[APP][KK+] Secure Document Storage - Android Apps and Games

Many apps require access to your device's virtual SD card as a matter of course, and who knows what they really do with that access?
Secure Document Storage (SDS) provides secure internal storage for your files using Android's Storage Access Framework (SAF). Files can be saved to and opened from SDS using a variety of Android apps, such as GMail and Google Drive, using Android's built-in file browser, or by using the "send" feature of some apps.
Optional "paranoid" security provides firewall-style prompts each time an unapproved access is attempted.
SDS cannot protect against apps that have root privileges.
Download from Google Play or the Downloads tab on XDA.
Tip:
* When saving to secure storage from the "save as" feature of compatible apps, SDS automatically appends an appropriate file extension as necessary. However, SDS also supports the Windows trick of suppressing this behavior by typing your desired filename in double quotes, which may be useful if for example you are saving an HTML file from a text editor

[APP][ROOT][2.3+] Undeleter Beta - restore files on any rooted device [APK]

Undeleter Beta
This app scans and recovers deleted files from SD cards and internal storage.
Features:
• Restore any file that has not been written over
• Works with documents, images, video, music, archives and binaries
• Save files directly to Dropbox and Google Drive
Unlike other file recovery applications, Undeleter scans non-allocated sectors and space marked for deletion rather than file headers. This advantage leads to more accurate file discovery and restoration. There is no result padding - you see only files that were deleted, not useless junk from caches that's merely hidden.
For free, the app will only restore image files. Buy the key to unlock full functionality - undelete any file type, remove ads and allow background scanning.
NOTE: Some files that are discovered after a scan may fail to recover as the data can be corrupted beyond repair, just like desktop based solutions. Similarly, files that are recovered may fail to open or play back due to degeneration.
ACCOUNT PERMISSIONS needed for Google Drive and Dropbox

Guys Please sure to feedback here or on google plus community or email so that i can implement feature as per feedbacks

configure access to files and directories (SD) per app

Hello,
I was searching about a feature to limit the access of apps to certain files or directories.
Use Case: I may have a directory I store music and do not want to share this with (amazon music, ....)
I may have a directory where I store pictures which should not be seen by other applications.
Today I use a of the shelf Samsung A3 2016 Android 7.0, but I used Xposed, CM and rooted devices. in the past. I'm not registered as developer here did never codded Android app or kernel but developed on embedded Devices and Linux in the past. I would be happy if you could share a ready to use setting, app or development idea (even if you did not got it running).
What I investigated and did not work so far:
Option A - .nomedia
I know already there is a possibility to use .nomedia file in the directory to avoid pictures being shown in Gallery, BUT this is a feature of the Gallery app (as far as I see). So the developer of the Gallery app could also access to the pictures in the directories, if they would like. So I'm not happy with this.
Option B - using cryptography
So I could simply put the sensitive data into a container, there are apps out e.g. EDS.
But I found out if the application who should access the data is not providing a "path" where the data is stored or doesn't provide an interface to a cryptography it can not be used. And once I entered the password and the directory is mounted all the applications running are able to access the files.
Option C - restrict media access
The Android allows to restrict the access to media, so I simply could switch off the access in the app I do not want to allow. But this doesn't work if the app need to store data. Android Music should be able to store the music on the phone but should not be allowed to access the other directories on my SD.
In pure Linux it would be quite easy you can use different users and access to files.
But Xposed may provide a solution as I could filter requests to the file system, but is there a example out there.
Thank you for reading all the stuff
I'm looking forward to read about your ideas
gonso
Hello,
no one has an idea or solution? I'm not able to post in the developers section may be one of you
may move the post into the Development part.
If not existing yet I would try to find out how to develop

[APP][5.0+] SMBSync2 - One Way Synchronization / backup using Network SMB v1-2-3.1 or Local Storage

SMBSync2 is a tool for synchronizing files via wireless LAN using SMB1,SMB2 or SMB3/3.1 protocol between the internal storage of Android terminal, SDCARD/USB-OTG and PC/NAS. Synchronization is a one-way from the Source to the Target folders.
Mirror, Move, Copy and Archive modes are supported.
Sync occurs between two folder pairs called the Source (original folder) and the Target (destination folder). It is a one direction Sync, from the Source to the Target.
Many storage combinations are supported (Internal storage, SDCARD, USB-OTG, SMB, ZIP) and even an SMB to SMB sync is possible.
Sync can be automatically scheduled by the app or started by external applications (Tasker, AutoMagic etc) or SMBSync2 schedule.
The supported Sync modes are:
Mirror
The target folder is kept as an exact copy of the source. If a file is different between the source and the target, the file on the source overwrites the file on the target. Folder and files not present on the target are copied from the source. Files and folders that do not exist on the source are also deleted from the target. Only modified files (by size and/or date/time) are updated on the target.
Move
If a file is different between the source and the target, the file on the source overwrites the file on the target. Once copied to the target, files and folders are deleted from the source (like move command).
Only modified files (by size and/or date/time) are copied to the target. Identical files, based on the selected compare criteria, are deleted from the source without being copied. Files and folders on the target, not present on the source, are obviously preserved.
Copy
Same as Move, but files are not deleted from the source after being copied.
If a file is different between the source and the target, the file on the source overwrites the file on the target. Once copied to the target, files and folders are kept on the source (like a copy command).
Only modified files (by size and/or date/time) are copied to the target. Identical files, based on the selected compare criteria, are ignored and not copied again.
Archive
Move photos and videos in the source directory to the target if they were taken before 7 days or 30 days before the archive execution date. (However, you cannot use zip to target.)
The following file types are eligible for archiving.
"gif", "jpg", "jpeg", "jpe", "png", "mp4", "mov".
Compare criteria: Files are considered different based on these criteria:
File name exists only on source or target, not on both sides
Files have different sizes
Files have a different time stamp (last modification date and time)
In Advanced Options, many compare settings can be adjusted.(Here is an example)
Time tolerance interval can be set to ignore difference if less than 1, 3, 5 or 10 sec for compatibility with FAT/exFAT medias.
Ignore Daylight Saving time is supported.
Option to not overwrite target file if it is newer than the master or if it is larger in size.
Option to delete files on the target if they are excluded by filters (exemple: exclude from sync all folders named 'cache' can be set to delete also all folders named 'cache' on the target if they were copied before setting the filter for example)
Option to chose compare criteria, time only, size only
Many filter options: file/folder names, proper support of wildcards (*, ?), filter by file size or modification time, by file extention...

I was driven into this project after FolderSync payed non open source alternative was dead. Well now it is again active
However, this app is open source and has a lot more advanced options than any alternative. In addition, it has powerful filters and supports SMB v3
Finally, it is actively developed by an amazing dev whose maintaining it very frequently. It properly supports up to Android 11 currently. There is an ongoing app on github, SMBSync3 that should target Android 12, but I did not test or review it for now
If you have any issues/suggestions, please post mainly on the github issues tracker

hi, I'm starting using this app on 2 phones (xiaomi and sony ones) on different android version.
on both the application is regularly killed with this status message :
(us approx traduction from fr language)
"application has been restarted after being killed during background" or something like that.
is there an android feature to configure to avoid this application being killed ? is there a white list to configure for application that should not be killed in background ?
the same thing occurs for application that are moving a large number of files. I notices that copy paste and stuff like that has been interrupted.
it's a pain that unwanted stuff like mail notifition and unusefull background app are not stopped and wanted application in background are killed
Auto sync not working for me as expected.
Is there any way to sync quickly without waiting?
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
It works for me on a Galaxy S20
Please, if you have any issues/suggestions, post mainly on the github issues tracker. They will be fixed easier
Also, you should provide a minimum info, like enabling debug mode and provide error logs info
I think there is just no option for sync every 10 sec (or better immediately) or similar. Only a minute, not a big problem though
It works

Click to collapse
Yes, smallest is 1 mn, but I really don't see the use of it, especially over smb
Immediately, that is on file change ? That would be very energy intensive for a phone and I am not even sure that Android allows access to such an API like in linux/bsd
I used to sync my files with Syncme on my previous phones (Note 2, Note 4, S8) which worked great.
Since I switched to S20 FE, Syncme will no longer work to sync my external SD card files since it does not have access to external SD.
SMBSync2 seems to work perfectly so far. Thanks
Been using this for a few years and works great. When I swap phones I just set it up and reverse the source and destination locations and copy all the data back. Works great.

Transparent Folder Encryption

Greetings,
I'm looking for an App that would provide transparent folder encryption, along the lines of the "Encrypt contents to secure data" option on a Windows folder.
One that works on a SD card, and also treats files transfers via USB cable.
Is there such an App?
I'm posting this for lack of a better place.
If there is, please relocate it.
IDK of such an app.
But on Android 8+ you can protect files with Safe Folder feature, will say you can hide files in your Safe folder and control access with a PIN.
You can encrypt the SD card if you have that option in security. I don't recommend it... as you're the one most likely to be locked out by it.
