Hi everyone,
I have a Samsung tab 2 p3100 with me. I used to flash a lot on my tab and try different Roms on it. But lately i faced this very uncommon problem when i flashed a purebean hdv2 rom on my tab. After using it for a few days i tried to flash a new one. So I made a titanium backup of my apps at night and in the morning my tab started rebooting as soon as i change any setting. It's like it's stuck on the same data, apps and setting as it was at night. Tab would restart in 10 seconds of usage. And even if i try to change any setting or remove an app in those 10 sec, everything comes back to the same condition after a reboot. I can't format data from the recovery. There's no failure or error. CWM shows the data is erased but the rom has no effect. CWM flashes everything without displaying any error but it does not change anything in the rom. I can't even change the recovery. Even i flashed the original stock rom via odin and the flashing too aroung 2 hrs to finish, but still the custom rom was there with all the apps and everything. Now i have really no clue what to do about it. I cant use it in the present condition and can't even change anything on it..
Please help me Tab 2 community. PLEASE............ :crying::crying::crying::crying:
And When I turn it on repeatedly this message is shown :unfortunately this aps need to be closed , and so on
Are you able to install TWRP? I believe it has an actual format option rather than just wiping the storage. It's possible that might do something...

I m facing the same problem with my GT2 (p3100) but in my case...i cant even complete the stock firmware flashing process completely(gives an error at around 60%).I have cwm 6.0.2.7 and as said by Akelis_2,the custom recovery too cannot b updated or changed! So, I cant even install TWRP.
Got any solution for this..?
I can't install TWRP
Can you send us a screenshot?

Have you formatted system partition? Go to recovery and then to mounts and storage > format system and flash some other rom.

Yes. But I Can't format data from the recovery.
You mean that you can't access recovery? If no then try flashing some other recovery like philzs touch and try formatting system from it

Maybe you need to PM the developer of the ROM to give you a solution.
Are you sure you flashed the correct rom?
Can you give me link to it?

You said when you boot, CWM starts. Are you sure its CWM or just stock recovery?
Same thing happened to my phone. I tried flashing a custom ROM but it didn't work. I took it to the service center and they re-installed the software. It happened while doing something related to root. Has the device been rooted? Also, is the device the S - 7500 or 7500L/W. Because I have the international S - 7500 version and I installed the file for the L version then this problem occured. So I suggest you take it to the official Samsung service center. But beware, if the device is rooted that means the warranty has been voided and you will most probably have to pay.

To flash a custom ROM :
1. CWM recovery
2. Apply update from SD card
3. Locate the zip file
4. Select the zip
5. Allow it to flash
6. After flashing is complete reboot the device.
I suggest trying the Atomblast ROM which I am currently using

This may also be the bootloop that occurs when the official software update is installed when the phone is rooted/CWM recovery is installed.
My son root this phone & this is international phone S-7500
so its means this phone is damage now ??
plz confirm
thx

What happened is he tried to flash an update on a modded phone. Had he done his proper research he would have know not to do this as once you flash your phone you lose the ability to do system updates. Copy a rom to the SD card and flash it. That should get home working again

I have flashed many ROMS recently to try them out and also had a similar issue with one or two of them.

Not sure what is going on but here is how I flash a ROM from recovery and so far so good.
Copy rom file to external sd card in phone.
Do a full factory wipe, cache and dalvik.
Install rom.
Install Gapps if necessary or desired.
Wipe cache and dalvik again.
Reboot
Note that some roms will give you a recommended list of what to wipe if doing a new install or upgrade of that rom, if such instructions exist its best to follow those instead but the above has worked for me for a while now.

That's what is advised to do before flashing a completely different ROM anyway by some. From recovery, flash the ROM again, and if the ROM is not corrupted (check md5 or whatever comes with it), you should be good to go.

Hello everyone i currently flashed my sph-d710 or sprint gaxy s2 to a kit kat rom. now first i tried flashing back to other roms, nothing lower then jb and i cant. so i was thinking of flashing a rom and tried backing up through rom manager and it brought me into recovery with an error. My a.d.d. having ass deleted the villumanti by accident b4 the error and i wiped/reset everything including cache during the error, and couldnt flash anything (i tried 3 roms). IN THE END I REBOOTED ALL WAS THERE.I think i have an idea of what happened. I think it could be due to a modem issue e.g. downgrading from kit kat to jb. Should i flash a custom kernel thru mobile odin and get the recovery from there(IM RUNNING THE LATEST CWM I BELIEVE)or should i boot into recovery wipe all data cache reboot recovery and flash the modem, reboot into recovery again proceed as normal. Also what modem should i use. If ive been to vague or you need any more info let me know. P.s. Good afternoon, (although it is here in Holland)
After updating my cyanogen to a new nightline version the tablet didn't start up anymore. But I still could acces clockworkmod recovery mode. First I downloaded a new version of cynogenmod and placed it on a external sd-card and tried to install it (within clockwork). That didn't work cause I received the "status 7" error. After that I tried to transfer the ROM-file using ADB (adb push.....) and the result was again a status 7 error. Even when I deleted the first lines that should cause the error (the updater-scripte) *(yes I do have the correct version). In the end of this horrorstory I typed in ADB restart bootloader or something like that and the system rebooted in download-mode. The screen displayed downloading,, please don't shut down or something alike. I didn't touch the tablet for several minutes but than my patience reached it limit and pressed the power button to restart. But now I can't acces neither the download mode nor the recovery mode.
What can I do or should I do? I believe that I should flash the whole thing again by using Odin or Heimdall? IMO my opinion that means first reinstalling clockworkmod on the machine.
For the new nightlies you need a cwm version. > 6.0.4.4

Thank you. So I should install a new recovery.. Is that the same as clockworkmod?
My idea is the following. Starting again from the first block by flashing a new clockworkmod recovery on the device. The problem is dat I now can't acces bootloader and/or recovery modus.

Somehow I can acces download mode again. Haven't tried recovery so far. I now want to flash a new recovery (CWM) on the device by using Odin. But when I download the correct CMW version for my galaxy tab 2 10.1 (5110) it seems the file is corrupt. Even when I download other versions they all seem to be corrupt. What I am doing wrong??
I somehow can enter download-mode again. Didn't try if I also can enter recovery mode. I want to flash a new CWM on the device using Odin. But when I download my CMW version for the Galaxy tab 10.1. But when I try to open the file. They are all corrupted ??? Windows sees it as a .img file.

So my first question; do you have a custom recovery on your tablet? Second question; can you get into recovery? If yes to both, then get into recovery, flash the new recovery zip, then restart your recovery under the advanced option. You should then have the newest recovery (yes, I realize how redundant it sounds to use recovery to update recovery, but this is the process on my phone, so don't why it would be different here).

Yes, I do have a custom recovery on my tablet and question 2: No I can't
I am trying to flash a new recovery on my device using Odin. In the download mode Odin is also stated in red. (ODIN Mode, productname GT_P5110, Custom binary download: Yes (1 count), custom binary: custom.
But when I download the zipped recovery-clockwork-6.0.2.7-p5110 file. I can't open the file using Winzip or Winrar. It should contain a .tar file??
With a small program called "tarmaker" I converted the IMG file to a tar file so I could use it within Odin. I loaded the tar file in the {AP} box and pressed start. I still can't load the machine into recovery mode. :crying: But When I now go into dowload-mode (Odin-mode) the custom binary downlaod has changed to 3. Probally because already 1 was installed and I tried to reflash it two times
Okay bro, here is the method I used to root my Tab:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535083
I'm not sure if you have a wifi only version, the 7" or the 10.1", but, the first time I tried to root I used this method which put me into custom recovery. I screwed up and didn't press the "disable stock recovery" option and couldn't get back into custom recovery. So I hooked it back up, went into odin, redid the process. It put me back into the custom recovery at which point I disabled the stock recovery and success! So basically, according to odin, I rooted twice but have had zero problems. I'm not sure if this will work or even help you, but it's worth a shot. I used the Philz P5110 zip (I have the 5113). If this doesn't work, then I would suggest seeing if I Android-Andi can help, the dude knows his stuff...

I made it... Almost I finally have a CMW working again. The difference with my previous tries was that I now unchecked "F-reset Times" in Odin. But when I try to upload a new version of Cyanogenmod using ADB push "filename.zip" /sd I dont get any results when I want to install the zip. (No files found).
The counter in Download (ODIN Mode) is now 5 counts (Custom binary download: Yes 5 counts). Should that make any difference?
No, flash count shouldn't affect anything. The counter on my phone is probably huge! Ha! Have you tried flashing CM through recovery?

Yes I did. Ha! But when I try to upload the file by using ADB no files are found when I go to install from SDcard. When I go to mounts and storage and I press mount /sd card. Nothing happens. I wonder if i should repartition the SD card somehow. (I have red something about it) Would that help?
I'm trying to install Jellybean, and I put the .zip file on my phone via USB before rebooting into recovery. When I press "choose zip from sdcard" it says No files found.
I even tried the following command:
adb push ./bigxie_JRN84D_rooted_busybox_deodexed.zip /sdcard
But it still says no files found.
I'm using a Galaxy nexus, which doesn't use a sdcard, only internal memory so maybe I am doing something wrong.
My phone is currently bricked and won't boot, so the only thing I can do is use recovery mode.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know how but I fixed it! The tablet suddenly turned of and when I plugged it into the charger and tried to start it, it suddenly started booting Cyanogenmod. Crazy! Maybe it is because my battery is low on fuel.
Hey, i've been getting this 'status 7' error on my galaxy tab 2 10.1. I tried insatalling omni rom 4.4 but it didnt install the first time. So, i went to the updater-script and then tried to remove the assert part of it using editpad lite but apparently it doesnt have assert written but it did have the get prop part so i removed it but the same problem persists. I hav3 even redownloaded it but still it says some symlinks failed.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. The errors that you've been encountering while attempting to install the ROM are usually caused by the user trying to install a ROM that isn't intended for that device. Where did you find the ROM?

Ok, but you haven't answered my other question, I can't help you effectively unless you give the information that I ask for. So, which variant do you have (P5100/P5110/P5113)? Also, did you perform a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik cache) when flashing the ROM? The "cannot install this ROM over incompatible data" suggests that you didn't.

If you've flashed a stock ROM then yes Toynbee lost root. Just boot into your TWRP recovery again and go directly to the reboot screen and select reboot system, it will ask again if you want to root it, select yes.
Best of luck with your device.
