how can I disable the proximity sensor ?
Comment:
Hey guys I broke my phone's touchscreen glass (and the proximity sensor stopped working after that)
now when someone calls me the screen become's UnTochAble , so I can not for example dial a number or Hang Up when I am in a call .
I undrestsand it is because the phone's proximity sensor that thinks the phone is close to my ear and it shouldn't allow any button to be pressed. I cannot use my phone even after the call is disconnected...screen dosent turn on and the proximity sensor dosent stop
how can I disable this feature so I can still use my phone ?
Suggestion..
Since I am on a different ROM I cannot tell you exactly the steps necessary.. But go to settings>accessibility.. There you should be able to find the solution.. Also there is an option power button ends call..
If your phone is rooted you may use GravityBox to change the way the proximity sensor works..:good:
Yes my phone is rooted..im using stock mmx os ..ive tried the power button method .but it dosent work.. Pls give me a way to disable the sensor... Please

Have you solved this problem? If not, install Xposed Module installer and a module called Disable Proximity sensor. Install Xposed first and the module, reboot. Problem solved.
Hi,
My canvas 2 screen was broken so i got it replaced but after that it seems there is a problem with proximity sensor. While making or recieving the calls my screen turns off and it doesnt turn on. I have tried some apps but no help.
Please let me know how can I fix it. Is it possible or disable proximity sensor completely in A110. Else, an alternative solution would also help.
Is it possible to use power button, Menu button durijg call to turn screen on/Off.
Please help. I am struggling since many days but couldnt find a solution this proble.
Thanks
Nilesh
Hi, I've been having some problems with my proximity sensor lately.. I have only noticed it during my first call last January in which my girlfriend called me and upon finish I checked my screen to see that it's still black, tried to power on/ power off, but only the capacitive buttons would light not the screen.
I have used Phone tester to check my proximity sensor and tried it.. It says Waiting... then I put my finger on top of it, it says Near.. After I remove my finger, it's still stuck on Near.. So clearly , my proximity sensor is operational but is at fault or bugged.
Bottom line is, does anyone know how to calibrate or fix my issue? I have a Konka V981 phone, rebranded here in my country to what's now called Cosmos X2.. With an MTK 6589 chipset.
Thank you in advance to whoever could help me solve my problem. Hoping to find the solution from the professionals in this forum and/ or site.

try flashing a custom rom
Oh I forgot to mention that I've flashed multiple ROMs onto my unit but the problem still persists... I've tried about 6 roms and all of them have the same output, my proximity sensor is still at fault.. From Waiting... to Near... and never going back to Far.. It should be, or the normal should be near upon putting my finger or something in front of it, to far, removing the object, or my finger from it..
I tried a Note 3 rom, whereas I noticed that the proximity sensor wasnt needed for call sessions, whereas I could just power off power on when Im on call so my face wont randomly tap the screen and make a mess.. But I don't want to keep the Note 3 rom, so I flashed back to our modified Stockrom Android 4.2.2.. And then the problem came back..
If only someone could help me calibrate or at most turn it off.. Id be grateful.. But Id be more grateful if we could just calibrate it rather than turning it off
Is possible to fix proximity sensor calibration without root, how? If is not possible, is there a way to turn off permanently it? I ask this because on a huawei y625 during whatsapp or facebook call, the screen turns off but doesn't turn on if the receiver doesn't refuse the call.

A trick for you.
I tried it coz of same problem.
When dialling any call or reciving it. As soon you enter chatting. Switch off the screen using power button. Doing this will switch off procximity sensor during call and you can wake up screen by pressing power key again.
Hit thanks if helped
Well anyway i liked that ninja hathori pic of yours
