best infuse rom

make your case here
Been happy to run stock for a while, but going to load something new tomorrow

currently using infused 1.5, I like the stock look but wanted the extra tweaks and features like bloatware gone, better battery life and its noticably faster.
Infused gives you 2 options at startup for launcher, either a much more revamped version of touchwiz 3 or the gingerbread style launcher with 3d drawer. I prefer the revamped tw. most of the core components your used to with stock will be there but you get the open market, not att crappy version, widget picker so your list isn't a mile long, hotspot enabled and some other stuff, just read the changelogs. So if you love the stock look but want the added stuff infused is for you.

I never understand questions like these lol. There isn't a best, it's a matter of personal preference.

indeed, that's why I asked for people's opinions and to state their case
I've never understood questions like yours, where people feel the need to but into other threads just to tell them how stupid their question was.

You. Should Read the entire thread of both roms you're interested in and ask questions there. There's no need to clog up the forum with pointless threads.
It's pointer because there are already threads about the roms. Post there.

Seriously tho I've been back and forth on them all. Infused gave me best battery life and was faster but I'm on bionix because I like the gingerbread look and the transitions.

I'm using Infused 1.5 (with the 4.5 TouchWiz launcher found here) + bedwa's Infusion Kernel.
Gtg's rom is already very smooth and quick, added in the OC from the Infusion kernel and this phone flies. Also, the battery life is pretty great thanks to the rom in itself and the UV'ing from the kernel.
Really enjoying this setup as of now, the only thing that would really make me change is if a developer produced a CyanogenMod rom or an MIUI rom.

Having tried all three, there isn't a huge difference and it comes down to personal preference. Once you're on ext4 you can literally flash a new rom and kernel in the same amount of time it took you to come up with that monster slam "what are you from Missouri" lol
Edit: and trust me, once you flash one, you'll end up trying them all. You should start with infused since his thread has very noob-friendly instructions for people like you

I've flashed more roms than I care to in my time, but I'm traveling on work and I have limited time I'm on wifi to download roms to install. Don't want to wait 2 more weeks until I get back home, so I figured I'd ask people who have roms installed.
that was a nice attempt at an insult in the edit, but you betray your ignorance in the first paragraph when you defended Missouri.

I have infused and enjoy it, I am curious about the others but all the rom threads are wanked now.
There are a couple of things I have to do on a daily basis that make switching roms every other day impractical.
My phone requirements run more to usability than looks, fortunately the infused rom provides a nice stable base for both.

There's a reason we mods don't like "best rom" threads. Unnecesary flaming, name calling, etc.
Like the others said: there is no "best" rom, only the one that best suits you. And you have to find it yourself, no one can do it for you.

[Q] Looking for a GB Rom... at last

Well, after many months of enjoying Cognition 4.4.4 (the most stable version of that rom on my Captivate i879, build 1007), I've concluded that I need to look at upgrading to GingerBread. My phone is getting so it's kind of sluggish, especially with some of the new App updates from the market.
So my question is, which of the GB Roms is relatively easy to load and most efficient for an aging Captivate? I really need smooth and fastish... but most important to me is BATTERY LIFE. I'm used to getting 24 to 30 hours on my baby with moderate use, even with its somewhat aged battery... and I've gotten spoiled.
Mmph. I should also mention that this phone has yet to meet a 1-Click version of anything that doesn't end up soft-bricking it, so that's a factor.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

"best rom" is an opinion. best for you is a decision.
what you consider good is not what others will consider good.different roms have different options, you may like different things.
battery life is dependant on what you do, what apps you install, and KERNEL.
roms do come with a kernel. but it can also be changed.
in my opinion in FROYO the best was firefly 3.0 rom with onix kernel.
you want my opinion with gingerbread??? my rom. the one i made. though i may be HIGHLY BIASED.

Yes... and I apologize profusely for posting what is obviously a question in the wrong section of the forum. I'm usually more on it than that.
I don't mind getting opinions on this, though. The folks who are really about the rom they're into usually say why... and this being XDA, they often do so in detail. Those are the kinds of opinions that make it easier to make informed decisions, and I always appreciate them greatly. And yes, I will give your rom a look, bias or no.
Moderator... if you could please close this thread, I'll set about putting it in the right place, if there is one.

moderators will usually close these threads without being asked as soon as they see them, not because its in the wrong section but explicitly because of the reason i stated above.
xda does not want opinion based threads claiming one rom is better than others. because as i stated, one person will like one thing and others another.
or if you want to know whats popular just look at the "thread views" count of the [ROM] s in the development thread

I personally am on Serendipity for my captivate. I find that it is very stable for everything I need to do. Just an fyi there are also no more updates for this rom so on that note it will stay stable and you wont have to worry about updates for it.

Saurom is a really smooth rom with good battery life I found.

SAUROM is good.Have a try.

GB ROMS are like cars, some are built for speed and performance others look good and some give you great mileage...and some have a nice mix of all three, the choice is up to you to test drive a few before you buy and then if you are not satisfied you can just trade it in for another model.
I have found something I like in every ROM/KERNEL (GB KERNEL development is exceptionally good) I have tried but its really a personal preference just as in the car you choose to drive.

I think that it would be cool if we had a poll thread with every rom listed so we can have an idea of the most popular Roms. I know when I am new to a phone I want to know the top rated roms to save time flashing. What do you guys think? Just a poll with every Rom and just let people vote on their favorites.
EDIT**** this is NOT for me I am extremely satisfied with Viper and JellyBam and I don't need this, It was just to help other but it looks like no one wants to and wants everyone to find it out on their own so i retract this idea

not always, just means that the thread got people's attention. I view a lot of Rom's thread a lot but I haven't downloaded it just read what people were saying

Just because there's a thing on XDA about not having best ROM threads and this would be like the ultimate best ROM thread. It would be against the rules, that's why I said what I did.

it is not for me... I have tried all the main ones, its for new people. I don't care either way I just thought it would be nice if you just got your phone. But if you didn't read my post I guess you didn't see that
I love my Viper, or for a change up I got Jellybam and I couldn't be happier

man... does anyone read my post before commenting I already have found the best, its for others. I love Viper and I am very satisfied.

adding a poll of all active roms would help bring light to some under rated roms as long as it wasn't perceived as a best rom poll which would be very difficult as it most likely would turn into one.

It's against the rules, and there are good reasons why that is the case.
Such threads often lead to debates about "best roms," which creates unnecessary drama.
They also annoy the devs, and can lead to hurt feelings.
The devs almost unanimously do not like them, and if you haven't gathered from the name of this site, this is a developer forum.
This thread will be locked like the 500 others like it before this.

Joshua I dint think you're getting the main reason of the rule..it all kinda comes down to common courtesy..the devs aren't paid to dev nor do they have to share their work with us... You as the user can at the least say thanks to them..best Rom or most popular threads has a chance of putting certain rom devs down...each rom is great I've tried almost every one in this forum

"Which is the best" threads are not allowed on xda. If you want people's opinions, read around and look at their posts (and most post what they're running in their signatures).
You are expected to make your own decisions on which is best for you.

But I did NOT ask "what is the best" . If you scroll up and read again what I wrote, I asked for *SUGGESTIONS*. Even the thread TITLE does NOT mention anything about "best" or "top 5".
I want to know about what are considered popular ROMs, used by more than the ROMs author and a few others.

I'm new to the rooting world friend, but of the two Custom Roms I've tried I like Kit Kat Killer over Cyanogenmod 11. I came from a Sprint Samsung Note III (SM-N900P). Give it a shot man it's awesome, it's got a bunch of cool wallpapers, a bad ass beastmode Kernel that reaches 2.762 Ghz and I like that you can actually still use the S-pen as opposed to CM11. Just a rookie myself but I say flash it man I'm happy with it. Peace.

"Best" or "Recommend" ROM / Kernel threads are not allowed on XDA. Please test these things for yourself.
That is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

The one that works best for you. I would suggest reading the threads in the original development or Android development forums, and pick the one that looks best for you.
This thread should likely be moved to the general or Q&A section, or removed entirely...best rom threads seem to amount to a load of subjectivity.

Actually, they asked what was the "best customizable" rom, which means the rom with the most features capable of customizing to their needs. I don't see why everyone on here has to be so negative towards people that are just looking for help. The answer (given due research) would not be "subjective" because each rom has a certain number of features strictly dealing with customization. This would lead to a very definitive answer. What's the old saying??? If you can't say something nice (in this case helpful would be a more operative word), why say anything at all?
As for an answer to the OP: For kitkat and below, the most customizable one would be PAC rom. Check it out. It's a combination of the features of Paranoid Android, AOKP and Cyanogenmod. I think you may enjoy it for personalization and outstanding battery life due to their tweaked kernel and performance settings.

Thanks for your help bro.... M the fan of pac rom but m currently on lollipop 5.1.1 so suggest me similar to pac man rom.

I'm hooked on Euphoria OS now.. I suggest you check it out. 5.1.1 with most all of the amenities of PacRom. Loving the battery life on it, as well.

I agree with "best" but the most customizable custom rom does exist regardless the stability and so on...
