Could you please help me on this?
I have LG G2X. Today, I successfully flashed it to EB 4.0.3 using CWM via NVFlash. After that, I couldn't use internal SD, then I changed a number in a file in etc folder( based on instruction online). I messed up after that. It said that my External SD card is corrupted. I tried to format it.
After that, it kept booting to Recovery mode with 5 line error : E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command ...
I cant wipe. I can flash the zip files but nothing's changed.
Please help me on this.
Thank you so much,
PSC.
please help
Could you please give me a hint ?

Not sure how CWM is working on the N5. Fastboot flash TWRP 2.6.3.4, and try it there.
If twrp doesn't work you can always flash just the cache.img. You won't lose anything on the phone
fastboot flash cache cache.img.

No problem. Glad you got it fixed.
Hi all
I got a issues which cannot flash any rom in to my N915s
with the step as below in odin 3.07
1. CF-Auto-Root-tbelteskt-tbelteskt-smn915s.zip
2. n915s-cwm-recovery-6.0.5.1(1126)
After that my N915s got rooted, and work fine.
But I try to flash custom rom in cwm, is only show update, then the phone auto rebooted, there are nothing and return back to old rom.
After I check that, is seems cannot mount the /system, and I try to manual mount /system but return error mounting /system.
I try to do it again with CF-Auto-Root > CWM but still no luck.
Now I don't have any idea, please help....

Thank you for your reply.
Does TWRP Recovery on Galaxy Note Edge SM-N915T as same as N915S, can I can use it ?
Since I cannot find the N915S version in XDA, thanks.
Try this... Go to recovery... Wipe cache.. Then wipe Davlk cache... The wipe both cache and Davlk cache together.. Then go and try mounting cache again..
edit: Sorry I am way too tired.. I just noticed your problem is system... Yes use TWRP recovery.. I found its best to flash it first as recovery on a fresh root. See is you can mount system in it.. Most have a problem with mounting cache at this stage... If system works and cache becomes the problem use my suggestion... Once all happy them flash CWM as your recovery. Hope this helps.
Edit 2.0... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2945942 This thread goes thru everything you need... if there is no TWRP for your devise there should be working alternative.
Yes, I have follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2945942 and re flash the auto CF and CWM, but the issues still not fix, root checker show the phone rooted, but still cannot mount the system and flash any custom rom
Thanks.
First things first, I'm a newbie when it comes to all these.
I installed CM11 after much effort, but some things didn't work out well so afterwards, I installed CM12.1* (FXP-cm-11-20150301-UNOFFICIAL-taoshan).* But then I decided that I wanted to change my Gapps Package, so I went to recovery mode once again to wipe my phone and install CM12 all over again.
The thing is that for some reason I just couldn't wipe it (no error message) but I was able to log in back to the system (CM12).
I messed around with a few settings and finally I decided to install twrp 2.8.7.0 through the flashify app. I rebooted to recovery, tried to wipe again my phone and then, all hell broke loose.
I realized that I cannot wipe internal memory of all things, and cannot install any new ROM. Can't flash another recovery either through windows flashtool like CWM 6.0 Philz touch, for example. Well, it does flash but my phone keeps on logging into the twrp recovery. I also can't flash my original fft (obviously). I can't do really anything besides messing around with twrp options (and I've messed a lot with them). I'm all out of ideas, so please someone help. When trying to wipe internal storage, the following message appears:
E:mkdosfs /dev/block/mmcblk0p32 process ended with ERROR=1
E:Unable to wipe '/sdcard'.
E:Unknown MTP message type: 1
E:Unable to wipe '/sdcard'
I have the whole log, for anyone interested.
Please help and remember, I'm a newbie.
Thank you.

Thank you for your answer my friend, but I actually managed to fix my problem just moments before you posted your answer! What I did was to flash the cm12.1 recovery nightly which logged me into this recovery (although it seemed all messed up and.. broken). Nevertheless, I managed to flash the CM12.1 ROM from there and everything worked fine!
Bro #immortalwind.. I'm having the same problem exactly what you had. Seriously fu***d up with all with boot loop @ recovery. Could not able to hard reset / factory reset at neither CWM nor TWRP. Tried all knows possible ways. Please could you help me here. Any1 who can halp me here pls...
P.S: literally not moving from the boot load, so flashing a ROM could not be possible i think. any other suggestions please.....

Just reflash stock ftf. You'll be good to go. If that fails, check drivers and downgrade flashtool. After that, normally, install a boot image with a recovery, install your rom gapps, reboot.
Managed to flash.ftf... Thanks for the help friends.

I have flashed android 8.0 with odin then flashed twrp with odin (making sure to disable auto reboot) and rebooted straight into twrp. I then flashed dm verity disabler and now i was able to boot back into my os. The problem is i am now unable to mount my data partition. I have tried formatting my data and this works, but whenever i boot back into my os and set up android, tge problem comes back. Can anyone help with this?

This Worked for me too. It's a simple trick but it's working. Via TWRP, modify EXT4 to EXT2, then again to EXT4 ;-)
Thanks guys
I'm sure it will be useful to many who are going through the same issue

It works only 1 time... and after you lose all data the error come back next boot...
I am planning to install a custom ROM on my S7 and now looking for a way to backup the /data/ partition, which is encrypted.
My preferred solution would be to create a full backup of the old system using twrp, but that doesn't seem to be feasible due to encryption. As the device is not rooted, I cannot pull /data over adb, remove encryption, then restore /data. Any ideas how to solve this?
