Hey guys, you are welcome to put your comments here, we will appreciate it much!
If anyone has suggestions, it would be great, or at least if you say that this app is great
I'll test it out when I go on a hike next. I'll comment my thoughts after I do!
Edit: Okay after installing it and playing for a few minutes I have to say I do like the app. Just a few things I noticed, nothing bad. Just what I feel would make it well polished. No disrespect.
1; You could use a pin to signify my location instead of the android. Pin on a map. Classic.
2; Swiping between tabs would be amazing.
3; When you have a GPS fix and go to the Map tab, it would be nice if it automatically pans to your location. I know you can do this by clicking a location in Saved Locations tab and clicking show on map, but it would be nice for the app to do it automatically just so when you go to the map it shows the area around you if you're exploring new areas around you. Mine always starts over Africa and I have to move it back to NY, USA to get to my location.
Everything else is nice though. I like it. Indeed works offline with no connection. Good app.
RoyJ, Thanks a lot for your review!!!
1) Could be, but just for fun, and better distinguish I use this droid. Because, once you add a lot of locations you will lose your current location in case it will be the same pin (just colored in another way )
2) Yeah, thinking of it, probably will add it
3) You shouldn't choose location in list, you can just tap map tab.
There is option in menu on map tab(bind to me) - this option allow you be always in the center of map.
If fix is available - you will see green line at the top(it is red if GPS is not available). At this moment - just go to the map and bind map to you, it will move with you
Enjoy!
I'm always open to discuss and help if you need it.

Unfortunately no, you can't find your phone using Location Detector. I though about implementing such application, but it will be another story.
Location detector is being used for getting back to places you saved, or if you are want to reach some totally unknown places. So you just add it on the map, save to your list, and navigate to the necessary place.

For all who are looking for a free navigation system WAZE is the way to go.
It's a community project and help is still needed to make it a perfect app.
Means driving new roads and naming streets.
A very nice feature is the that you can submit LIVE trafic information (hazard, speed cam) and if you drive slow it will show that for others too so they can avoid this street.
For WM is a new version available and it does look much better now. The one on Omarket is v1.4, so forget that one.
Here you can get v1.8

Update 07/06/2010 Version 1.8.99.202
Latest beta version, which supports most 1.9 new features (missing feature - you cannot edit street names from within the application).
From some initial testings, there might still be freezing problems, but this version has better stability which is why we decided on posting it here, while still working on fixing the freezing issues.
Download 1.8.99.202
Update 22/06/2010 Version 1.9.99.301
Includes
* Filtering of reports by distance (updated)
* Correction of application freeze after prolonged usage
* Support of Facebook and Twitter traffic related inputs and respond (currently no FB connect is supported)
* Improved address search bar
* Improved zoom when driving through intersections
* Insert existing user name even if skipping it during installation
* Reduction of unnecessary route calculations
* ... and a lot of small bug corrections
Download 1.9.99.301
The installation will take up to 10min. So dont worry.

not google maps. they have there own map grid and the maps are generated by the community 1st by driving and 2nd by editing the map online.
the maps are online but when you look at an area on the device they get downloaded. so you dont need for maps always a connection

taiwan doesn't have a map grid yet as far as I can see but there are some streets already (check http://world.waze.com/livemap/). you can start using WAZE and after on the server you can change the part you drove into a street.

sure it should work without any problems in the states. it works on the whole world, but from area to area the community is different developed and therfore the mapping. but the states are the most developed as far as I know.
Thank you! I'll give it shot.
sorry but i can only say

anyway it s very badly developed in Hungary... even the capital Budapest!
so a lot of mapping job incoming...
and I can just say

happy waze'ing
Sounds like fun, maybe i'll give it a go here in the North of Norway
Edit: just one question, when i use this cab, will thre be any extra costs? Does it roam when its logged on?
WTF with bluetooth? ****ing pop up for Bluetooth! What i have to do?
After using it exclusively today, I give this app an A+. Only thing I dont like is people can ping you which gets annoying. When im traveling I dont want random people trying to chit chat with me.
Overall I endorse this navigation.
Just turn your bluetooth on and you can navigate away.
You are the CHAMP!!
I'm not too much of a fan.
Besides there is no real 'getting started' guide (the 'Guided Tour' is no more than an ad) there is a bad strategy for attracting new users: 24-48h until any update you do yourself shows on maps.
I'm in Switzerland:
- there seems to be right now no coverage at all
- there's no 'walk through' telling me how to add my region
- when my updates (from driving /w waze enabled) show up earliest 24h later, how would I know that/how it works?
So how would I know how to use the app? Did I miss something?
Frank
P.S. Even searches for smaller Cities like Davos or Chur did not provide any result. There needs to be much better user guidance.

Good to see that you are reporting wrong location to us, we will check that location out shortly. You probably didn't know this due to our lack of instruction in the app, but the app does have a feature where when you are at a location that isn't accurate, you can correct the location on your device.
The way to do it is. 1. Click on the detail of the location(Walgreen), 2 Click on the triangle sign(button). 3. The app will search for a GPS signal and when it lock in, press the fix button. That will send us the right coordinate for that particular location and it will also reflect in your device right away. No need to way for us to correct it. This will also help order people in your area out too .
Thank You for using YAH !

I see flags, lot of flags on the map and list, what's wrong? I see some retailer graphic, but lot more flags now!!! Though when i click on flag it shows me a list of retailers and flag next to it. Not as intuitive as having icons. Can you get the retails logo back?
dumble_bee,
I had this same problem the first time I installed it yesterday. It was in the middle of loading the icons and then my data connection dropped. It left with a bunch of flags and restarting the app didn't help. I found a fix for this, by wiping the catch and data in the setting->management application. Once I did that all the icons came in.
f8andbethere,
Thanks for this pretty useful app. I now know there is a RiteAid store that is closer to the one I normally go to because of this. I will take it for a drive this weekend and will report back.

Did that, helped only partially! i can see bevmo yay! but I still see lot of flags i.e. AutoZone is a blue flag? and so are others...
heeellllppppp...do i have to reset the device to clean it up?
We know about the bug Carlos mentioned and will fix that in our next major release. The work around is what Carlos has described. Go the setting->manage application->you are here->clear cache and data.
dumble bee,
If you are only missing some icons then that is because we are a bit behind on icon creation as we were focus on pushing a lot of new data last week. We will fix it shortly.
You probably saw some local food places with just flags in your area. Those we will probably never fix unless they are very well known.
f8
dumble bee,
Pushed some icons last night. Give it a go and let us know if you still have issue. Autozone should be there now.
Enjoy,

Took this out for a last minute shopping in San Francisco yesterday. Worked out pretty good. Data came in pretty quickly. The only problem was in the middle of downtown the GPS went in and out because of tall buildings. Other than that it worked great.
Carlos
Nice concept. Would be cool if it could also access one of those online coupon databases and show you coupons/sales/deals for stores around you.
SwiftLegend,
Thank you for your input. We are actually working on the exact feature you are requesting. It will probably be in beta in a few weeks.
Thanks,

I tend to agree. Even going to familiar places from unfamiliar ones wouldn't seem to need an app.
It may have been a programming exercise f for the op.

Its not necessary that one needs to be familiar with a route. Let's take an example ...
I go to Australia to visit my Bro (am unfamiliar with Australia as I live in the Middle East). Once am at his place I take his spare car and drive round the country side and need to get back home :s Had I set a marker before I left my bro's place, I could get directions easily. Ok, that was day 1. Day 2, I move out again ... remember I know my brother's place if I am near or about the locality but have no clue of where I am when I drive beyond a point. This could help me.
Now, if I have a widget on my launcher, I could use this right through my Australian trip.
That said, I have not tried this app yet. I do wish that this could tie up/ integrate with other offline map apps too such as Sygic, etc. When I am at my home, I use Google Maps a lot, but when I am touring, I use offline maps to save on my data. Would be good if I could go through Google maps on my PC, place markers and then have it pop up in my offline map application when I do not want to use Google maps.
I like this app, it is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for it.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
It's not only usefull for common places. You can add any place you want. For example for a trip preparation.
You can also search places in Google Maps and for later use you can send the place to the app and safe it.
I work a lot in different citys and i use it dayly to get around. If you live in a small town it is easy to find your way but in big citys which you are not familiar with it's always a nightmare.
And with the categories you can easily manage your addresses for example by work, friends, family, discos and so on.
There are a lot people whih are brilliant in navigation but i am a bit stupid with this. so i created the app to help people like me to find there way faster(one click or even with a widget) and more easy.
Hello everybody.
I hope you hav fun with my app.
I added some new features which makes it more usable and a little help for beginners.
Features:
- save of last category
- added help
- added menu
- added button in menu to get current gps position
Great app, but is there any way of getting rid of the annoying ads at the bottom?
In the newest version i made them already less anoying. Because in the past the ads pushed the buttons away. Now the buttons stay where they are so that you can't accidentally press the ads.
And if i would put them on top then the ads would push away the list and then you maybe navigate to a location you don't want.
And i wanted to give a free app with full functionality instead of a demo version.
So i use the ads because it cost me a lot of work to create this app and to make it runable on a lot of systems.(Hopefully it's bug free)
I'm liking the app so far you. I would gladly pay a $1 to have an ad free version. I had a few suggestions that hopefully could be added.
1. Even though when we save a location it saves the latitude and longitude can it also fill in the complete address for the location.
2. More labels notes is a good start phone would be another good one or even better you can add your own
3. maybe when you are in the location edit the button that you use to launch could instead be a street view image of the location.
4. option to change distance from km to miles for the US
5. options to sort addresses A-Z, distance from you etc...
6. more background colors and styles
Thanks a lot for those tips. After i read this i needed to implement some of this stuff in my app.
So here are the new features:
- automatic suggestions while you type in the address (only works with active internet connection)
- new labels like phone number, email and web
- new search function
- show distance in miles and feet
- sort locations by distance
- new info window with automatic functions like call, send email and start browser
Hope you have fun with the app. And please tell me if you have any trouble or if you like to see other stuff in the app.
PS.: I think about a payable version of the app without ads. But at the moment the amount of users is too small.
But you can change that
Now a new Version is out with new features.
- added public transport navigation
- fixed an import export bug
- small grafic changes
- when you share an address out of the new version of google maps 7.0 than the application will be able to read the information

Hi,
First of all thanks for your great app. Really useful.
As many other users, I prefer to use a voice command when I'm on the road. So far the best for me is KLets and I was thinking if you could allow its developer to add support for your app in order to be able to launch a Clicknav's location item with the voice command: "Navigate to" + "location name".
There's a discussion in the support forum of KLets. Hopefully you could help us.
http://www.voicecontrolapp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=13463&p=16631#p16631
The idea is to allow external access to the location list and be able to invoke a location item via Intents (maybe there's an easier way).
Thanks in advance
Easiest way to explore Google Street View.
Main features and tips:
- random Street View (select country in preferences)
- add places to favorites (yellow star in left corner)
- moving Street View camera by volume keys (forward - volume up, backward - volume down)
- remembering last position
- drag and droop marker (long click on map to move marker)
- long click favorite star to show favorites list
- full screen on landscape orientation
- share panorama

Amazing. Works.
This is truly thinking outside the box. Great idea. Hopefully live navigation will be added in the future. Would blow Google stock nav out of the water.
Cool. Yeah I love the random button too
I have one small issue
My house faces due north and when I tap on the icon to load current position the map loads also facing due north.
So I rotate the image so it's looking down my road (east/west) so I am facing in the correct of travel but when I press the volume rocker the map moves north/south effectively slicing through my house instead of moving east/west
But apart from that, it's brilliant
Sounds like a good app. But I have a couple of questions.
If I understand this correctly, when your using street view you have to manually advance the view with the rocker buttons right? It won't advance as your driving by it's self?
Will the map view continue to advance as your driving?
Thanks
Apk please... Thanks...

Fantastic idea from the dev!
I'd like to be able to move from the GMaps or GMaps Engine app to your app seamlessly. To that end, could you let us know what action intent settings we need to use to be able to launch a search for a specific string/address from another app?
I'm thinking of using Tasker to send the intent once I detect an address being copied to the clipboard in GMaps or GMaps Engine
thanks!
Does not work, running 4.4.4 and only rooted and everything else not altered, it will not open just crashes on first click to open?
Great app,
The GPS icon is still showing on the screen after i closed your app
The location tool says your app is currently using the GPS (after it as closed)
phone: Galaxy S5 4.4.2 Rooted
Thank you, good work !
Cool app!
Does continue using "location" after backing out but killed by omni-switch, icon dissappears.
Repeatedly updates street view even if I do not request change. May correspond to streetview's own refreshes which are even more "glitchy."
Map view seems to have the options I selected in Maps. Street Panorama only offers "traffic."
Questions:
Does this depend on / replace (should I so choose) Maps. Install Maps-engine?
Does this depend on / replace Streetview?
Hi
Thanks for this very sweet app!
Just a suggestion: add in maps panel blue path on road rellay shooted by google; now, if you move maps pin in a non driven area, you got black screen in street view panel.
Hi, have another suggestion:
Would be great if there was a way to import or batch add Favorites (not just by clicking on the star in the App). I could see lots of use-cases, e.g. being able to input one's list of favorite restaurants or cafes, sharing Favorites lists with friends, etc.
On the same note, where is the Favorites data stored? SD card would be better than data/data

il link non funziona e sul play non si trova.
I get the feeling that Google didn't like it too much.
@markacme : I sent you a private message to offer my help in localizing the app to French.
Let me introduce you my latest app GeoReality 2.0, who has reached a whole new level.. You can now explore the area around you and search for nearby places (like restaurants, hospitals, stores, gas stations....) just by a single click, or type a place name or place type to search for it...
And the most important feature of the app that all these places will be shown in reality in front of you through your mobile camera...
In addition to many other features... Try it now you won't regret it, critics and reviews are most welcome...

GeoReality lets you visualize locations placed on the map by showing them in reality through your device camera.
First add your favorite locations by either:
* Selecting them on the map.
* Search for nearby places or use text searching to search for a place name or place type (ATM, Bank,..).
* or Add a specific location by entering its latitude and longitude.
All locations placed on the map will be displayed in front of you through the camera with their real-time distances and bearings according to your present location and direction.
* You can add info to those locations (Address,phone,comments..), and an optional tag picture.
* Click a location marker on the Camera screen to display its info and picture.
* Track a location to know its direction when it goes out of sight, as a simple navigation method.
* Send your location via SMS to someone else who also has the app to add your location on his map, so he can "see" where you are.
* Zoom an area when the locations markers overlaps on the camera screen.
* Pinpoint your own location on the map to reach maximum location accuracy, or use GPS/Network to automatically determine it.
* Locations added to the map will be stored on your device, so no need for permanent internet connection when using the app.
** IMPORTANT NOTES: **
- GeoReality depends on the compass sensor to determine your direction and the selected locations bearings, so if you experience poor compass behavior try calibrating it by waving your device in (∞) shape several times or watch this video to learn how to calibrate the compass:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1EPbAapaeI
- If the device has a cover with a magnetic clip you should remove it, because it will affect the the compass and the app performance.

come on guys!!..
Any suggestion, question, problem... anything....!!!
I like it so much. You could match places to categories, each category could have own colour. You could add a background to the description, because sometimes it is not possible to see information, when background has the same color like a text.

It's really a good idea to let user select the marker color to categorize locations..
hopefully I will include it in the next update
looks good.
cacheing for offline use?
sent from a microwave oven
The app uses the default map caching, because once the locations are added to the map they will be stored in the app database and displayed on the camera screen without the need for internet connection.
you need the map only if you want to add new locations

I've double checked everything regarding the app distribution but I couldn't find the reason why it's not compatible with your device.
Anyway you could download it from this store:

Any suggestion, improvement, problem, bug.... before the next Update??
Check out the new update GeoReality 1.1 with Google Maps search, so you can easily search for your favorite places and add it to your map...

Hey, are you able to add US measurements on it? Even though I know somewhat what the equivalent is for miles vs km but it's just more of a convenience for us in the states. Otherwise your app is simple but effective ?
