without unlocking bootloader

You can't root without unlocking the bootloader. Bootloader is a sort of a security lock to prevent any messing about with the firmware.

In Sony its possible that we can root without unlocking boot loader
Please reply
I don't want to lose my warranty
Thanks in advance
Even the method in the link requires an unlocked bootloader. You can't root without unlocking the bootloader. Either way of you root you'll lose your warranty.

@azhar.munshi.... It can't be stated more plainly than @rudi_j7 has put it ----YOU CANNOT ROOT OR INSTALL A CUSTOM RECOVERY WITHOUT UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER ---- it is no use trying to quote links stating how it is done to Moto G devices because those links don't exist, and what is the point of quoting "Sony" devices when we are dealing with the Motorola Moto G.
Owners of Moto X and E are able to root without unlocking bootloader
Rooting without unlocking the bootloader usually involves an unpatched exploit of some kind. An OTA could make you lose root on a permanent basis, and you may or may not be able to flash kernels, which would be an issue for custom ROMs.
Either way, no such method has been posted for the Moto G yet.
Hi I have a question, is there a way to temporary root my Moto G? thx
There is no way to root Moto G Without Unlocking Bootloader.

Hi, I have an HTC One M8 on 5.0.1 and I have little knowledge with rooting. I want to root my phone because there are some apps I want to use that are only capable of being used if my phone is rooted. I've tried Kingo root and it doesn't work on my phone so I was wondering if someone can give me instructions and download links so I can root my phone. If you can it would be much appreciated, thanks.

You have 2 options at the moment.
1) Ship device to one of the many great people with a Java Card/XTC2 Clip - Look at the OP of this thread to see where the people are located.
2) With some time and luck - King Root, which has been proven to work for a number of M8 users.

I was able to get S-Off using the KingRoot and Sunshine method. Now what? Although I did get root long enough to get S-off, I lose it after each time I get temp root with the KingRoot app again. KingRoot will say that I have root, but I can't get SuperSU to install.
I am doing a factory reset now and will try to use KingRoot to get temp root, then install SuperSU. Will I then be able to install TWRP after SuperSU is installed correctly?

If you are S-OFF, then I would flash a custom recovery and then a custom ROM (if you want)
or flash superSU in the custom recovery if you just want root.
Once S-OFF you are in full control of your device, so do some reading about it as you can end up with an expensive paperweight easily if you don't know what you're doing.
Or try vroot, i rooted my phone in just 1 tap
dexter0218, I think it would be BIG BIG news here if there were a one-click root solution for the newest M8. 5.01 phones aren't rootable easily.
boltz111, no need to fiddle with SuperSU. Now that you are S-Off, make sure you have ADB and get the latest TWRP for the M8. Drop to your ADP shell and do:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.zip
(sub in the name of your zip)
That's it. Then:
- Power down
- Power up in bootloader (hold down vol)
- Go to recovery
You have to go to recovery before booting or else the rom will overwrite the recovery.
Once you're in TWRP, you can load up SuperSU from a .zip and it will do its thing.
Or flash a rooted ruu from fastboot, loads you back to stock but with perm root, never had an issue
I've android phone with 7.0 version, the phone model name is "QMobile A1 Lite".
I want to root my device for being purpose to use the "Zanti" app for penetration testing.
I tried a lot to root my device but I'm stuck in the TWRF step because there is no TWRF file for my phone model, so is there any way to root the device without TWRF?
I hethard about Kingroot, OneClick root etc but many people says that they are not safe to use and steal your data. So I'm not looking for these type of method.
I want to root my device manually using adb tool without TWRF or if is it possible to get the TWRF file of my phone model.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
It's TWRP. (Team Win Recovery Project) If you are able to unlock your bootloader and there is no TWRP for your device, you can build your own from source. Not easy though.

Hello all xda members,
I am not new in rooting. I was rooting my phone since 2014. When KitKat and lollipop introduced. After I purchased the new redmi 8A dual, it's impossible to root with kingoroot and with others. So, I googled how to root Android 10 miui11. I found there is an app called magisk. So I installed it. Now, I searched more, I found that I have to unlock my bootloader in order to install custom recovery. I really don't wanna unlock my bootloader and custom recovery. I just wanna root for temporarily because I need to convert some application to sys apps.
Now,
I found that people doing another magisk way to root and is called 'patching boot image', . I patched my boot image and download the platform tool. Now, I am completely puzzled because I don't know what to do next! Some are saying I have unlock bootloader and some are rooting without unlocking bootloader.
If by patching boot image root is possible without bootloader then could you please write the steps! I am completely noob in magisk line.
Or,
Is there any way to root MIUI11 without unlocking bootloader? I really don't wanna loss my data.
Thanks for reading!

Your only chance of rooting without unlocking bootloader is to find a universal rooting app or PC program that has an exploit that works on your device. But, I doubt that there is an app or PC program that can root your device, those stopped working on devices with android versions newer than Marshmallow.
