speed and battery on it are above all so far...) now this is without trying tweaked.. so gona give it a test to see how i like it.
now one question do have is for your theme, only on TW or will it work on nova as well? I tend to prefer nova over TW... so just curious.
Bubba (one of Mega's old users) started getting into it and put up a guide for theming and several themers are in tehre as well.. haven't read the whole thread yet, so not sure if you are in it as well yet.. but worth a check if you arent as they are putting up stuff and i think even adding some apk's to it for peeps etc pretty decent thread going.. if need, i'll get you link you aren't already in it ..

Yes for Tweaked setup I would just first flash the basic install approach which is a aroma that basically let's you choose every apk and diff crazy ass mods then after its done flashing don't restart just go back and the flash the rom

Under the must read section in op I stated that you need to go into the TSM Parts" which is tweaked rom control" and go into TouchWiz settings and change the sms convo color to red, white, or what ever color you'd like because of the black on black because I don't like white text bubbles

Oh is there a fc issue on att version? If so don't let that detour you away from the rom... When he fixes it which I'm sure he's working on it as I type make sure and try it again because his rom control is out of this world.

He has all the fixes we need ready as flashable zip files. Question is, after flashing those fixes then flash your theme, does it remove or mess with those fixes?
BTW do you have any other mirror beside that mediafire website. It needs a captcha on my phone and it doesn't show that captcha. It just doesn't work. LOL

i love my hero but i love the look of the palm pre as well. i would be willing to donate and i encourage others to donate to the first dev to make a full custom theme for our heros that mimic the pre. i do know i already have obannvi interested and trying to work on it as we speak. anybody else here maybe interested in such a theme? myself im interested in a android home theme but a sense theme would be welcomed too.

once again i'm not sure why the f*ck you think he cares about your opinion, where did Fixxer ask for other people's opinions on what they think HE should have or want for HIS theme?
go troll the expresso threads and talk about how much you like it there...
i personally would love to see a Pre-Theme, the icons and general feel is much "softer" and would chip in to see it become a reality...

I can see the appeal for something different like the Pre theme which I think looks pretty bold and smooth compared to Android...and I do remember early on for some other devices there was a Pre theme but I believe development had to stop because of Palm making threats..not quite sure...
Anyway, although I would definitely be interested in giving a Pre theme a try, it would not jibe well with every other application on your device in terms of UI...
as long as the developer doesnt try to sell the theme he will be ok over in the blackberry world one guy made a pre replica and he was getting taken to court for it so he decided to stop the developing of it
i owned a pre and pixi and i love the look and feel of it, just the phones design and battery life sucked. that's why i moved to android. palm won't tell us to not develop a theme, there are plenty of custom themes for the pre. i just bought a palm pre blackberry theme today for my wife and it's pretty sweet. i agree this theme should be free but ill donate for the work the dev puts into it. last summer mmission and zenulator had a palm pre theme for android on the touch vogue and it was killer but had alot of force closes.
im offering $10 via paypal to a dev that can theme the:
taskbar, launcher, icons and possibly the phone with as many realistic animations as we can get on the hero.
i do have a question...can we even get out menubar "taskbar" to look like the pre's? i mean with the icons aligned like the palm with the clock centered?

I do remember he was told to take it down from Palm because he used the exact images that palm uses. But he just changed the name of the theme to something else and had it up for a while. I still have it on my computer so I could use some of those images to put something together.
It would be alot easier to use a stock aosp rom instead of a rom with sense. If that is what your looking for? Or if you still want sense I could pretty much just theme the home screen, well I guess the dailer too and other stuff it would just be more work. lol. So which way are you looking for?

cool, any help would be appreciated. id like this for a non sense 1.5 rom. the dialer is optional, i just want the icons, launcher and taskbar.

as long as we don't call it pre we will be fine. and for your info i downloaded and bought one today off of crackberry for my wife. it has been there since june with no issues and he's selling it.
Well, we don't have to have the EXACT replica of the Pre but that kind of functionality would be pretty damn sweet. I also owned a Pre before coming to the Hero. If we could combine the two I think that would be pretty sweet. Also willing to DONATE for the work of someone who could do this.

agreed! lets put a slight hero touch to it but keep the pre feel and look.
to all doubters thinking palm will stop this...heres the blackberry theme i payed for this morning. you can see it looks just like a pre and has been up since june of 2009 with no issues.

Im also not good at answering a ton of questions and fulfilling requests but ill try my best.
FULL WIPE required before flashing this rom. Also make sure your card is partitioned for swap/ext3/fat before flashing. you must have your sd card partitioned because this rom comes built with apps2sd.

NOTES: This rom is a "stripped of all sense" version of the flipz 2.0d rom. The profile & prl will update fine in this rom. When the phone first boots and your on the setup screen you will notice the signal & data may drop out for a minute, it's because it is applying flipz custom prl fix. The battery life is good and there is NO awake time issues at all.
It has an older version of apps2sd pre-installed and dalvik is not moved. I have attached a newer update zip for apps2sd, just flash from recovery, this will move all dalvik & cache to the sd. It may take awhile for your phone to boot after flashing this.
"I recommend flashing this update zip before you install any apps and wait to flash it until you have set up the rom initially.".... DO NOT use another version of apps2sd other than what i have attached, this is the only version that does not seem to freeze the phone up. If you don't want to use apps2sd and move the cache, then DO not flash this.
JIT: I successfully have JIT enabled on "my" hero. I couldn't for some reason incorporate this into the rom itself. We will have to wait for Trev to update his app or for a possible other fix. I attached a black version of swype if you want it? for some reason i cannot cook it into the rom. Just unzip and push via adb or put on the sd card and install.
Ive had a few people want the taskbar clock back, i hate it and that's why it's gone but i posted a fix for it. Just download the services zip below, unzip the file and push it to system/framework via adb or the fresh kitchen. Reboot and it should bring it back.
UPDATE - 4/28: Flash the attached zip below from recovery to remove the aosp camera and restore the htc camera if it gives you issue viewing the photos you take.
Opera mini beta 5 apk is down below, i recommend installing it.

Im flashing & testing it now and fine tuning, had some reboot issues, then when i have a stable build ill post it tonight or tomorrow sometime. I t will be stripped of all sprint junk and will have no sense, so it's super fast. will come with the aosp dialer, vvm, apps2sd, latest swype and whatever else i feel like throwing in it.
Ill post a full apps list and screenshots when i get it going on my phone. The total install should only be around 85-90mb.

On a side note, does anyone notice how EVERYONE has a ROM now? There's sooo many anymore that I can't keep them straight and half of them look the same, and they're all based on DamageControl. Not that it's a bad thing!!! I just find it funny.

Exactly why I haven't decided to make a ROM yet, I'm more than happy to theme or create boot screens though.
Plus, I'm already working on building a Kernel... so that's a good enough side project for me, ATM.
I encourage variety! All of them are different in a way... keep em coming and list the changes and I'm good

Ive been working for 3days trying to get this done and the first two days were completely wasted. Well last nite JsChiSurf gave me an idea that should ve hypothetically solved my problem. Well, ive been messing with it all day and its working nice. Im calling this a beta for now and putting it up because it will get fixed alot faster that way. What ever is wrong i have a feeling its not a big deal and most ppl on xda could prolly figure it out. Inside its really FreshRom,FreshToast OC kernel,and the modded files from my favorite rom, DCGv4.6. FRESH FRIED TOAST sounds like a good name. So F2T_MOD is in beta testing for anyone that wants to check it out. THIS IS A BETA. I need help testing.

Kept wiping uid,data,and dalvic and rebooting and now its been working plugged in as disk since 9:30am so w/e i did im sure anyone can figure out, so i put it up to get this bug ironed out quick so others can use this sweet mod.
Once i/somemone else can figure out what i did it will be a full featured, modded, 3 Rom hybrid. Everything else works great. Dont make it your daily till then, unless you fix it on accident too XD

Nothing here was incidental. I took 3days to get this to work. Should haves are for you. I made this for myself and ul'd for others to check out and debug.
That would be nice but i WASNT going that route. I already did that a month or two ago....But before theme and look comes utility and usefulness when i do this, cus these are my personal roms that i make for myself that i share.

Well i can do themes, but FIRST to me when i make a rom is giving members choices and options that are not available to us yet, like custom launchers and kbs, lwp mods, etc....or a rom with 4 custom launchers,3 dialers, 3 kbs. Surely i have never seen any other roms like this so i make it and gives ppl another choice. Im not just a themer, but in no way a dev yet either. i made these MYSELF so they will be no where else but here. I made my transformers theme a while back, and IT IS A TRANSFORMERS THEME. THIS IS NOT. Its just made by someone who likes the transformers, so obviously it may reflect in some of my work. The nav scroller was just a proof of concept. I just thought it was pretty neat so i included it . GitKid told me he missed it in my last rom, so i tried to make it awesome this time along with everything else. I can theme in my sleep(I am an art major). Im trying to do ALOT more than just theme. I dont want to have to kang other ppls work but I cannot compile yet. HOwever i have been working on that. So its like this, if darch, flipz,toast,damage were all LIVE musicians, well id be a dj making remixes of that live music, and im happy with what i have learned in this short amount of time for now, but im ALWAYS trying to learn more, anyway i can. But its obvious you never saw it so check out my OptimusRom, thats TRANSFORMERS. And ive been using that site to collect all of my 120+ fonts i use to choose from since &RoidRage linked me to that site. Transformers font is still my fave, but only for a transformers theme. There are two other transformers fonts too, but they are called various other names, you should check them out youd probably like them as well...ALSO this might seem all over but i dont think there is any other choice considering i have compiled parts from over 8 differnt roms and got them to all work together. YOU try that and get it to boot...... NOT EASY.I eat sleep and drink this $h!t, and im STILL just a noob....

I got OUR lwp fix from JCASE and ZIFNAB in an an eris irc chan that jcase invited me to from an android help desk where i used to help ppls before all this.....I monitor any device that i can port things to ours from and even some i cant. I'm going to give this a shot, but I wanted to see if the LWP's are sticking after screen sleeps, and if so, does the fix impact gallery3d and other openGL type apps? (usually navigation gets fubared for example and some games and gallery lag out badly).
Just curious.

Ok, I have to give a big thanks to Mack Kaswell, and Xedous for their help with the little odds and ends that I bumped into along the way.
Updates:
8/7: Sorry guys, but this will no longer be 2.1 compatible. I've made so many more changes, and added so many more new icons since the 2.2 port, that it's not even worth going back to update the 2.1 version.
8/10: Big updates to the gallery. Biggest move was definitely giving the launcher buttons a glow effect when pressed. Looks great IMO.
Also, "Kuma Style Lite" is going to be released in the next day or two to give people another option, and hold them over until this one's good to go! I think you guys'll like it.
It actually doesn't look like I have much left to do on this one, so I'm just going through and looking for odds and ends to tweak with. Ex: I'm redoing the leftside taskbar icons. I had them as "simple" compared to the right side's more 3D look, but now I like the thought of everything matching up.
8/11: Home stretch! I pretty much have the signal icons and google talk one to do, and I'm feeling like it's pretty complete!
8/14: I didn't update it on here, but I actually haven't had a computer for the past few days. It just froze up one day, and then wouldn't boot up anymore. Took it to one guy in town who swore up and down tha it was the motherboard, and then took it to a more experienced guy who diagnosed it and saw that my graphics card was shot, and that's actually what was making everything a mess. But, I came out of it with a new graphics card, finally added stupid **** like usb 2.0 ports, and overall have a computer that runs like new. So yays.
Aaaaanyways, progress wise, I got home pretty late last night, so I just updated the signal bars, and that was it. Today, I go into work for like a whole two hours, so I'm just gonna' be updating the google talk/voice task icons, and then finishing out the .9 pngs (Thanks to RIPTIDE9 for writing me probably one of the best tutorials I've seen for something in sometime!). After that, I'm going to have some people testing it, but, overall it should be pretty good to go.
8/15: Made a ton of progress yesterday. RIPTIDE9 got me on track with .9 png problems I was having, so I went through and pretty much redid every single one that I'd screwed up, and then I was feelin' pretty nifty, so I went ahead and tricked out the stock keyboard too! The way it came out is probably one of my favorite things that I've done so far on this phone.
In other news, production's started on The K-Style Lite and BuzzKiller projects, so hopefully I'll have some screens to post of those soon enough. As for today though, I'm taking the day off!
8/16: Man, it sure was nice to have a day off, but, can't lie I did some minimal things throughout the day, like icon changes and stuff. Over the next few days, there are jsut a few more taskbar icons I want to change (liek the google voice ones), and then customizing the widgets like the facebook and twitter ones that I haven't even touched.
8/18:[/B] Haven't updated this front post for a while, but a ton of progress ahs been made. Really have learned a lot about the xml, and am getting better at finding my way around these files. Updated the dialer, facebook widget/app (yes, the app itself), and all of the popups (dialerr, notifications, etc etc.). Still lots more little tweaking to do, but deifnitely check out the gallery and let me know what u guys are thinkign or what you wanna' see!
9/07: Feels good to be back! Been without a compute for weeks, but came in, got back on track, and now the theme is almost complete. Registration for the site is now open. However, I do have a catch:
I'm looking to release the beta of this theme on the site either tomorrow or wednesday. Look out for it.
If anyone could help me port this over to other roms like CM6 and the like, it'd be greatly appreciated. Right now, I've only done it for 2.2 sense.

With the boot animation, I'm going to add another animation before it. I'm just trying to figure out what though. I'm pretty stuck for ideas atm, but I know I wanna' have an animtation, and then use that to close it out.
With the music... it actually takes some time for my phone to load up, so when I have the music shorter, it has that image just hanging there to silence until it loads up, and that's why I kept it so long. However, I think it'll all flow better once the animation is extended with the added scene.
As for different wallpapers, I think that's an awesome suggestion. What "kinds" of walls should I throw in though? More relaxed (minimal), or buesier with different looks?

Argh! LoL. Me and my "team" were going back and forth about what color scheme to go with on our next one, and it came down to blue or yellow, and we went with yellow on the notion that there are a lot of blue themes out there. We decided to go with that once "Buzz Killer" (running name for yellow project) is done,. blue's next. Going to do both blue and black, and light blue and white, so it should be good.

LoL, I'm not making the boot animation part of the zip. I'm going to uplaod it for anyone who wants it, but, it'll be optional. I want to keep as many things seperate as possible so that people can pick and choose. I've themed over apps and all kinds of ****, so I want people to have a choice of whether they want those things or not.

I was thinking you might want to use the beardroids as a sub theme within the kuma set. You might kick off an animal droid theme craze.. different themed wallpapers is always a nice touch for those who like the red but want a more classy look for work etc..

Hmmmm, I'm liking the "sub theme" idea, but it's not going to be on this theme. THAT would be too busy IMO. In fact, I think it'd be a great theme to build around itself.
And yea, I don't really know how to fit "classy" into this one. That's why I'd included the minimal version for launcherpro on the right render in the promo pic. Even with manup, he went with two different themes (dirty and clean) for different looks, because it's really hard to get two completely different vibes in a single theme just by switching out a wall. I'm inspired to put out a "light" version though for a more classy look... but, it'll definitely be a seperate theme.
Update: Added screen of themed sense contact bar and setting widgets.

Love the work man, you got some great skills. Keep up the awesome work. I did like the comment about a yellow theme though... I can't think of one out their. Kind of a yellow and black construction/biohazzard feel would be pretty cool.

As I was working on the current ROM I am trying to get going I got agitated and so for a break I themed it and made this while trying to get the extended toggles and tweaks to work right.
There is no need to do any wipes, as long as you are already on the stock 2.3.4 v21y rooted ROM that I posted. This theme is based off of the Xperia Arc UI and is FAR from complete, but I thought people would like something different with some functionality so here it is.
This will add the basic quickpanel toggles as well as the theme that I have included. All that is included so far is SystemUI, framework-res and some other small adjustments here and there.
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for anything you choose to flash to your phone.

LOL yeah, its not included here but I will do it in the next couple days. Im having a hell of a time with systemui acting right for some reason (probably all the smali edits). On what im running I have it already disabled and alot of other stuff, but its just insanely buggy at this point, so I put out the most stable thing I had for people to use.
I'm not sure why im having the issues I am, but its like nothing I have encountered before....

How different is the code from the leaked 2.3.4? If you need to see what I did in Tsugi, feel free to rip anything that helps.

I kanged quick panel almost verbatim lol. But, there is differences in ALOT of the smali. Especially around USB, signal, and points like that. I would almost be willing to bet you MIGHT be able to try this on tsugi and it may...fix some of the issues.

Well, the good news is I didn't touch the USB or signal code at all. IIRC, Weapon had some changes to signal code related to how some of the lockscreens needed to access phone state, etc. Which is why I didn't mess with that code with a 10 foot pole!
The USB code looked like when LG first grabbed it, it had support for USB host in place, which they simply disabled. They may have messed some stuff up doing that, and fixed it for the final 2.3.4.
It is promising though that this isn't just a simple recompile of the leaked version, maybe we finally have a stable STOCK ROM for the g2x after all this time.

lol weapons edits are not that bad. I have hella issues on 2.3.4 with signatures/non signed stuff. I see several small problems with 2.3.4 but they are easily fixed. First one is the dalvik rebuild issue you fixed with the repack, the literally kanged that code in.... The iffy wifi is visible in several spots too.

umm thats not 3d...it doesnt even show any depth whatsoever...but you are more then welcome to kang my stuff and add your own icons and post it. I dont care.

I resigned the entire ROM (except google apps) when doing Tsugi, so I may have avoided signature problems that way.
As far as Wifi, mine has settled down and is working well, though it has gotten "stuck" on an old wifi once this week. That's a problem I see on my TouchPad as well, so it may have to do with the Apple router at a friend's house which is the network they tend to get stuck on... the device will think it's still connected even when you're miles away, and of course, it isn't actually connected. Have to toggle wifi off and back on.
OH YEAH.....
Are you still using older versions of aapt/apktool/baksmali? Or have you updated to the latest versions? That could be an issue, might try switching versions to older and/or newer.

Everything builds fine, I tried resigning everything, but....needless to say i can make my phone go into s/w by installing apps after i did it. I dont think the issue is with the version of the tools, its more to the sha5/sig checker in the newer version of the lg crapware.

no worries, i learned long ago cant please everyone. So I just do what I like. Those icons where ok but by no means they where 3d.

haha yeah was gonna include it, but im lazy and people should know where to find their own mods to go along with it.
Actually I want to release a rom one day thats completely in pieces. It will be like a treasure hunt of mods. Just giving the total package no one will ever learn anything except how to complain what they dont have xD

I've always kinda liked the Xperia launcher in various versions because Sony appears to have made FAST and LIGHT key words in their launcher. Too bad it is horizontal scrolling. But I put up with that because the launcher is just very clean.
Stock launcher has always bugged me... they tried to make scrolling "pretty" but instead they made it kinda "boomerang/springy" feeling... like you have to fight if you want to scroll fast.

Sony is definitely doing it right. Their images are super clean and well thought of along with their code. I'm debating on trying to do a port of a Sony rom just to try and for the beauty of their ui.

Hey man, I flashed this theme and my notifications bar is gone; I cant bring it up. Did you hide it or something, is there another way to bring it up? I didn't flash your stock rom, I just rooted the one I got OTA(are they identical with yours?)

Oh yeah? it might not be the same then. Have a nandroid for me to compare? I've only tested it on my rom. I know you can't flash it at the same time as the rom, that's why I released it as a theme/mod.
If no one loads a nandroid guess ill rollback and try to get the ota..
