[Q] Earpiece audio not working in new Hangouts dialer - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Has anyone tested the new Hangouts Dialer with CM11? The earpiece audio doesn't work on my M8 with the M9 build installed. Speakerphone works fine, though, and the earpiece audio works fine using the regular dialer. I thought it could be an xposed mod so I uninstalled and rebooted, but the earpiece still didn't work.
I did a factory reset and installed the M9 build along with CM's gapps, updated Hangouts to the new version, installed the Dialer, but the earpiece still doesn't work. I restored a nandroid of a different ROM from a couple of weeks ago (digitalhigh's GPE), updated Hangouts, installed the Dialer, and the earpiece works like a charm. So it seems like it's just a HTC M8/CM11 issue?
Thanks in advance for any input!

Earpiece working with a 9/4 unofficial CM build
I did another factory reset and flashed a 9/4 unofficial CM build and the earpiece works just fine. So it appears it's a bug with the M9 build. Will try out M10 when it's released and crossing my fingers it will be fixed.

M10 fixed the earpiece audio issue with the Hangouts Dialer. (For those of you paying attention to this thread. )

Bluetooth wont answer incoming calls only?

Its always worked updated to Cm11 and now Bluetooth won't answer incoming calls. It picks up just no audio at all and they can't hear me. I place a call through the car or play music they work fine. Did a factory reset and install the latest build for Parandroid. Same issue. Now titanium did do a restore. Would this happen to bring something across if it was buggy on the bluetooth? I can make calls and control everything through the dashboard but just cant answer incoming calls. Tried another phone and works just fine. Anyway suggestions?
Lots of people with CM or ROMs based on CM are having this problem. check the development topics for Cm11, mastodon, aicp, Slim among others. Word is a developer has figured out the problem. Others have changed basebands and solved their problem, while others continued to have the problem. I ended up switching from aicp to liquidsmooth and I now can receive calls via Bluetooth.

I too am having the same problem using CM11 M10 on an S3 LTE. Also had the problem on M9. Please share any solution that you find works.
Folks having probs with incoming calls and any other incoming Bluetooth issue (eg music through external speaker) while on CM11 or CM11-based ROM (eg. AICP, Spirit). My understanding is that CM11 developers have determined the cause of the prob (related to the kernel) and that they are pushing down a fix in the current or upcoming updates.
You can also solve the problem by switching to a different kernel (this is the path I took with Spirit ROM... I switched to current BMS kernel). Make sure to use the correct kernel for your device.

Mic not working for voice calls (works for google voice search and speakerphone) Mi4i

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with my mi4i when I have voice calls the microphone doesn't register any sound. It works fine on speakerphone and on doing recordings which leads me to believe this is software and not hardware.
I've tried removing the google voice detection stuff by inhibiting it, as i saw elsewhere this was a problem. I couldn't find any options about noise cancellation which may be malfunctioning.
I'm currently using the most up to date MIUI rom (MIUI 7.0.3.0, android version 5.0.2 LRX22G, kernel 3.10.49) but was previously using the ressurection remix. Both times I had the same problem; I was hoping that with the update to the latest MIUI it would fix this problem, but alas it hasn't.
If anyone has any ideas of how to fix this it would be appreciated.
Also, thanks to all the people out there working on ROMs and fixes!
Thanks

FIXED! On MY OPO No Nougat ROMs Have Front Speaker (Earpiece) Audio During Phone Call

On MY OPO No Nougat ROMs Provide Front Speaker (Earpiece) Audio During Phone Call--Only Speakerphone Works.
Using TWRP 3.0.2-0, I have installed almost every available Nougat ROM, with varying degrees of GApps, and my phone doesn't have a working front speaker (earpiece) during calls with any of them, using either the stock dialer, or the Google Phone downloaded from the Play Store.
If your phone is behaving the same way, please post your logcats here along with a brief description of what you've tried to fix it, or what did fix it.
Also, if you are experiencing this issue, did you ever use Msm8974DownloadTool.exe to recover from a HARD BRICK? I'm looking for something in common with other phones with this issue, and so far this is the only thing I can think of that could possibly make my phone different from any other phones in which the front speaker does work.
Hopefully, someone has a fix, or will see something reparable.
Thanks,
pbergonzi
How to logcat:

EDIT:
FIXED:
As of 2016/11/02, ROM's are coming with the front speaker (earpiece) working properly.
If you don't plan on using any newer Nougat ROM, or if yours doesn't work, you might try the fix @kwoktopus provided in his post:

Don't know how to log cat, but, I have never used Msm8974DownloadTool.exe before and am getting the same issue with the ear piece. I did however find a 7.1 rom that worked, but the video recorder didn't work. I used the tuga 7.1 rom yesterday, earpiece worked, I'm using Nitrogen OS today, earpiece is not working. I hope this helps someone find a solution... I don't think a logcat would help from this rom and I don't feel like flashing back and forth. Everything else on this rom is working flawlessly.
Just noticed you have a tutorial linked on how to logcat, but like I said, I'm on a rom with the same issue so I don't feel like it would help. Try Tuga or whatever it's called and see if you can get it to work.
I have the exact same issue on all Nougat ROMs I tried (Slim7, PureNexus, etc.). Both the earpiece and microphone does not work in calls. The only way I could hear the other person and the other person could hear me was when I was on Speaker or using headsets.
I have now switched back to M. Will send my logcat after I install N again.
After @Hig13's response, I reinstalled TugaPower N3 and N4, and both worked with the front speaker! I'm very glad, thank you @danieldmm.
I hope other devs are able to implement what he has done.
I'm not finished with N ROM's yet though.
Edit: As of 2/11/2016, TugaPower N4 ROM has working video recording. Big congrats to danieldmm.

Hammerhead microphone stopped working on LineagOS & OpenGapps aroma (with Google Ass)

Hammerhead microphone stopped working on LineagOS & OpenGapps aroma (with Google Ass)
Hopefully someone can help me out, I succesfully installed LineageOS with OpenGapps aroma on it with the Google assistant enabled.
I changed the dialer and contacts originally on LineageOS for the Google dialer and Google contacts and in first instance everything was working fine as well as with the Google Assistant.
Unfortunately recently Google assistant didn't recognize my voice anymore and people on the other end of the phone couldn't hear me.
I have reinstalled everything and went back to Lineage dialer and Lineage contacts but nothing helps. When I make a microphone recording I hear cracking noises.
Does it sound familiar to someone? Is it hardware or software problem? My Hammerhead has never let me down before. I'm on 20170228 Nightly and had the one before also installed, I'm not exactly aware of when the problem came up. Thanks in advance...

Turned out to be a hardware problem common to Nexus 5, something with a connector inside that needs some pressure on it and loads of YouTube videos about it...

Microphone not working...

My Google Pixels microphone randomly died after some point in its lifespan, but happened recently. First i updated version to Android Q Beta 1 (and it was working all right on that version) but when i updated it to Android Q Beta 2 (microphone stopped working and whole UI experience was buggy, some apps not working, random restarts, etc...) but then i got it back on Android Pie, and it worked for few minutes into boot and died yet again... Then i installed custom ROM (Pixel Dust) with TWRP recovery and Root, but nothing of those helped, then i got it back on Android Pie via adb sideload OTA. That didn't help either... So i don't know is it the software problem (because it seems to work first few minutes after i boot it) or is it the hardware problem. I use my phone mostly for phone calls and now because microphone is dead, it lost its functionality... But speaker was working, earpiece and 3.5mm jack.. Any suggestions??
i'm having a similar problem at the moment. Since the April OTA update, phone calls stopped working. Even when using a BT headset. I tried reverting to Full Recovery Image from february, but that only helped a bit. Also, any other audio app was not able to use the speaker. With the Feb version, youtube and google music were back working, but phone calls are still not possible, causing the telephone app to freeze. I was thinking about installing some custom rom too, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. Did you try to wipe the cache in recovery?
Update
found three possible workarounds for people having the same issue, perhaps one of those helps. I'll go through them today evening.
You could try enabling the "Disable USB audio routing" in developer options and see if that works for you. It did work for me

Change your launcher, for example, on nova launcher, disallow permission to microphone for google app and never let him this permission, do not use google assistant.

Maybe is a kernel error..but definitely is not a hardware problem. maybe try changing kernels. o downgrading to 7.
since none of the above tricks worked in my case, i booted TWRP to clean the caches. Didn't bring any good result. So i flashed ElementalX Kernel and now i got some kind of a better result, even if it's still weird. Everything works now except incoming calls. I can actively call other persons, use whatsapp or facebook audio calls and all is good. Only if i receive calls, still mic is muted.
I will try everything from above, and hopefully something will actually work and get my Pixel back in life. I will get you updated guys.
Thanks for the support.

None of those helped so far, i'll try flashing some kernel then...
I discovered that when i try to record with my camera video, it says "Can't record audio. Another app is using the mic." Also when i try to record audio message on Messenger app, as soon as i click on microphone icon it says some error.
Update, my sound and video won't record, both on Youtube or Instagram or any kind of video audio playback.
Update
I flashed ElementalX kernel and same stuff happened, phone calls and microphone was working for first 30 minutes then it got back to old days, not working as usual. Now i think this is hardware problem

have you tried chaging vendor image, or getting a vendor image from a working pixel?
I installed lineageos 16 without gapps and is working good for hours until installed gapps.
