[Q] Lost mobile network - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running rooted stock rom. Yesterday all of a sudden I started losing network connectivity AT&T LTE. Occasionaly the network comes back but it's only 1 bar. So I flashed PA just to check if it's problem with CM but I still lose network. I checked the APN settings and everything seems to be okay.

Try flashing a different modem through fastboot. There's a thread on XDA with different OPO modems.

Having radio problems

After flashing CM9 on my nexus s GSM, I no longer have any data connection or any connection at all for that matter, it detects that there are radios around but I cannot connect to any of them.
I have checked I still have the correct IMEI, and I have tried going to stock 4.0.3 and slim ICS, and 2 different radio drivers to no avail.. Also wi-fi works fine.
Can anyone suggest what I should do next?
edit: even tried going back to gingerbread... still no luck
Is there no advice anyone can give? I've tried so many things and i've run out of ideas..

Did you try to flash the latest factory image (4.0.4) downloaded from Google? It includes the radio, and after flashing it you would have your phone as if you bought it just now.
heres the different radio http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884 or maybe the problem was the carrier??
try to figure out whats the problem?? or maybe you broke your signal hardware..
or maybe the problem was on the carrier??

CHeck your APN settings under settings>More>Mobile Networks and create a new APN unique to your own carrier. also, check if you can still make calls
I have this problem also when flashing cm7 months ago..
Solved it by flashing different radio..

Turns out somehow my phone corrupted my sim card after I flashed CM9, got a replacement, waited a day for three to activate the sim and it's all sorted now. Thanks guys
Wow. That sucks. At least you got it fixed and let us know!

After installing KitKat no mobile data

It all started when I installed Beanstalk 4.4.2 on my S3. LTE/4G started working intermittently. I thought it was the rom so I flashed Gummy's latest 4.4.2 nightly build but am still having problems with my data connection. Data worked intermittently for a while, but now has completely stopped working. I have tried flashing other KitKat AOSP roms, but am not able to get mobile data back. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Thanks!

can you see your baseband under settings or does it say something like "Unknown" under it? if so then your IMEI has been wiped and you need to restore it.

Ok thats good that you still have your IMEI but that version is very old. I would recomend flashing the MF1 firmware and then flashing the Ml1 modem This will ensure that you have the most up to date modem as possable. You can find the firmware files here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788313

Need Help: Can't get 3G

I have posted about this before but nobody was able to help. So I'm trying again.
I can only connect to 4G and 1x. So when I'm in an area that doesn't have 4g I don't connect to 3g but only 1x.
I'm running the Venom rom and I installed the Ota that came out in April.
I have tried switching the network type and it is set to "CDMA and lte/evdo auto".
Can anybody help me with this?
I never heard of this. That is weird for sure. Maybe try an run the RUU an go from there. Just a idea I'm throwing out.

This happened to me. I am using Viper Rom also. Basically when I was in my "home area" 3G/Voice would work great, but when I went out of my home area I had LTE only. So after several factory resets going back to stock without RUU'ing, the only thing that fixed it was RUU'ing. I then reflashed latest Viper Rom and all was good. Don't have any idea why it happened. You might try flashing just the radios from Santod Mods here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723159 and see if that fixes it. If not just RUU and you should have 3G again.

First thing I would recommend is flashing stock recovery and doing a factory reset from it. Stock recovery resets some radio parameters that custom recoveries don't

Signal / Sim issue?

Hi Guys,
Strange problem that has me a little stomped and nervous..
Basically I was on the one plus one official forums and found a thread talking about how much better 25R is when it comes to battery life.. I have a brand new Oneplus one that is is / was on 44S.
In this thread they linked to xda for the rom, it was just a stock 25R rom that was made a flashable zip. Well I figured what the heck might as well try it, made a nanoid backup and titanium backup, wiped and flashed away.
Well as soon as I booted into 25R I noticed I had no signal at all, like nothing. So then I set up the system a little figuring whatever just need to reboot I guess.. Still nothing.
I then pop out the sim card and notice now the "No sim card" icon displays then disapears over and over.
I reverted back to my nanoid and still my sim card issue persists.. Nothing I seem to do restores my signal, I have flashed multiple modems etc..
Has anyone ever heard of this? I find it very hard to believe I some how developed a hardware problem the same exact time I flashed 25R.. sure as hell seems like a hardware problem though.
*** Edit I tried one more.. on the Android Developement area there was a stock rooted 44s with a zip that has 44s etc.. modem etc.. I flashed this file - even though I already flashed another 44s modem zip.. Seems to have given me back my signal and sim detecting abilitie.. Thankfully..
I don't know what triggered this, this is the thread I got the 25R zip from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/rom-xnph25r-cm11s-zip-t2820008
Teach me to flash anything while at work without access to fastboot.
I had this problem aswell, actually still have it whenever i flash a new rom.
The thing you have to do to get your signal back is changing your preferred network type in Settings > Mobile networks.
Mine has no option ticked standard, so i had to manually set it to 3G which solved my problem.
Tell me if it worked for you!

Yep. You need to do that as suggested "......... in Settings > Mobile networks....to 3G " / 4G / LTE depending on your Carrier/Network......:good:

No Data Connection

Hi everyone,
Could really use your help. I tried updating my phone to Lineage OS and post update, my phone's data connection stopped working. I've tried flashing different firmwares to see if it fixes the problem and it didn't. I went back to my old backup, and the problem continues. I can't access any data connection (no phone, or text either).
Any idea on what could have caused the problem. My steps were basically:
Backed up old Sultan 12.1 Rom
Installed Lineage using TWRP 2.8.7.0
Installed latest Gapps mini
Installed the bacon_firmware_update_2015_05-15_DI.3.0.c6-00241.zip
And data problems began
Now i've tried redoing the steps with the latest recovery and it doesn't change anything. And as previously mentioned, I'm having data connection problems in my old backup as well

Yup, I reverted back to my old backup and no flashing of firmware, and it's still messed up.
Found out that my IMEI isn't showing up so that could be the problem. Went through "the entire internet" and found some fixes, trying them now to see if I can get something to work.
Edit: I flashed to CM13.1 stock. But my IMEI is still not showing up. No idea what to do next. My phone connects to the network, but doesn't let me do anything considering it can't find an IMEI.

Most probably that is an issue with incorrect firmware.

It's not just your imei,it's your EFS and modem.
You should've backup your Efs before playing with things.

the persist flash you listed

deleting modemst files https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-efs-partitions-how-to-lost-t3307793
I had it partially working at one point but going through this solutions just messed things up more.

Are you talking about flashing stock from the thread you linked above? I'm not on the stock firmware from the fix above, I'm on stoch CM13.1.2.
Should I go back to stock CM11 from the fix above? Or can I just extract the sbl1 file from the package and flash it in fastboot?
Okay, I finally got my IMEI back using this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-efs-partitions-how-to-lost-t3307793, and flashing stock oxygen OS through their recovery rather than TWRP.
But now, although it reads my sim, my phone doesn't connect to the internet, and when it does, it doesn't connect to 4g. I still can't use data services despite having the baseband and IMEI fixed. So now what are the next steps? Could my hardware be broken?

I installed lineage, still no data connection. Honestly about to give up on this phone. Is there a good stable rom that I should use?
I've tried Lineage and now Sultans CM13, but still no data man. Just my sim stuff is acting weird, and i know my sim is fine. I'm switching carriers and ordered a new sim. I'm hoping somehow changing carriers helps, otherwise I'm **** out of luck.
Edit: Ok, so on Sultan's CM13 I've finally got the data working, but it only works when its on H+ (4g) otherwise no internet/voice/ text. So is there a fix this?

4G is Lte not H+(3G).
Yeah maybe OPO doesn't support the band your carrier uses for data.

Nope, not the case as I've been using the phone for the last 2 years. I read up that the switch between H+ and 3g happens because the carrier only sends data through H+ not 3g, so it happens to every phone, not just the OPO. But now my problem is, I can't send texts over 3g.
I'm going to wait and see what happens when I get a new carrier's sim.

Thanks for the help guys, I think in this case it was more of a carrier problem. I learned that Wind has been updating their infrastructure causing some network problems. Couple that with a finnicky OPO and you get headaches.
My new carrier seems to be working better (but I've only had the new sim for an hour). Going to do a full day test and see what happens.
Thanks again.
