hangouts keyboard - HTC One Mini

Anyone else having trouble with the HTC keyboard and hangouts? When you're in hangouts, and you have your keyboard up, and you press home button, it takes you to your home screen, but the keyboard stays up.
Also, if you're in hangouts with the keyboard up, and you receive a phone call, the keyboard stays on top of your incoming call screen, blocking access to the answer/decline buttons.
There's a thread about this in the Google hangouts product forum and they're supposedly working on it, but I was just wondering if anyone else had the problem.
So frustrating. I can install another keyboard and everything works fine. But I like HTC keyboard the best.

Stupid Text Messaging Problem

Hi guys, im using a fuze, it has the HTC Stock Rom on it, the thing that pisses me off about it is the damn text messaging in landscape, this is what happens, i receive a text message, i want to reply, so i put it in landscape mode by sliding the screen so i can type on the keyboard, when i start typing the freakin dialer shows up and it gets in the way, is there any way to fix this. its so annoying
Simple. If you open the SMS from your mate first, so you're in the "instant-messaging-a-like" dialogue screen, THEN open the keyboard, you won't get that problem.
If you open the keyboard whilst you're still at the HOME screen, then you'll get the landscape version of the HOME screen, and typing stuff in there will automatically take you to the dialler.
The thing to remember is that if you're looking at emails, SMSs, the Weather or whatever in the tabs in the HOME screen, the application you're using is the HOME app (Manilla), so opening the keyboard up is just going to get you that landscape version of HOME with all the application tabs. It's only when you actually open up an SMS / Email etc. that you enter the appropriate application, and at that point the keyboard is "owned" by that app and opening the keyboard up will get you the landscape version of that app instead of the landscape version of HOME.
Hope that helps.
haha, well i guess i kind of worded it wrong, what i meant to say was when i get the text message a little box shows with the message, when i hit reply which is in the lower left corner it enters the messaging application once there i put the typing cursor in the text area, when i slide up the screen to use the keyboard it kicks me out of the messaging app and then takes me to the dialer. once i close the dialer then i can continue typing
Turn off the notification box. When you get a new SMS, you get a green indicator against the SMS tab on the HOME screen anyway, so it's not necessary. When you get an SMS, it'll still play a sound and give you an indicator on the top bar. This'll get round your problem.
coming from a tilt and many other windows mobile devices im very used to the way the text messaging works, i really like the pop up notification more than just a green number.
Same Problem with MDA VARIO II
I got this problem with the MDA Vario II and I still get it with the TOUCH PRO
It would be great to fix it.

voice-to-text in swype?

I just started with swype it is completely sick and I bet i missing something obvious i dont see how to get to voice to text in swype. Do i do it from settings or from the keyboard?
I searched and it said long press keyboard which doesnt work for me, other results say there is no way but i dont believe that
It's on their "To Do" list.
Just press the menu button when the swype keyboard is up but only works in text msgs

Ok thanks, I cannot seem to find it in text I pressed the hardware menu button (there is none on the kb right?). But I guess only in text is better than nothing. I kind of assumed, incorrectly apparently, that swype was mainly associated with android so voice seemed obvious but I guess swype is on other platforms as well. Is it officially on their to-do list?
Yep. http://swype.uservoice.com/forums/55960-swype-for-android-beta/suggestions/530365-voice-input-button

SMS keyboard backspace issue

Tried searching with various keywords for this issue. Wasn't able to find anything. Would appreciate any assistance or a link to a thread that this was discussed in. Thanks.
Issue: I have not figured out the actual trigger yet, but very frequently when i'm composing an SMS/MMS, when I need to press on the backspace, it brings me to a different screen which is asking me about clearing entire words. Clicking the cancel and/or the back menu button doesn't do anything. Sometimes it requires multiple attempts or sometimes switching to portrait or landscape and reattempting. Once it does clear that screen. It doesn't allow me to bring up the keyboard again unless i completely back out of composing the msg or again having to switch to opposite screen orientation. Been dealing with this for sometime, but its been happening more frequently and annoying. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
Running inspired saga v1.1.
thanks in advance.
This happens if you open the keyboard in portrait, switch to landscape, and then have to backspace to correct a word. Rotate your phone to the landscape position first and then open the keyboard. Switching mid text will get you. It is an annoying bug.

Thanks. Sucks that there's no fix for it yet or at least no one has replied yet to direct me to a fix. Its bothersome enough that I'll most likely need to switch sms apps.

Keyboard SwiftFlow (swyping) bug

Anyone have an issue where the Samsung keyboard will stop responding to SwiftFlow, also known as "swiping"?
For example, sometimes when I want to input text, the Samsung keyboard appears, but instead of being able to swipe through letters, It will only detect "tapping" or the first letter I touch.
The simple fix is to hit the "back" button on the phone which will close the keyboard, then bring the keyboard back and SwiftFlow/Swyping will work again. The problem is I seem to be running into this a few times a day during heavy use, so it's obviously annoying when it happens.
