I executed your instructions from "HOW to root & install cwm recovery by androsamace" of the XDA post with success:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693049
Then I tried to use the app "Link2SD" and got the error "Failure. App2SD is not supprted by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage."
Edit 20 sep 2014 14:28 paris time:
Android version 4.1.2. Samsung Galaxy young duos.
Link2SD
32GB micro SD with partitions as: 1st Primary 25GB FAT32, 2nd Primary about 4GB, 3rd primary Linux swap 900MB
Strange thing is.... Link2SD of 18kb update to PRO results with the error "inefficient storage", but installing the APP clash of Clans, with a wopping 40+ MB is no problem??!!!
I can Link apps with Link2SD.
What can I do to solve this? I can not even install the Links2SD pro update from Google play store.
Many thanks
I tried to call on my Samsung phone --> *#9900#
This will show the Sysdump menu. I pressed the option "Delete dumpstate/logcat". In the post below, it worked for that person, but for me it does not matter. Remove the spaces to get the link... working

Anyone more ideas?
Solution I also tried: Install the app "App Cache cleaner 1 tap clean". But It didn't find any cache to clean.
I cleaned everything before, with Link2SD app already.
Funny to mention that this app can be installed too, and that only certain apps display the inefficient storage error....
Ayone more ideas? please!

Remove the spaces to make a legal web address.
this post mentions about Odex files. How can I remove them automatically / manually?
I have rooted my phone , but cannot install the app systemcleanup...

First Thanks for the helping, but I still got the error "inefficient storage problem".
So I cannot install "Root External 2 Internal SD" to try swapping internal with external sotrage.
Any ideas how to solve this error?

what is the partition type for the second partition on your card link2sd will only work on ext2 ext3 or ext4
It's ext4 and in the app link2SD I chose ext4 also.
I am using frameroot version 1.9.3 btw...

I installed X-sam's Rom. And the error "no efficient storage problem" is no more. Before the app Link2SD plus update would give the error.
But after the ROM update the error is gone. =)
The link to X-sam's Rom's forum thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2601838
Going to give Root External 2 Internal SD now my problem is gone.. =)
I installed the APP Root External 2 Internal SD from Android play store.
The steps mentioned in :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-young/general/swap-internal-sd-card-external-sd-card-t2817853
At first I did not see a change like my internal memory being swapped with external,if I look into settings/storage.
My internal storage is still about 1GB free and my external is about 24GB.
I found out that I deleberately have to press the checkbox"At boot **" two times!, the box right of the button "External > internal".
The checkbox is default already checked, but is not active!!!!
Only after doing that, I saw in my Android phone settings/storage, that both internal and external are both about 24GB.
That indicates that my Micro SD is being used as internal storage. After another reboot my internal is 24GB and my external is about 1,2 GB. Everything is a-ok!
I tested it with large APP's like "Plants vs zombies 2" which is about 400MB big. The game could be played without problems!
Just AAAWWESome! :highfive: to you r2dak!
Internal storage is used even if the APP internal 2 external is running. Using Link2SD paid version to move extra Megabytes off my precious 1.5GB internal storage towards my Micro SD.
I installed a lot of APPS, and still got 1,1GB internal memory free !

I have installed Cyanogenmod 7.2 to my Samsung Galaxy i5801 and it seems to be working OK, mostly. I am having to try to reinstall several of the apps I had previously but each time I try I get a message that there is insufficient space to install.
I have checked the reported space and it seems I have 0 internal storage and 14GB external storage. I have tried to change the storage location for downloaded apps to both internal and external with no difference.
Any suggestions for a solution? I have tried searching the forum and, although I see other posts asking similar questions there don't appear to be any answers.
Mike
You can try to reflash the rom or you can partition your SD card and use data2sd.
The problem with the install location is, that you need to have free space on the internal storage in advance.
The app is first downloaded into a container on the internal storage, and then installed (at least partly) to the internal storage. So you should have at least appSize * 2 of free space.
Another app you could try is Link2SD. It moves mostly everything of an app to the sd-card. But for that you need to partition your card. Just google for that app
TRIED Link2SD [ BUT NOT WORKING ]

If you are using Marcellusbe's build then Link2SD should work. Just ignore the error and reboot the phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31062543
I use marcellusbe's CM 10 only .....
I rebooted the phone ...
But it is not at all movig the apps to external SD
did you install the rom with odin? i had exactly the same problem, reinstalling the rom from clockwork mod recovery fixed it, or install the mtd version from recovery.
Hello everyone,
This is my first post here. I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 5830i and today I bought a new SD card because the old one was crap. I had this problem before, I have it now. When I try to download an application from the Android Market, there is always this error ''There is unsufficient storage available''. I checked and I had 23 free MB of Device memory and 1.8 GB free on my SD card. I read a lot of articles about this problem and tried many ''solutions'' and nothing fixed it. I will be really, really thankful if anyone can help me fix this. Cheers!
Try MarketFix by Felipe Aaon
You could also use Link2sd to make room on your internal storage.
the error you are facing is because once your internal storage is filled by approx. 85-90%, it shows the error - Insufficient Storage available
Try moving your apps to sd-card from settings/apps. if you moved them already, have you rooted your phone? If yes, then you can partition your sd-card to make space on internal storage. this can be done either Minitool Partition software for PC or through your CWM or TWRP recovery(needs root and custom recovery flashed)
what it does is, it takes a part of your sd card and converts it for internal storage.
If you have problem with the Playstore, you can root and install a newer version of the playstore. try this though i may not be sure about this
Google for the method as i cannot posts links currently
Cheers
I have an LG Optimus F3 (Virgin Mobile) and it has a 4GB internal memory. Of that, only 1.23 GB is free for installing apps and roms. The game I want to download and run is Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour which is almost 2GB.
1.) I have my device rooted
2.) I have Link2SD installed
3.) I have a 32GB MicroSD card installed. 21GB is parititioned in FAT32, while the remaining space left is in EXT2.
4.) The install location in Link2SD is set to External
I am still getting "Insufficent space" errors whenever I try to download this game from the marketplace. I thought Link2SD was supposed to fix this. I know I am doing something wrong, but I cannot figure it out. Please help. I am at my wits end.

I suggest that you uninstall apps that you don't need/use and/or remove bloatwares.
Since you're rooted, I Recommend to integrate the updates of your system apps to your Rom.
You're baffled. Android phone has four parts of where the data goes. System Rom, Internal, Internal Sdcard(SDcard0), External Sdcard(SDcard1).
The 2GB game you want to download is going to use your configured Sdcard0 and your internal memory which needs to have 2GB Free of memory or more in total. As far as I see your Internal Sdcard is set as your Sdcard0 whilst your Micro Sdcard is set as your Sdcard1. In that case Link2SD Won't help you, since apps use Sdcard0 to store it's data NOT Sdcard1. Meaning Link2Sd will just move the data of your Game to your internal sdcard(Sdcard0). To solve this you need to SWAP your Internal Sdcard and Micro Sdcard. Means from "Internal SdCard(SdCard0) : Micro SdCard(SdCard1) TO Internal SdCard(SdCard1) : Micro SdCard(SdCard1)".So Link2SD can move the data of the Game you want to download to your Micro Sdcard(Sdcard0) via Edting vold.fstab at System/etc/vold.fstab.

So guys sorry if I posted this in the wrong topic but I'm kinda new here so..
I got a tablet with specs;
OS: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
Processor: ARM Cortex A9 Quadcore
RAM: 1GB DDRIII
Memory: 8GB(Expandable to 32GB)
and other unnecessary details like touchscreen etc.I copied the above details from the box.Although it says that it has an internal memory of 8GB, the tablet contains only an integrated SD of 5GB only. Also, there is a small cable which enables me to connect my flash drive to the tablet.
As the title says, I'm running low on memory.I got only 3 games. This is a tablet given by school so there are many apps like IProf by mythware and many more.So I'm here to ask if there is any way to move my games onto an external flash drive or extend the internal memory?
It's already rooted btw.
Hey there , I have a solution for your problem . Its good because you already root your phone . First . Install Link2sd from play store . Then you have to grant for superuser permission . Then you can simply tap on apps which you want to move to your external storage . This gonna force the app to move onto sdcard using Apps2SD method . You also can uninstall a bloatware ! . Here you can have more free space on your devices !
Press thanks if helped !

But that app can move it to the external flash drive?
Btw I got a problem.I told you that there was an internal 5GB SD.When I pressed "move to SD card, the app moves to the internal rather than the external.
Also, in the link2SD, when I get into an app's details there is a line that says this:
Symbolic Link - Second partition not found -
Then beneath it:
Make sure you have two partitions on your SD card and both are primary.

Sorry but i forgot to mention you , you also need a partition on your sd card . Its mean that you have made a separated memory on your sdcard . How to do that ? Simple ! , Just google "HOW TO PARTITION SDCARD USING MINITOOL PARTITION WIZARD" or search on youtube for simple way , On XDA also got that tutorial . Enjoy

Hello,
I followed this thread to try and switch my SD card (32 gb) with my internal storage.
After doing what the above guide said, I managed to get from >>INTERNAL STORAGE being 3,98gb, APP storage being 4,15gb and SD card being 29,90gb<< to >>INTERNAL STORAGE being UNAVAILABLE, APP storage being 29,90gb and SD card being 4,15gb<<, whereas the poster of the guide got it so his SD card is now internal storage.
I have done some tinkering before trying out this method, I mainly used internal2external app i got on the play store, but with no success either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
try this instead.. its to another post of mine in another topic where they were binding the internal partition with data partition.. the method you linked to is swapping the internal partition with your external sd card.. the method i linked you to is better than binding or swapping since it just extends your internal partition to your external.. i have 10mb of used space on my internal partition and can install any and all apps i can find.. if you decide after getting it set up that you want to be even more extreme.. you can pair foldermount with link2sd and probably have less than a mb of used space lol.. good luck
Since the 2nd partition..

Thank you for this, I have tried it and, even though I do get the error that the 2nd partition can't be mounted (?) it still links the applications to SD. But, after I linked my apps to SD, I tried installing a big file (i had 3.03gb out of 3.98 free (INTERNAL), after installing i have 3.79gb out of 3.98gb), and I got the storage low again, I couldn't seem to move it to SD :/
After restarting the phone, i got the "Mount warning" again, and all my apps that I linked 2 SD are shown as grey icons saying SD which I presume means they cannot be launched as they aren't even installed. After uninstalling the app that filled up my internal storage, I restarted phone to find out all my linked apps were deleted, any idea what I did wrong?

I was have the same problem. There is only one way. Gain s-off with rumrunner. Look rumrunner thread and follow the instructions. Its really easy. After s-off you can do everything. You can delete google apps, link all apps to sd without any problem. I have installed many apps i still have 3.00 gb full of 3.85 gb. I created sd partition 2 gb and linked all apps there. Good luck

i use Rom Cleaner for the One X and it removes 95% bloatware(i had to add ~35 boost online apps to the list).. link2sd cant move everything and for that you can use FolderMount.. together these apps reduce internal used space to nearly nothing
thank you
