It should work out of the box, unless you have rooted your phone.
If your phone is rooted, you need an app which can unroot on the fly.
Hello
It does not on the oneplus one

Well no because Sky go doesn't support the OnePlus one. So that wouldn't be clever.
The way I got it working was changing...
ro.product.model=A0001
ro.product.device=A0001
In build prop to
ro.product.model=D6503
ro.product.device=D6503
That changes it to xperia z2. Which isn't ideal, so If you do it, make a backup of your original. I don't except responsibility if you do something wrong.
Then I went to supersu ran full unroot. Rebooted for good measure. Then sky go worked. Then when I wanted to go back. I went to custom recovery and flashed supersu then changed build prop back. @james soules

Bit of a bodge but at least it's a way to get it running. Shame Sky don't go the way of BT Sport and allow it to run on anything!

so i recently used superoneclick to root my phone. The program said my phone is rooted yet when my kernels etc are the same as stock. I have superuser on my phone but how do i change the kernels etc so that i can use non market apps like wireless tether?
Kernels can be changed with new ROMS. Rooting means you get superuser permission on the terminals so things can be changed.
i dont understand what you asking about non market apps? But you can use apps that required root.
Hope i helped.

thanks, sorry let me clarify.
I downloaded wireless tether and titanium backup to remove sprint ID. The issue is when i try to run either, they dont work. Wireless says the kernel is the issue. What else should I do to be able to use these apps?

Try barnacle(it's in the market) for wifi tether and you need to download and install busybox in order to use titanium backup, and be careful what you remove because you could brick your phone...

Thank you for the barnacle thing, i havn't removed anything im having issues using anything that requires root access, just unrooted my phone.
Can anyone give me a step by step to rooting it? I simply want to remove sprint ID and have my phone run faster. Cant think of any apps i would really need.
Download z4root here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=446145&d=1290341328 transfer it to your sdcard and use a file manager to open it(if you don't have one download astro) install and run it, choose permanent root, and let it do it's thing...
did that, still isnt working, thank you though.
it appears anytime i try to run an app it says something along the lines of not having root access, even though it is rooted
Weird. Hmmmm. I meant i dont know much about your phone. I know that when my root got effed, i just did a factory reset and re-rooted and it worked.
Sorry couldnt help

going to try this now, just didnt want to since it seems a bit more complicated and im really weak when it comes to linux
You could try installing Rom Manager from the market. If it works you will be able to flash a custom recovery, backup your device and flash a custom ROM.
Give it a go and let us know if it works.
cool so i followed the video, then it wasnt rooted, so i used z4root apparently it took two things to fully root my phone. Not sure why, some sort of sprint failsafe?
Although i forgot to set a backup to sprint features, so im a bit screwed down the road.
You prolly can find a sprint ROM somewhere. Or you could do a factory reset, not sure of that will bring back the sprint apps. Dont they have the sprint apps on the Android market?

That would be my video. AND no, you are NOT rooted if you flashed that tar. All that tar does, is make your phone STOCK with custom recovery, to ensure a nice clean platform to work with. You would hold down volume down, voice button, and power. let go when you see samsung, and then apply an update.zip for the kernel. i do have a video on how to root the Android 2.2.2 and it's a proper root video. Sorry for the confusion.
I rooted my phone and downloaded root explorer to be able to delete some of the sony crap that came with my phone. Unfortunantly I believe that I deleted my camera roll files. I have no idea what the file name is or how to get it back. Also I was thinking, is there possibly something else I could download in replace of it as some sort of patch?
Any ideas would be great. Thank you.

Hi,
Be just as easy re flashing your phone and re-rooting.
Next time watch what you delete too.
This does sound like a good idea....

Other than re rooting and back up and restore and all that I would have to do.
After spending over 15 hours to figure out how to root my phone and put 2.1 on it I am a little hesitant to do it again. Although most of it was trial and error, id rather just patch it up if I could.
ideas for this method?

Hi Again,
personally no point trying to re-install your camera if you do not know what you have deleted, follow these steps -
re-flash your phone using sony update.
root your phone again use this- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906248
Then install your custom rom if you are doing so.
Just to add download titanium backup from the market and also install xrecovery the link is here, once xrecovery is working and you have your phone working how you want use xrecovery to back up your phone then any future problems you will just have restore using xrecovery again-good luck.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571
Please always have a backup it will save you endless hours of frustration.
All system apps can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826849
The Camera Roll depends upon MediaScape being installed. So if you deleted that crap, then the Camera Roll won't work.
Hi!
I am new to xda. I hope that someone will find time and answer me. I have rooted my nexus s (4.1.2) using this metode from the site of nexusshacks. At first everything seemed to go OK. But no I have superuser installed on my phone and when i update it it says that my phone is not rooted. But i still managed to install custom rom (strawberry) and it works. But every thing that needs root premision i cant use. Not titanium backup nothing. Can somebody help me. At tutorial it's said that i need to do flashing twice and it will be ok but it is not. And now i am afraid to anything. I would like to unroot phone instal stock android (not any rom) and than do it again.
Pleas help me!

You don't need to re-install stock. You probably don't have the binary installed properly and that's why it's giving you trouble.
Simply flash either SuperSU and SuperUser and that should be fine.
You can get either one from here:

I wouldn't know, it would be better for you to ask in the Strawberry thread.
A lot of problems can be fixed simply by reflashing either the rom or the kernel. You could try reflashing Strawberry without wiping anything and also after that fixing permissions. Good luck.
Ok so one day my phone is all nice and dandy, rooted as a tree, and then I go to Advence Freeze an app, and Rom Toolbox Pro tells me I no longer have root access. So I go into Titanium backup and it says the same thing. For total verification, I go to Terminal Emulator, and the "su" command gives me a "not granted" response. So while I had root yesterday, for some reason I don't have it today. The thing I'm worried about most is that I did absolutely nothing in the meantime. The phone hadn't restarted in 3 days so that wasn't it. And all I did before it unrooted itself iis use the Inkpad Notepad app, and the Boat Browser app. I didn't touch a single thing that could possibly mess something up. Root hasn't always been very "observable" on my phone. After about a week after rooting it, Superuser stopped asking me if I wanted to allow or deny new apps. But all my root apps still worked. I run no special rom, just stock 4.1.2. I have SafeStrap Bootloader installed for backups as well. I downloaded Motochopper to try to reroot my phone just a few minutes ago and the exploit ran flawlessly. No errors whatsoever. When it booted up, still no root access. To be more specific, Voodoo OTA Root Keeper tells me the device is rooted, but without root access. I also have a root backup made with that program. Can someone please tell me how to fix this because the thought of a "normal" phone is making me depressed :crying:.

The only way I could think of doing that is from the superuser app (if you mean update the binaries) and I already tried. It fails at "gettingroot access".

Perhaps I could backup my data using SafeStrap TWRP, download stock rooted 4.3 (which I wanted since it came out), install it to rom slot 2 using SafeStrap, and then restore my data! Where's my nobel prize? lol Would that work?

There is no stock 4.3 ROM for us. The highest stock version would be 4.1.2. You can get CM10.2 that is vanilla AOSP, but I don't know if it would boot on SS.

I see. That's why my rooted 4.3 search came up.blank. I don't mind trying CM. I tried to SS install it previously but it failed (kinda). But now that I think about it I definitely installed the wrong version. As long as I can restore my data to CM I don't mind trying it. Can I get 4.1.2, root it, and then restore data? But wait, I know my bro has 4.3 rooted he used temp unroot -> update -> restore root. Can I do that? In case you didn't notice I'm new to this :/
Just wondering. I have some friends who are not rooted who said they got update.
Friends on T-Mobile? I believe only AT&T got it.

In my experience, updating via LG Support Tool wipes everything. I am backing up all my data right now. Hopefully towelroot still works on this version.
EDIT: So I just finished the update via LG Support Tool. My data was left intact, but stuff was broke anyways - probably from using system cleaner app and then not having root after the update. So I am doing a factory reset anyway and will start all over. I expected it to be wiped anyway.

I ended up using the LG Mobile Support Tool to install the update. I wasn't able to install the OTA; it booted into TWRP, then when I rebooted the system, it said I was up to date, even though I was still on 10a. I lost root, but was able to re-root with towelroot. Everything was still there when I booted, although I don't have TWRP recovery. Not sure if I want to do that since I read somewhere that I will lose Knock Code. Make sure you back up your data just in case things don't go smoothly.

See if re-rooting with towelroot will fix anything that's broken before you do a complete wipe.

If I use KDZ to flash the update, will I loose TWRP? Or do you think a flashable zip file will be made in the future?
I just updated my NON ROOTED d801 g2 and now my touch screen does not work at all. No errors during installation.
I ran into this problem before when I tried to update the touchscreen firmware through the menus via
3845#801#
My screen would go unresponsive, but after 10 mins and a couple of reboots, it would work back (my guess is that it reverted to the old touch firmware).
This time though, the touchscreen seems to be permanently disabled. Anyone else running into this issue?

Yes you will lose TWRP, if you're concerned about that, hold out for the flashable zip, which I'm sure is coming in the next few days.
